__________
The day's classes were over.
Sasuke turned back and looked at Shiki, who was surrounded by Ino, Hinata, and others, clearly the center of attention.
After witnessing Shiki's true strength, Sasuke had realized the gap between them.
Unless he could awaken his Sharingan, but that wasn't something that would happen quickly.
Now, he was thinking about how to ask Shiki for advice, but the words wouldn't come.
Suddenly, Sasuke thought of his gentle mother, Mikoto.
The last time, it was with her help that Shiki had agreed to spar with him. But asking for a spar was different from asking for advice.
Sasuke made up his mind and left the classroom, quickly running back home.
"Mom! Help me!" Sasuke shouted as soon as he entered the house.
"Slow down." Mikoto sighed helplessly, smiling, "You'll fall if you keep rushing like that."
Sasuke stopped in front of her, unsure of how to start.
"Is this about Shiki?" Mikoto asked, gently placing a hand on his head.
Sasuke immediately nodded.
"Tell me exactly what's going on." She said softly. "Did you two have a disagreement?"
It wasn't unreasonable for her to think that, given how cold both of her sons tended to be.
"No," Sasuke hesitated, then admitted, "I want him to teach me Taijutsu."
Mikoto laughed lightly. So that's what it was. It was all about his pride, as usual.
"Tomorrow's Saturday." She said thoughtfully, "How about coming with me to visit Lady Tsunade?"
Not only would that help with Sasuke's problem, but it would also give Mikoto a chance to get closer to Tsunade. The current tensions between the Uchiha clan and Konoha's higher-ups were troubling. Although Tsunade wasn't actively involved in leadership anymore, she still held influence, and Mikoto wanted to ease the burden on her husband Fugaku and her older son, Itachi.
"Thanks, Mom!" Sasuke smiled, relieved.
"You and Itachi are such good sons. This is nothing for a mother to do." Mikoto said with a sigh. She was happiest when thinking about her two wonderful boys.
Back at the Ninja Academy, Sasuke's departure hadn't gone unnoticed. Sakura had tried to chase after him but couldn't catch up.
"Everyone!" Naruto suddenly shouted excitedly.
"What's up with you, Naruto?" Kiba asked, puzzled by his outburst.
"I want to introduce my Taijutsu teacher to everyone!" Naruto said proudly, tugging on his green tights, "He gave me this outfit!"
"Taijutsu teacher?" Shikamaru was surprised. Who could be Naruto's teacher without the Hokage's permission?
"Uncle Guy!" Naruto beamed, "Are you jealous? I can ask him to give each of you a set of these!"
"No way!" Ino crossed her arms in disgust. She couldn't even imagine how awful she'd look in that outfit.
The others also shook their heads, refusing.
Naruto looked disappointed for a moment, but quickly turned hopeful again and looked at Shiki. After all, it was Shiki who had guided him to meet Might Guy, and it was through him that Naruto had learned the power of youth. Surely, Shiki would understand!
"Let's go." Shiki said calmly, standing up, "Don't keep Uncle Kai waiting."
"Right." Shikamaru immediately guessed what Shiki was thinking and agreed.
Naruto, momentarily distracted, forgot his disappointment and eagerly followed.
At the school gate, Might Guy was doing one-handed push-ups, rising and falling with ease. Everyone except Shiki stared in amazement.
This was Naruto's teacher? They were starting to question whether Naruto was really learning anything useful.
"Uncle Guy!" Naruto waved energetically.
Might Guy jumped up and landed gracefully, looking at the group of kids. The sight brought back memories of his own time in the academy. The youthful energy was overwhelming.
With tears in his eyes, Guy gave Naruto a thumbs up, "Naruto! Run around Konoha a hundred times today!"
Naruto grinned and dashed off, "See you next week, everyone!"
The rest of the group stared after them, speechless.
"I suddenly think Naruto is amazing." Kiba muttered, unable to hide his shock, "I'm ashamed of myself."
"Hard to say." Shikamaru admitted, for once feeling like his intelligence wasn't enough to make sense of the situation.
Just then, a commotion caught their attention.
"Stop! Don't run! Pay back the money!"
A blonde woman sprinted past them at high speed, followed by three exhausted young men who were barely managing to keep up.
"So fast." Ino murmured, dumbfounded.
This lady was even faster than Might Guy. It was a miracle.
Shiki sighed. That was Tsunade. He recognized the scene all too well.
"I'll go on ahead." Shiki said, glancing at Hinata and Ino before turning to leave. He didn't want to get involved.
"Teacher." Shiki called softly as he reached a narrow alley, but Tsunade was nowhere in sight.
"Quite the sharp eye, kid."
Her voice came from above. Shiki looked up, spotting her long white legs. In the sunlight, they looked even whiter, with a rosy glow. Her toes, rounded like grapes, gleamed.
"How much do you owe?" Shiki asked.
"No idea." Tsunade replied carelessly, "Could be a few hundred million, maybe more."
The debts were so many she'd lost count.
Back at home, she had an entire suitcase full of IOUs.
