Naruto : Shadow King

Chapter 155: Chapter 155 : Spar [2]

Guren saw the giant wolf launching itself towards her and on instinct she created a shield to stop the wolf. However, with how much more powerful the divine dog totality was after getting fused with his dead brother's power. That crystal shield which Guren put up, didn't last.

Though it was able to protect Guren from getting sliced in half with the wolf's claws but with just one hit, the entire shield was shattered.

Almost all the totality forms are really powerful. Especially the divine dog. After Danzo brutally killed 'white' one of Shika's divine dogs, Shika was very disappointed. In fact, he was planning on not carelessly using those weak Shikigami in high-level fighting again.

However, he quickly forfeits that idea, trying to save those Shikigami just because he treats them like pets which is foolish, what purpose do they have if he doesn't use them in a fight.

But that disappointment was turned to surprise fairly quickly upon seeing just how much stronger the totality form of the divine dogs was. And though he didn't plan to act on this thought, he still wanted to see what would happen if a few more of his Shikigami died and he put them all in a totality form.

With that realisation in mind, he quickly changed his strategy for fighting with his Shikigamis.

There are some Shikigami that he didn't plan to let out in fights, the kind which gave him strategic advantages like Max Elephant's water, Round Deer's healing and earlier before fighting Urashiki, lightning from Nue, now after making a binding vow, he no longer can use Nue's lightning and surprisingly even Nue can't use his lightning. And since now he had Rinnegan, he can fly so yeah…

But the rest of them, well he didn't have much problem putting them in a fight.

Back to fight though…

Guren was safe and unharmed due to her shield protecting her, however, the shield shattered with just one attack from the Totality wolf, sending her backwards due to the shockwaves.

Shika saw his opportunity and extended his shadow. The most irritating part about Shadow Manipulation was its speed. Though the technique was good and if hit was pretty powerful, however, it sometimes could be too slow to actually use in a head-on fight.

Most ninjas are so fast, that they can dodge bullets, let alone a slow-moving shadow.

This wasn't just Shika's problem, the majority of the Nara clan members have suffered from this one issue, and many tried to find a way around but they couldn't.

Even training, they can't change the nature of the shadow. Yin energy and shadow manipulation seem to be inherited lazily like them.

Shika however, was different. For him, it was just about coming up with a right binding vow to fix this issue. He has to say that he started to like the system of binding vows even more than his Ten Shadow sometimes. There are so many ways to use them.

So, another smart move on his part, he placed two binding vows on him. One is to immobilise his own movements when using shadow Jutsu of any kind, exposing himself to danger and in return he significantly increases the speed of his shadow possession jutsu.

Another Binding vow to somewhat offset the danger of the first one, It was a simple vow, allowing his clone to replace his position from the real Shika, anytime as long as the clone was in his shadow and Shika's in danger.

Meaning that on the off chance that someone did attack him when he was immobilised, he can still replace himself with a clone. It's just that he can't do it himself, it has to be the clone in his shadow. Which wasn't that big of an issue.

So, even when Shika was quite far from Guren, due to restricting his own movements, he was able to significantly increase his shadow's speed and reach up to Guren before she gained her balance.

Guren on the other hand, barely managed to regain her balance and was ready to pierce the darn wolf then and there, however, just as she was about to move. Once again all her movements were completely sealed.

And this time she wasn't ready for this, by the side of her eyes, she saw a shadow connecting to her and she gritted her teeth in anger.

But she didn't have time for that, the wolf was the bigger concern right now. The wolf didn't hold back and jumped over Guren when she was immobile.

Helpless, Guren couldn't do anything but got pinned down by the wolf which was almost as tall as her in all four.

"I'll take that as my win…" Shika smiled, still standing in his place, not being able to move while his shadow was restraining Guren.

"You…" Guren didn't seem to want to give up that easily, but she was helpless, she was completely unable to move right now.

"Grrrrrr…." Maybe sensing the unwillingness to agree on defeat from Guren, the wolf started growling at her, and it indeed looked menacing.

That wolf was strong enough and big enough to kill a fully sentient shinobi, let alone a kunoichi who no longer could defend herself.

Guren saw the razor-like fangs of the wolf and gulped. She couldn't help but sigh and finally said.

"I give up…" Knowing fully well that she really has lost.

"Don't look that down, you put up a really good fight. Especially for someone who doesn't have much real-life fighting experience." Shika smiled and let go of his shadow, restoring both his and Gurren's mobility while recalling the wolf.

"And thank you as well… Grey…" Shika slowly walked up to the giant wolf which was taller than him, him being only 13 it makes sense his lack of height.

As for the name, well he named his previous dogs white and black respectively so this name just felt right.

"Wuff…" The wolf barked much like a dog, reminding him that it was indeed a dog which looked like a giant wolf.

"You can go back now." He waved his hand and Grey vanished from his place.

"So, are you ready to believe that I have some credibility about my claims ?" Shika turned to Guren again, though this time he had a cheeky smile on his face. Making Guren more annoyed.

"Huff, you're annoying. I'll stay for now but don't think that is permanent. If I think that you're not worth my time then I will leave…" Guren acted much like a Tsundere and slowly got up, completely ignoring the hand Shika extended to help her up and went back to her seat.

"Great, so is anyone else who is dissatisfied with the current arrangement or doubts my strength as a leader or determination for my goals…" Shika asked turning to the rest of the people

Upon not getting any responses, he just nodded with satisfaction and went back to his seat. Ready to continue the meeting they felt it off.

"So, with that all done with, let's continue…

As I was staying before, we are not strong enough. What I show you wasn't even 10% of what I could do and even after that I believe I'm not ready for what we are going to face…." Shika said, taking out a water bottle and drinking it before saying this.

Of course, this aroused many rants from others, especially Guren who was dissatisfied after Shika said that he only used his 10% power to beat her.

"Okay okay… now listen." He was having a headache handling this many people honestly, he wasn't good with people, let alone cut out for leading an organization.

"1 Year…" He raised his voice, making others shut up as his chakra flared out. Sasuke, Karin, Guren, Suigetsu, Jugo, Haku and Kimimaru felt the powerful chakra and finally calmed down. Power is indeed the way to handle this kind of situation.

"ONE YEAR… that I'm willing to give all of you to get stronger. I plan to start a training program within the organization to make all of us stronger.

The training is mandatory for the members…" Shika said, especially the last part when he glanced at both Karin and Jugo.

"And the training is gonna be hard, very hard in fact so make sure that you all are mentally prepared for it, and this is also your last chance to opt out if you want to. I don't want some wussies in my organization who are the frogs at the bottom of the well and are not ready to get stronger…." Shika said, this time much of a demiere of a leader.

This proclamation from him silent everyone, while some looked nervous like Karin who suddenly remembered a certain green-clade youthful Jonin of the leaf who made her life a living hell with that absurd physical training regime of his, others like Jugo just didn't want to use their powers period.

But, many looked excited, planning to take the challenge head-on like Sasuke who was smirking and glaring at Shika like saying, 'Do you worst', in fact, Sasuke was looking for a way to get Shika to fight him or better train him if possible.

Others like Guren were the same, she too wanted to get stronger and more than anything she now plans to beat Shika one day.

The only one who had the most conflicted thoughts was Suigetsu, he honestly wasn't planning on getting stronger or anything he just wanted to become a sword collector and live his life happily after.

However, upon seeing the contemptible look from Shika, he gritted his teeth and stayed. He took had some dignity… god damn it.

And that's how started the training for an organization which might rival the likes of Akatsuki one day.

Maybe?
