Chapter 246: Chapter 245 : Kakashi Joins Aurora Order!!
"Mangekyō Sharingan?!"
Looking at those eyes, Obito froze in place.
A familiar feeling suddenly surged within him. The Mangekyō Sharingan felt like it had triggered memories buried deep in his mind.
A sharp pain immediately hit him, and he couldn't control himself as low growls escaped from his throat.
Every time he tried to reach those memories, a deafening roar echoed in his mind, mixed with a violent force of will, like the breath of a giant dragon, mercilessly attacking him and further destabilizing his already fragile mental state.
"Ahhh!!!"
Obito, in his Wraith form, suddenly detached from Kakashi's body.
He then collapsed to his knees, clutching his head. His veins bulged on his forehead, and his face twisted into a grimace, like a monstrous demon.
Looking at Obito in such pain, Shisui, although unsure of what was happening, realized that this might be their only chance. He struggled and shouted at Kakashi, "Hurry up and go! If we don't escape now, we're dead when he recovers!"
Kakashi, still stiff and cold from the Wraith's possession, knew that time was running out.
He bit his tongue, using his exceptional willpower to stumble like a toddler, struggling to help Shisui, who had lost an arm. The two of them ran deeper into the forest.
"Go faster!"
Hearing the crazed roars coming from behind, their fear grew stronger.
If Obito caught up, they would surely die.
Shisui didn't even have time to recover the severed arm; he hastily tied off the bleeding artery, gritted his teeth, and with a pale face, dragged Kakashi along as they ran at full speed.
But both were seriously injured—one physically, the other mentally.
Even though they pushed with all their might, they could barely move any faster. Their limbs ached, and they were exhausted, but they couldn't afford to stop.
Luckily, for some unknown reason, Obito was having an episode and didn't chase after them.
"Huff... huff..."
Both of them were panting heavily, feeling a burning pain in their lungs. Everything in front of them seemed to blur.
Even though they were near exhaustion, they didn't dare stop.
Thud, thud!
Two heavy sounds rang out, and the two fell from the trees.
After they suddenly stopped, the emptiness of exhaustion overwhelmed them both. No matter how hard Kakashi tried, he couldn't move a single finger.
Shisui, losing too much blood, had a face as pale as paper. His lips were purple, and his pupils were slightly unfocused. If it weren't for his chest still heaving, one might think he was already dead.
"Did we shake him off?" Shisui weakly asked.
"No... I don't know," Kakashi managed to catch his breath before bitterly adding, "There's no way out. If he catches up, we'll just have to wait to die."
Kakashi wasn't someone who liked to give up, but with chakra and stamina completely drained, if Obito caught up, he couldn't think of any way to escape. All he could do was hope that Obito had lost their trail.
Shisui said nothing, only gazing at his severed arm with a touch of melancholy.
"Shisui..."
Kakashi hesitated.
He knew what losing an arm meant for a ninja.
"It's fine, Kakashi," Shisui sighed, his voice bitter. "To still be alive is already the greatest luck."
At that moment, an eerie sound echoed through the forest ahead.
Both men, already on edge, broke into cold sweats. They stared at the area, fear evident on their faces.
Could it be... that guy caught up with us?!
Just as their minds ran wild, a middle-aged man wearing a black clergy robe appeared from the trees. His features were like an ancient sculpture, his eyes deep and dark. He held a black leather book in his arms and slowly walked toward them.
Looking at the two, he smiled warmly and said, "Ah, two lost lambs. This must be the revelation of my Lord."
With a kind expression, he continued, "Greetings, you two lost lambs. Allow me to introduce to you our God, the True Creator!"
"..."
"..."
"What does it mean to escape from the wolf's den, only to enter the tiger's lair?!"
By some twisted fate, they had encountered 'Mr. A' from the Aurora Order at this very moment!
At this point, Kakashi and Shisui were utterly hopeless. Without saying a word, they both cursed their miserable fate with the most venomous words in their hearts.
"The great True Creator is the first of all creators!"
As always, Mr. A was faithfully preaching to the two lost lambs.
"However, under His command, the angels betrayed and consumed their Lord when He was unprepared. Now, our Lord has returned from death. If you join the 'Aurora Order,' you will find redemption when the end times arrive."
Kakashi and Shisui exchanged a look, completely abandoning any desire to survive.
It wasn't even about their injuries—no matter if they were in peak condition, even if they were tied together, they still wouldn't be able to defeat 'Mr. A'!
Mr. A didn't seem to care whether they were listening. He continued to drone on about the 'True Creator,' the betrayal and consumption by His angels, and the teachings of their faith.
"We found you."
Just then, Obito, now a Wraith, suddenly appeared with a flash.
He had discarded his mask, revealing a scarred, hideous face, and his pupils were burning with fury. "When, did I ever allow you to leave?!"
With that, he directed his Wraiths to attack, cruelly adding, "Neither of you will escape! I'll torture you both and make you feel my pain!"
The pale, wailing Wraiths were about to reach them.
"Get lost!"
Suddenly, a sharp rebuke filled with anger halted the Wraiths.
Mr. A, wearing a black robe and holding a scripture, stood in front of them, his body surrounded by a thick shadow. His lowered eyelids lifted slightly, and he spoke calmly, "Sir, there's a matter of order here. Can't you see? I am in the process of saving these two lost lambs?"
Looking at Mr. A standing in front of them, Kakashi was so moved he almost cried.
He had never felt that the Aurora Order and Mr. A could be so… right in his eyes!
"Do you want to die?"
Obito's eyes were filled with malice as he viciously glared at the man. "I'll only say this once: Get out of the way!"
Upon hearing this, Mr. A's expression remained unchanged. His brows slightly furrowed, as if he were considering something.
At that moment, a sudden thought flashed through Kakashi's mind. He quickly spoke up, saying, "Sir, I've thought about it carefully, and I believe the Aurora Order is a great choice. It has a lot of potential, and the True Creator is just amazing! So, we've decided we want to join the Aurora Order!"
"Huh?"
Shisui, standing beside him, was stunned after hearing this.
Mr. A paused for a second, then looked at Kakashi with a meaningful gaze, "Are you really sure you want to join the Aurora Order?"
"Of course!"
Kakashi, worried that he might have taken too long to answer, pounded his chest and said urgently, "Please, this is a request of mine for my entire life! Please, let me join the Aurora Order!"
