Naruto: Tenseigan Eye

Chapter 455: Chapter 455: Unspeakable Reasons

Here's the revised version of the text with improved clarity and readability:

The police department team arrived at the scene and froze, stunned by the chaotic spectacle before them. They hesitated to act, choosing instead to send someone to summon their minister. However, Uchiha Fugaku, already aware of the intense chakra fluctuations, arrived on his own accord.

When he saw Jiraiya and Orochimaru still fighting, Fugaku wisely chose to stay out of it. Instead, he dispatched someone to inform Tsunade at the Hokage's office.

Intervening himself? Not an option.

Fugaku knew without the Mangekyō Sharingan, he was no match for either Jiraiya or Orochimaru. Furthermore, their special statuses made the situation more complicated. Arresting them outright was unthinkable.

After all, the less one acts, the fewer mistakes one makes. And doing nothing? That guarantees no mistakes at all.

Fortunately, Tsunade responded swiftly. She left the Hokage's office without hesitation, skipping the stairs and jumping straight out of the window.

"You two idiots, stop it right now!" she yelled as she landed at the scene.

Pink Street was in ruins. Buildings were damaged, and many villagers had been injured. Tsunade's eye twitched with frustration. What were these fools thinking?

Jiraiya provoking Orochimaru wasn't new—it was practically routine. Usually, Jiraiya would tease him for no apparent reason, and Orochimaru would retaliate. Most of the time, Orochimaru ignored him unless thoroughly provoked.

Under Tsunade's scolding, the two reluctantly ceased their battle.

"Argh, it hurts!" Jiraiya groaned, clutching his bruised eye and back. His body was partially numb from snake venom after being bitten during the fight.

Orochimaru, by contrast, appeared relatively unbothered. Although his elegant clothes were torn and dirtied, and a few footprints marked his body, he carried no visible injuries.

"What were you two thinking?" Tsunade demanded, her voice seething with anger.

"It's all that arrogant Orochimaru's fault!" Jiraiya protested. "If he hadn't attacked me—"

"Enough!" Tsunade cut him off sharply. "Both of you, to the Hokage's office. Now."

Tsunade wasn't about to let the details of their fight be aired in public. Whatever had provoked Orochimaru to act so brazenly needed to be addressed in private.

Orochimaru rarely lost his composure, and when it came to enemies, his responses were calculated and decisive. But with Jiraiya, who was neither an enemy nor an ally, his reactions were usually restrained unless he was pushed too far.

Tsunade knew this. If Orochimaru had attacked Jiraiya in the middle of a crowded street, something significant must have triggered him.

The two begrudgingly followed Tsunade's command. Certain disputes were better resolved behind closed doors, where they wouldn't damage relationships or public perception.

"Patriarch Fugaku," Tsunade instructed, "organize the police department to assist in rescue operations. Have the injured sent to the hospital immediately. I'll handle compensation for the damages on Pink Street."

While the culprits had been dealt with, the aftermath needed attention. Injuries had to be treated, and property damage would require financial reparations.

Thankfully, Jiraiya and Orochimaru were wealthy enough to cover the damages, so Tsunade wasn't concerned about village finances taking a hit.

Once the cleanup effort was delegated to Fugaku, Tsunade escorted Jiraiya and Orochimaru back to the Hokage's office.

Inside the office, Orochimaru sat calmly on the sofa, meticulously adjusting his clothing. Jiraiya, however, refused to sit. He stood at a safe distance, glaring at Orochimaru with a pale face and gritted teeth, his body still half-numb from the venom.

Damn snake venom! Jiraiya thought angrily.

Orochimaru, on the other hand, didn't spare him a glance.

Tsunade, observing the tense silence, summoned a small slug with a quick seal. She handed it to Jiraiya, motioning for him to place it on his back.

The slug immediately began neutralizing the venom and healing Jiraiya's minor injuries.

As the slug worked, Tsunade leaned forward on her desk, her sharp gaze shifting between the two men. "Explain yourselves. What happened between you two? Your behavior today was completely unacceptable. No matter how angry you are, you can't fight in a residential area."

Her tone grew harsher. "Pink Street is crowded. It's bad enough that people were injured, but what if someone had died?"

Jiraiya and Orochimaru had clashed many times before, but they usually avoided heavily populated areas. The recklessness of today's fight was unacceptable.

"Ask him!" Jiraiya said indignantly, pointing at Orochimaru. "I was just having fun on Pink Street—uh, drinking—when this crazy snake came in and attacked me!"

Tsunade raised an eyebrow. "Orochimaru, why did you attack Jiraiya?"

Orochimaru, who had been calmly fixing his sleeves, froze for a moment before replying, "He wrote a picture book implying things about me."

"Me?" Jiraiya's jaw dropped. "I've written a lot of books, but how did I imply anything about you?"

Jiraiya racked his brain, trying to remember. Years ago, he had used Orochimaru and Tsunade as practice characters for his writing. While Tsunade had beaten him up for it, Orochimaru had barely reacted. In fact, Orochimaru usually didn't care about how he was portrayed, even in strange ways.

But this time was different. It wasn't just that Orochimaru had been written as Princess Orochimaru. It was the part where Princess Orochimaru ended up romantically involved with Jiraiya.