"…"
Shiki had no words.
"What is it?" Tsunade asked.
Tsunade jumped down, shook her whole body, and asked with a smile, "Want to pay back the money for the teacher?"
"In no mood."
Shiki replied without hesitation.
How many hundreds of millions does he have?
A few hundred million lives would be more like it.
The smile on Tsunade's face suddenly froze.
Her joy was in vain.
Although she didn't expect him to pay back the money, his absolute refusal made her uncomfortable.
"I'm very angry now."
Tsunade clenched her fists and said.
"Want a popsicle?"
Shiki asked casually.
"I'm not a child."
Tsunade laughed, "You just want to eat it yourself, right?"
"I don't want to."
Shiki shook his head and said.
"Why are you pretending to be an adult?"
Tsunade bent down, grabbed his hand, and said, "Come on, Sensei will take you to buy it."
"Do you have any money?"
Shiki asked seriously, "I don't want to be chased down."
"Little brat!"
Tsunade was so angry that she punched the wall.
With a loud bang, the wall collapsed, sending dust flying everywhere.
Tsunade's expression changed slightly. She acted quickly, picking up Shiki and jumping out of harm's way.
What kind of strange maneuver was that?
That was the only thought running through Shiki's mind after being put down.
---
"It looks good."
Tsunade paid for two popsicles and casually handed one to Shiki.
"Thank you, Sensei."
Shiki took a bite and shivered from the cold.
Tsunade smiled, savoring her popsicle, licking it with her pink tongue and eating it with relish.
By the time they got home, both popsicles were gone.
"Let's wait for Shizune to come back and cook."
Tsunade took off her shoes and walked into the house barefoot.
She sat on the sofa and took off her coat, revealing a sleeveless top underneath.
"When will Shizune be back?"
Shiki already knew she had gone to Konoha Hospital.
"About an hour."
Tsunade replied casually.
"Too long."
Shiki thought for a moment and said, "I'll cook."
"You?"
Tsunade crossed her arms, teasing him, "Little brat, you want to betray your teacher and ancestors?"
She didn't believe a six-year-old could cook.
It would probably taste awful.
Shiki glanced at her and said, "Wait."
Tsunade watched him leave, slightly startled.
Really?
She crossed her legs, thinking.
Even if it's food poisoning, she was confident she could save him.
Shiki didn't start cooking right away because it was still early.
He looked at the fish in the basin, then took it out and placed it on the chopping board.
Shiki began practicing.
Half an hour later, his expression suddenly changed slightly.
"It's done! I've got it!"
Shiki walked into the living room carrying the cutting board.
Tsunade laughed.
She leaned forward, resting her chin on her hands, her arms on her thighs.
"Little devil." Tsunade said with amusement, "You were so confident, but in the end, you can't even handle a fish."
Because Shiki wanted to practice medical ninjutsu, there were five carp in the kitchen.
She thought he was going to cook fish.
For some reason, seeing Shiki frustrated made her feel very pleased.
Maybe it was because he's usually so calm and confident, like he can do anything.
"Look at the fish."
Shiki said seriously.
"What's so great about fish?"
Tsunade paused, her smile fading as she realized this fish was the one Shiki usually practiced on.
"Could it be...?"
Tsunade placed her hand on the fish, activating her chakra to scan its condition.
The moment became clear to her.
"Congratulations."
Tsunade looked at Shiki.
In less than two weeks, if she hadn't seen it herself, she wouldn't have believed someone in the world had a medical ninja talent surpassing her own.
But now it seemed Shiki had indeed surpassed her.
"But don't get complacent."
Tsunade's expression turned serious, "You've just started."
Shiki nodded, understanding.
As the saying goes, persuading someone to study medicine is like signing them up for disaster.
Someone even said studying medicine couldn't save the world.
There was still a long way to go from entering the world to facing the inevitable end.
"I'll go cook."
Shiki said.
"Wait."
Tsunade beckoned him over with a hooked finger, "Come here."
'Is she calling a dog?'
Being Tsunade's dog... well, that's not an ideal life either.
He'd rather be the master.
Shiki walked forward.
"Let me check your body."
Tsunade raised her palm.
"Why?"
Shiki instinctively took a step back.
"Why are you acting shy?"
Tsunade smiled, explaining, "I want to check your chakra condition, so I can decide how to teach you next."
Shiki didn't argue, allowing her delicate hand to rest on his abdomen.
His body's defenses, thanks to the system, wouldn't reveal too much.
"There's more chakra than I expected, and its quality is quite impressive."
Tsunade opened her eyes, a bit surprised.
She even suspected that Shiki might have Uzumaki or Senju blood.
Especially the Senju clan, which had likely intermarried with the Aburame.
"Go on, cook."
Tsunade rubbed his head playfully, and seeing his unhappy expression, her mood lifted.
Shiki turned and left.
Now he could finally put that fish to use.
"Let's make a spicy fish dish."
Shiki glanced at the kitchen condiments.
He skillfully cut the fish, ending its life painlessly.
Just as he was finishing, Shizune returned home.
