Hatake Sakumo, now an established member of ANBU, had long been indifferent to the Third Hokage's troubles. His role was to follow orders and not overstep his responsibilities. He had already delivered the sensitive information—it was up to Shinki to decide how to handle it.

Shinki, however, decided to delay taking action. He wanted to observe the situation and let things unfold for a few days.

This seemingly minor delay had unforeseen consequences. The rumors spread faster than Shinki anticipated, amplified by the growing discontent within the village. The news of the Third Hokage allegedly embezzling public funds to enrich his clan and allies ignited a firestorm among the already-angry villagers.

It became clear that someone was deliberately stoking the flames. Shinki assigned a puppet operative to investigate the source of the rumors. In just two days, the truth came to light.

Daimyo's Revenge

The investigation revealed that the rumors originated from none other than the Fire Country Daimyo.

Shinki was surprised. The frail, timid man—who could barely muster the courage to face Danzo Shimura's glare—had orchestrated this elaborate scheme as an act of vengeance against Sarutobi Hiruzen. The daimyo had collected information on the Third Hokage's questionable dealings for months, waiting for the perfect moment to strike.

Even the meek can become bold when pushed to their limits, Shinki mused. The daimyo had been humiliated and terrified after the assassination attempt, and this was his way of biting back.

The News Reaches Tsunade

Two days later, as the Hokage's office scrambled to manage the brewing war and public unrest, Shinki returned home with the incriminating scroll in hand.

During dinner, he casually placed the scroll on the table and turned to Tsunade.

"After we eat, you should go to the Hokage's office. Your teacher's latest scandal has been exposed. This is the intel ANBU collected, and I'm sure the news has already spread through the village."

"What news?" Tsunade asked, her curiosity piqued.

Shinki smirked but didn't answer. Intrigued, Tsunade abandoned her meal and grabbed the scroll. As she read the details, her eyes widened in shock.

"Bang!"

Her chair toppled over as she leapt to her feet, startling Kushina, who was quietly celebrating her victory in hoarding all the meat.

"What's wrong, Sister Tsunade?" Kushina asked, her eyes wide with confusion.

"I'm going to the Hokage's office! Damn it, I knew this would happen!" Tsunade snapped, grabbing the scroll and storming out. She didn't bother with the door—in true Tsunade fashion, she jumped out of the window, vanishing into the night.

At the Hokage's Office

The Third Hokage was still deep in thought, trying to craft a strategy to handle the war and the growing protests, when the door to his office was violently kicked open.

"Bang!"

The force left a gaping hole in the wooden frame, startling the Third Hokage and his advisors, Koharu Utatane and Mitokado Homura. Koharu turned angrily, ready to reprimand the intruder, but her fury dissipated when she saw Tsunade standing there, visibly seething.

"Tsunade, do you have any idea—" Koharu began, but Tsunade cut her off.

"Enough! Your dirty little secret has been exposed!"

She stormed to the desk, slamming the scroll down with a resounding thud. "I warned you to be careful, but now look at this mess! How are you planning to fix it?"

The Third Hokage blinked in confusion. "What are you talking about?"

Koharu and Homura exchanged puzzled glances. They had no idea what Tsunade was referring to.

Tsunade's anger didn't waver. "See for yourself!"

The Third Hokage picked up the scroll with trembling hands and quickly scanned its contents. His expression darkened with each word.

"How… how is this possible?"

The weight of the accusations hit him like a blow. His hands slackened, and the scroll slipped from his grasp, rolling across the floor to Homura's feet.
