Chapter 26: Library
Chapter 26 Library
"Boom!"
The avatar turned into a cloud of white mist.
"Okay, let's disband," Kiba said with a long breath.
Uchiha Hirohiko and Hyuga Yukina nodded but didn't leave. Instead, they sat on the ground to recover their strength, and Kiba did the same.
"Kiba, Hirohiko, after dinner today, shall we go to the library together?" Yukina suddenly suggested.
Kiba was startled. The library?
How could I forget about the library? I've been training so hard these past few days that I completely forgot about it.
"Okay!" Uchiha Hirohiko nodded, and then they both looked at Kiba.
"Oh, then let's go together. How about having dinner together today?" Kiba suggested.
"I want to go back and talk to my father," Yukina said solemnly. Although she had a cold, frosty exterior, Kiba knew she was actually a very serious and well-behaved girl.
Kiba nodded and said, "Okay, let's go home and take a shower first, then gather at Ichiraku Ramen."
Hirohiko Uchiha nodded in agreement.
The three got up to say goodbye. Yukina and Hirohiko went home in the same direction, so they walked together, while Kiba headed the other way.
Kiba wondered if Uzumaki Kushina had chosen this training ground on purpose. It was close to his home and relatively close to the Hyuga and Uchiha homes, making the commute short for all of them.
After taking a shower, Kiba felt the exhaustion of the day wash away. He realized that in just three days, he had gradually adapted to the rigorous training, unlike the previous days when he would collapse and fall asleep immediately.
He also felt that his body had become stronger. If he continued this training every day, he estimated that opening four gates next year would not be a problem.
Twenty minutes later, the three of them showed up at Ichiraku Ramen on time. Because they were Kushina's disciples, Teuchi, the ramen shop owner, generously added extra char siu to their bowls.
However, the three of them found it difficult to use chopsticks.
It wasn't because the ramen wasn't delicious, but their hands holding the chopsticks were shaking uncontrollably. They were too tired from training to even hold the chopsticks properly.
Despite adapting to the high-intensity training, Kiba and the others were so exhausted that they could barely feel physical fatigue anymore.
They struggled to eat their ramen and then left the shop under Teuchi's worried gaze. "Are these children okay?" he wondered.
The trio rushed to the library without stopping. After showing their library cards and medals, the administrator readily let them in.
Once inside, they dispersed according to their plan. The library closed at eight o'clock, giving them just over an hour to borrow ninjutsu books.
Kiba walked among the rows of bookshelves, occasionally taking out a scroll to read. The scrolls couldn't be taken out of the library, so they could only be read there.
The library was very quiet, with only the sound of Hirohiko and Yukina flipping through pages. Not everyone was allowed to enter the library, ensuring the environment remained peaceful.
"Chakra's Nature Change" and "Chakra's Form Change." After going through several ninjutsu scrolls, Kiba was drawn to these two scrolls.
The nature and form change of chakra were fundamental concepts. Every ninja utilized these changes in their chakra. The nature change referred to altering the chakra's properties, while the form change involved manipulating the chakra's shape and state.
All ninjutsu relied on these two transformations.
There were seven chakra properties: fire, water, earth, lightning, wind, yin, and yang. Chakra extracted from the human body was initially non-attributed and needed to be altered to perform corresponding elemental ninjutsu.
The chakra produced by the Eight Gates technique was also non-attributed. Kiba needed to change its nature to perform elemental techniques.
How did I forget about this? Maybe I can't use Fire Release because I haven't changed the nature of my chakra!
Kiba read the scrolls carefully, memorizing each word. These scrolls systematically described the applications of the two chakra transformations, providing Kiba with a comprehensive understanding.
The nature of my chakra needs to change! I can't use the Fireball technique because I can't alter my chakra to the fire attribute. This means I'm not a fire attribute. Earth Release works easily, so I must be an earth attribute. I wonder if I have other attributes.
Kiba watched and analyzed.
There were two types of nature changes: one altered the properties of the chakra within the body, and the other used one's chakra to create or modify external objects.
For example, non-attributed chakra becoming earth-attributed was an internal change. Creating earth or altering existing soil, like making a hard wall, was an external change.
Form change primarily affected the chakra itself. For instance, the Rasengan was a dense aggregate of chakra that changed its shape and state.
However, something seemed off... I remember during the Fourth Great Ninja War, the Ten Tails unleashed a Tailed Beast Bomb, and Shikamaru's call for the Allied Shinobi Forces' Earth Release barrier worked, but its power was limited.
So, why can't I use Fire Release? Although I'm not a fire attribute... Could it be that I don't have enough chakra? Unable to cast it?
Kiba frowned, pondering.
What was certain was that if the attribute was wrong, the power of the ninjutsu would be greatly reduced, and the chakra consumption would be high.
Kiba held the two scrolls, deep in thought. Unknowingly, it was already closing time, so he put the scrolls back and left the library.
After leaving the library, the three of them bid farewell and returned home.
Kiba was absent-minded on the way back, his mind full of thoughts about chakra nature and form changes. Changing the chakra's nature during a seal was simple for a ninja with the corresponding attribute. For example, an earth attribute ninja could naturally change non-attributed chakra to earth chakra.
But creating or strengthening earth required practice, which wasn't easy.
After practice, one could master changes in other attributes. The Third Hokage and future Kakashi had mastered five chakra properties. However, mastering non-native attributes was extremely difficult. Apart from some descendants of the Sage of the Six Paths, only these two had mastered all five nature changes.
Generally, Jonin had mastered two types.
Many geniuses existed in the Naruto world, but very few mastered all five nature changes, highlighting the difficulty.
"Tomorrow, I'll do some ninjutsu training and see if I have other chakra attributes," Kiba said to himself as he climbed into bed. "In the ninjutsu scroll, I saw a Water Release technique. I'll try it tomorrow."
With that thought, Kiba closed his eyes and quickly fell asleep, exhausted from the day's training.
