Chapter 204: Obito: "I've Run Into a Ghost Today"

"This is the place?"

Obito glanced at the massive boulder blocking his way, utterly unconcerned.

Such barriers might stop others, but they were useless against someone with Kamui.

At that moment, the nearby Anbu stationed as guards noticed Obito. Shuriken, kunai, and various ninjutsu rained down on the intruder in an instant.

Obito phased through all the attacks effortlessly, ignoring the skirmish entirely as he dove into the cave.

With Yakumaru and Kakashi fighting on the frontlines in the Land of Wind, Uchiha Fugaku stationed at the Land of Fire's borders, and Tsunade, as the Daimyo, overseeing affairs at the Daimyo's residence—this was a golden opportunity.

Who could stop him?

Tonight, while Kushina was in labor, he would seize the most powerful Nine-Tails and bring the Eye of the Moon Plan one step closer to fruition!

A smug smile spread across Obito's face as he phased through the barrier and the boulder, his sudden appearance leaving the Anbu behind in shock and confusion.

The scene before him was a massive circular chamber. The environment was simple, but the medical equipment was well-prepared.

Ten meters ahead, a red-haired woman lay weakly on a bed. Beside her were four female medical-nin, one of whom, the most mature-looking, held a newborn baby in her arms.

"Waaah—"

The baby's loud cries filled the space, signaling the arrival of new life.

However, when Obito saw the woman holding the child, his smile froze.

"Why is Tsunade here?"

The Daimyo herself, not at the Daimyo's residence, but here assisting with Kushina's delivery?

What kind of joke was this?!

Are you seriously that free?!

Obito's arrival brought a chilling aura to the room.

The blond Anbu, who had been vigilantly monitoring the area, instantly sensed his presence. Drawing a kunai, he coldly locked eyes on the masked man.

The frigid gaze snapped Obito back to his senses. Ignoring the medical-nin and Anbu entirely, he lunged toward the weakened Kushina.

It didn't matter why Tsunade was here—one of the Legendary Sannin or not, she wasn't someone he feared. Even one-on-one, he was confident he could defeat her. Besides, she was holding a baby in her arms—what could she possibly do to stop him?

As for the blond Anbu with the fox mask?

Not the white-haired one, so not even worthy of being called an opponent.

Tsunade, on the other hand, had already noticed the intruder as soon as Obito entered. Seeing him target Kushina, she glanced down at Naruto in her arms. Her brows furrowed as she evaded Obito's attack.

At the same time, just as Obito wondered why Tsunade had ignored Kushina, the sharp sound of a kunai slicing through the air reached his ears. A kunai was flying straight toward him.

It was thrown by the blond Anbu!

Obito paid it no mind, letting the kunai pass harmlessly through his head. He reached out to grab Kushina, unwilling to let this opportunity slip away.

But as his hand was about to make contact with her, the kunai that had flown past was suddenly caught mid-air by a hand. The Anbu appeared above Obito in an instant.

A blue sphere of chakra began to form in the Anbu's hand, and he slammed it down with force!

Boom!

Obito, forced to solidify his body, let out a muffled grunt as the Rasengan smashed him into the ground. He quickly recovered, though, and phased again before the Anbu could follow up, retreating to a corner to face off against him.

Seeing this, the Anbu didn't pursue further and instead stationed himself near Kushina to guard her.

"What are you waiting for? Get Kushina out of here now!"

On the other side of the room, Tsunade handed the crying Naruto to Shizune and shouted at the two stunned medical-nin.

"Yes, Tsunade-sama!"

The medical-nin snapped out of their shock at someone daring to attack Konoha, quickly helping the weakened, visibly conflicted Kushina out of the cave under Shizune's lead.

Cornered by the Anbu and Tsunade, Obito couldn't spare attention for his fleeing target. His eyes were fixed on the Anbu before him, his gaze heavy.

Compared to Kushina, the man in front of him was far more concerning.

"Flying Raijin, Rasengan…"

If the man had used only one of those techniques, Obito might not have cared.

But combining the two, along with his unhidden blond hair, left Obito with only one possible conclusion—

His teacher, Namikaze Minato!

But Minato had long been dead…

His thoughts racing, Obito quickly considered a certain technique. His eyes narrowed. "You were brought back by Edo Tensei?"

Edo Tensei—this was the only way Obito could think of for Konoha to bring Minato back to life.

"Obito…"

Hearing the unmasked voice, somewhat unfamiliar yet undeniably his, Minato's expression beneath the mask grew complicated. "I expected someone might attack today, but I didn't think it would be you."

His tone carried a trace of sorrow.

Though he had known there was no turning back for Obito since the latter targeted Kakashi, actually crossing blades with his student still weighed heavily on him.

"Enough talk," Tsunade interrupted as she discarded her restrictive white coat, tossing it aside. "He's already chosen to act, so there's no room for negotiation."

"Isn't that right, Konoha's S-rank rogue ninja—Uchiha Obito?"

Standing side by side with Minato, Tsunade glared at Obito.

In response, Obito silently pulled out an iron chain.

There was nothing more to say between them.

Moments later, Tsunade punched a hole in the cave wall in frustration, her brows furrowed as she retracted her fist.

Before her, Obito—who had tangled with them for three minutes—was nowhere to be seen.

The fight itself had been straightforward. Armed with the intel from Hyuga Fuji and Yamato's prior battles with Obito, they had held the upper hand throughout the confrontation.

Yet, Obito, growing increasingly cautious thanks to Minato's tactics, had relied on Kamui to retreat unscathed.

Beside Tsunade, Minato bent down to pick up a small white fragment from the ground and sighed.

The fragment bore the Flying Raijin mark, left when he first struck Obito with the Rasengan.

But before Minato could use the mark, the white fragment had detached from Obito's body.

Clearly, the White Zetsu still clinging to Obito had been used to guard against the Flying Raijin.

As for whom Obito was wary of, Minato knew all too well.

Tsunade stepped closer, glancing at the white remnant. "Without Kakashi's eye, capturing him is nearly impossible."

Over time, Kakashi had grown more accustomed to the power of his Mangekyō Sharingan. While he couldn't wield it proficiently in battle yet, his understanding of Kamui had become clear—

A space-distorting technique.

With Kakashi's insights, combined with Obito's abilities and prior combat records, Shikaku and the others had formed a theory:

Kamui connected to an alternate dimension, accessible only through the Mangekyō Sharingan bearing the Kamui ability!

Obito's phasing and teleportation were likely tied to this alternate dimension.

Without Kakashi present, capable of marking that space, capturing Obito would remain an insurmountable challenge.

Thinking of a multi-person, space-traversing jutsu, Tsunade's eyes gleamed briefly with resolve.
