The mistake
After the events of valley of the end where Naruto's successfully brought back Sasuke but it as it turns out the village was less than please they have went far enough to strip him of being a ninja and placed him for execution all behind the back of the current hokage who was busy tending to the wounded after the mission.
Currently he is in the council chambers hearing the verdict and it is his execution!
Naruto: you have no right to do this to me I have brought him back as ordered to!!
Random council member: shut up you damn demon you hurt the great Uchiha clan hair you went too far!!!
Naruto: he put a hole in my chest to you know!!
Donzo: enough the verdict is his execution be carried out immediately as he said this he smiled to himself if he can't the weapon then no one can he thought to himself.

Donzo and the council would later cover it up and say he died to his wounds and had body taking care of and they would make sure no one told the truth. Also the council and made they told the lie to the hokage lady Tsunade she would cry about Naruto's death and blame Sasuke and Hinata would do the same and blame him same with shikamaru. Many people would blame the Uchiha for narutos death.
The Akatsuki are having a meeting
They have just found out about Naruto's death and they are furious and pain suspects foul play by donzo.
