Chapter 52: Tide of War
The battlefield roared with chaos. The sound of clashing swords, Meiji fought desperately to defend his army, His sword, stained red, cut through enemies with a rage born of pain and resolve.
Meanwhile, on the opposite side of the bloodied plain, Ken stood tall, his smile wide and manic as he slaughtered through the crowd. his twisted pleasure clear as he reveled in the carnage. He was no longer just a man; he had become something else, something monstrous.
Ken slashed through another body, watching as its intestines spilled onto the ground. He laughed. " Ahhh, this... this is what war is about! This feeling—this rush! Blood and bodies, despair and agony—fufufufu!"
Ken danced through the melee, cutting down anyone who dared approach. His laughter was intoxicating, his madness contagious.
Yuusei pressed on, pushing through the swarm of enemies as he believed that his Lord would bring them victory. They fought not for themselves, but for the future.
Ken : "Come, come! Fight me, you weaklings! I'm a god on this battlefield! You're nothing but ants beneath my feet! Fufufufu!"
Meiji, though weakened and bleeding from the many wounds across his body, gritted his teeth and pressed forward. His eyes were locked on Ken, his brother, the man who had twisted into this monster. His sword, now covered in grime and blood, was his last line of defense.
Meiji : "Ken! Stop this madness! This isn't what we were meant for! You're turning into a beast! Is this how you want to live your life?!"
Ken turned to face him, his grin growing wider, the insanity in his eyes brighter than ever.
Ken :"Live my life? Fufufu! No, little brother, I'm free! This... this is what I was born to do! To crush, to dominate! Look at you—weak, pathetic! Still holding onto ideals like a child. You think your army can stop me? They're just insects!"
Meiji's bloodshot eyes, He stumbled, barely holding himself upright as another arrow found its mark in his back. He groaned, but his will was unshaken.
Meiji : "You're wrong, Ken. We are not the same. You're killing for sport—because you can. But I... I fight for those who cannot!"
Ken's expression faltered for a brief moment, He looked at Meiji, confused for just a split second. Then, "You talk too much, Meiji. You think they're worthy of your protection? These peasants, these weaklings, they're nothing! I'll burn everything down and rebuild it the way I see fit. And when you fall, I'll rule over this land like a king!"
Ken raised his sword, signaling to his forces. A sea of black samurai surged forward, overwhelming the defenders of Meiji's army
.
Meiji : "No! Not while I still alive!"
Meiji dashed forward, as he cut down the enemies in his path. But every step he took, his body screamed in protest, each breath harder to take. Still, he fought, for his people, for the dream of a better future, though greatly outnumbered, they fought beside him, giving their all. Many fell in the attempt, but none hesitated.
One of Meiji's soldiers (shouting as he stabbed an enemy): "For the lord! For our families!"
Ken continued his slaughter, his bodyguards clearing the path around him as his sword danced through the chaos."Fufufufu! Look at them fall! How pathetic!"
Meiji could barely see through the haze of blood and smoke, his mind never wavering from his goal: to stop his brother."Ken! "
As he charged forward, his body screamed in protest, each step bringing him closer to Ken. His warriors continued to fight valiantly, pushing back the enemy forces as best they could, but they knew—if they didn't stop Ken, all would be lost.
