With the arrival of the Mist Ninjas, the atmosphere on the battlefield turned eerily tense.
Both the Stone Ninjas and Konoha Ninjas, who had been fiercely clashing moments ago, halted their battles, their expressions turning grim as they warily eyed the Mist Ninjas.
A cold night wind swept through the field, brushing against the exposed skin of the warriors and sending a chill through the air.
A stood tall on the battlefield, his expression stern and his brow furrowed as he glared at the young Mist Ninja leading the group. In a deep, commanding voice, he demanded.
"State your name, Mist Ninja!"
The young ninja, who had been watching A's earlier display of power, showed no signs of intimidation. Although visibly impressed, his demeanor remained calm and detached.
He glanced at A and replied in a cold, flat tone.
"Yagura."
His pale lavender eyes lingered momentarily on A and then shifted toward Bee standing nearby. He added calmly.
"If I'm not mistaken, you're the son of the Third Raikage, correct?"
"During the Second Great Ninja War, the A-B Duo of the Cloud Village gained quite a reputation against the Stone Ninjas. Judging by your age, you must be that A."
A's sharp gaze narrowed further, his brows knitting into a tighter scowl as he stared at the seemingly youthful Yagura.
A Mist Ninja so young, yet he knows my identity?
The tension on the battlefield escalated as A and Yagura exchanged words.
Suddenly—
"Shhhk! Shhhk!"
The sound of movement from the shadowy forest drew everyone's attention.
A Hyūga ninja from the Konoha side, his expression grim, muttered.
"A large group is approaching!"
Hearing this, Minato and Ao froze, their faces momentarily puzzled.
Who else could be arriving at a time like this?
The already-paused skirmishes among the ninja factions came to a complete halt as everyone turned their attention toward the source of the commotion.
"Boom!"
A massive shadow emerged from the forest and landed heavily on the battlefield, sending a cloud of dust into the air. The hulking figure loomed like a mountain of flesh, casting an oppressive shadow over the area.
Behind the figure, dozens of other shadows appeared, moving in unison.
As the dust settled, a sharp, raspy voice rang out, cutting through the silence like the screech of grinding metal. The voice carried a chilling undertone as it mocked.
"Yagura, I never thought we'd end up fighting side by side!"
The dust cleared, revealing a tall, rotund man with wild red hair standing imposingly. His beady green eyes gleamed malevolently, and a sinister grin spread across his face, exposing sharp teeth.
"Thud!"
The man reached behind him and pulled out a massive, bandage-wrapped object, slamming it onto the ground. His right hand gripped its hilt confidently, his demeanor exuding arrogance.
Addressing the assembled ninjas, he sneered, his voice sharp and grating.
"First time meeting, huh? Well, get ready to die!"
Yagura glanced at him briefly, his expression unperturbed as he replied flatly.
"Fuguki, I never intended to fight alongside you. Don't let your arrogance get the better of you—these opponents aren't the same as the ones you've faced before."
Fuguki Suikazan chuckled darkly, his tiny eyes gleaming with malice as he retorted.
"Yagura, do you know how many ninjas from the Four Great Villages we've taken out on our way here? These guys are no different—weaklings, all of them."
Yagura didn't respond, merely standing silently as he observed the battlefield.
Fuguki's words incited anger among the gathered ninjas. Furious glares were directed at him from all sides, but his smug demeanor remained unchanged.
Watching this unfold, A clenched his fists tightly, his dark-skinned face barely able to contain his rage.
"Boom!"
Chakra surged violently around him as he bellowed.
"Such arrogance!"
"A mere Mist Ninja dares to boast before us?!"
As he spoke, the ground beneath him shattered, and he vanished in an instant.
"Whoosh!"
In the blink of an eye, A, cloaked in his Lightning Release Armor, appeared in front of Fuguki.
Raising his elbow, which crackled with intense lightning, A roared.
"Heavy Stream Storm!"
"Clang!"
The sound of a fierce impact echoed across the battlefield, accompanied by sparks flying in all directions. Fuguki's massive body slid backward from the force of the attack.
When the dust settled, the ninjas could see Fuguki gripping the bandaged object tightly, using it to block A's strike.
"Hm?!"
A let out a low grunt, his sharp eyes flashing with suspicion as he thought.
There's something strange about that bandaged weapon.
My Heavy Stream Storm should have crushed him, but it was completely blocked. Not only that—my chakra drained significantly upon contact. What is that thing?
A's brows furrowed as he glared at Fuguki.
The other ninjas, equally confused, watched the scene in shock.
Suddenly, Fuguki moved. With a swift motion, he unwrapped the bandages from his weapon, revealing its true form.
"Hahaha!"
A guttural laugh escaped him as the bandages fell away, revealing a grotesque blade covered in black, scale-like spikes.
Fuguki's face twisted into a savage grin as he stared at A and rasped.
"Didn't expect this, did you, kid? This is Samehada, the Shark Skin Blade. Did you really think your so-called unstoppable attacks could work against me and Samehada? Hahaha!"
The revelation sent shockwaves through the battlefield.
The legendary Samehada, one of the Seven Swords of the Mist… It can absorb chakra!?
Even the usually composed Darui looked unsettled, thinking to himself.
No wonder A's attack was nullified. That blade is terrifying!
A's expression remained stoic, his steel-like face betraying no emotion as he locked eyes with Fuguki. Both warriors radiated murderous intent, their gazes promising death.
From a distance, Minato stood beside Ao, his face tense and his blue eyes gleaming with determination.
"Ao, I'm going after the other one," he said softly.
With that, Minato hurled a kunai into the air.
"Whoosh!"
The dark blade shot toward Yagura with deadly precision.
