Chapter 232: Chapter 231 : Obito's Love!!

A sudden, pitch-black figure appeared, immediately putting Kakashi on high alert.

"Who are you?" he asked, crouching with his short blade held defensively in front of him. His legs were bent, ready to spring into action, and his sharp gaze locked onto the intruder.

Instinctively, he categorized this figure as a mastermind, the one who had manipulated Obito into his current state. In a grave tone, he called out, "Obito, don't be swayed by him! Snap out of it!"

"Snap out of it? Swayed?" Obito's voice burst out, followed by a chilling laugh. "Hahaha—"

Kakashi's words seemed like the greatest joke to Obito, who laughed so hard he could barely stay upright. Between gasps, he managed, "You're still so naive, Kakashi. Open your eyes and look at me carefully. I am more awake than I've ever been!"

The laughter cut off abruptly.

Obito straightened suddenly, his scarred and pale face looking almost corpse-like as it came into full view. The grotesque visage etched itself into Kakashi's mind.

Obito's expression twisted into something monstrous, a blend of fury and madness. His crimson eyes burned with a deep, murderous intent, so intense it seemed tangible.

The air around them grew frigid, as though an ancient, malevolent beast had escaped its prison and was radiating an abyssal malice.

Fear. Rage. Hatred.

Despair. Struggle. Bloodlust.

A whirlwind of negative emotions coalesced into a wave of overwhelming malice, crashing over Kakashi like a tsunami and making him feel as if he were staring into the depths of an abyss.

"Do you see now, Kakashi? This is who I am!"

One moment, Obito was nearly deranged, but in the next, he returned to an eerie calm. His voice lowered to a flat tone. "I'll say this one last time—stay out of this. For Rin's sake, I'll spare your life. I don't want to make 'her' sad. Do you understand?"

Perhaps only when speaking of Rin did Obito's voice carry even a flicker of warmth.

Obito's gaze softened as he looked at Rin's grave. He slowly crouched and brushed the dirt from the headstone with his hand. In a gentle voice, he said, "It's okay, Rin. Don't worry. I promised you that as long as Kakashi stays out of the way, I won't hurt him. Isn't that right?"

"Obito…"

Kakashi's eyes darkened as he watched Obito's erratic behavior, words caught in his throat.

"Shh!"

Obito raised a finger to his lips, signaling for silence. "Don't speak, Kakashi. Rin is talking to me."

With that, he turned and pressed his ear to the headstone, adopting a listening posture.

"Just a little longer, okay? Don't worry, Rin. I'll take you back soon. This time, I won't let you leave me ever again."

"Rin, I knew it. The person you love the most is me."

"Kakashi? Don't worry about him. I'm the one who truly loves you, Rin."

"That's right, as long as it's just the two of us, that's enough."

Obito seemed to be talking to the gravestone, his eyes full of gentleness. He occasionally stroked the hard stone as if he were caressing the face of the deceased girl.

"Obito, face reality!"

Kakashi, unable to watch him indulge in the illusion any longer, gritted his teeth and exposed the truth. "Rin is already dead!"

"Bullshit!"

However, Kakashi didn't expect that one sentence would strike a nerve in Obito.

"Rin isn't dead!"

Obito glared at Kakashi with a twisted expression, growling like a wild beast. "She's still alive! I heard her! I heard Rin whispering in my ear that she's still alive!"

"That's just an illusion. Face the truth, Obito!" Kakashi pointed at him sharply, his voice heavy.

"Open your eyes and look clearly, Obito! That's just a gravestone, not Rin. The real Rin is dead! She won't come back. Do you understand? She's dead!"

"Ahhh—!"

Hearing this, Obito's pupils contracted, and he screamed, clutching his head.

"No! No! This is impossible! Rin isn't dead!"

In the next moment, Obito charged at Kakashi, roaring like a beast. "It's you! It's definitely you! You want to take Rin away from me!"

With the full force of his killing instincts, Obito slammed a powerful punch straight toward Kakashi's face. "Wake up!"

Kakashi abandoned his short blade and gathered his chakra into his fist, swinging it with all his might.

Bang!

The fists collided, creating ripples in the air.

It seemed like an evenly matched battle at first, but Kakashi quickly realized how naive and foolish his thoughts were.

The unstoppable force surged like an avalanche the moment they clashed. The violent energy flooded into Kakashi's body, filling every bone and muscle, causing them to scream in agony. The difference in power was so overwhelming it was almost despairing.

The excruciating pain from his torn muscles and bones made Kakashi spit out a mouthful of hot blood as his body was sent flying back at an alarming speed.

The nearly straight path smashed through more than a dozen hard tombstones before finally crashing heavily to the ground.

What just happened?

As Kakashi's mind cleared and returned to reality, the intense pain from his body almost caused him to lose consciousness again.

Boom!

Another wave of dust and tremors.

Obito's expression was twisted with rage. His eyes were bloodshot and wild, filled with a bloodthirsty desire, staring at Kakashi below him like a beast.

"Obito?"

Kakashi spat out blood, his eyes struggling to focus on the figure before him.

"I won't let anyone take Rin away from me, including you, Kakashi!"

Obito's face was filled with fury as his fists rained down on Kakashi like a storm, as if unleashing all the suppressed anger and desire within him.

Bang! Bang! Bang!!!

Kakashi was forced to endure the fury coming from Obito.

Each punch caused his entire body to burn with pain, like a massive stone mill crushing his muscles and bones, grinding him down to pieces.

He didn't know how many punches he took, but by the time Obito was done, Kakashi's body was battered, nearly unrecognizable.

Yet Obito seemed lost in his madness, still immersed in his own world of frenzy. He grabbed Kakashi by the hair and dragged him to the tombstone, slamming his head repeatedly against Rin's grave, leaving a thick streak of blood, his expression cold and merciless.

At that moment, Black Zetsu suddenly grabbed Obito's wrist. "Enough, stop now."

Obito turned his head with a cruel, bloodthirsty glare. "Do you want to die, Black Zetsu?"

"I'm just reminding you," Black Zetsu said lightly. "Time's almost up. If you keep going, others will show up soon."

"So what?"

Obito grinned, his eyes fierce and savage.

"Those people won't let you take Rin."

Black Zetsu shrugged, seemingly unconcerned, and said, "I don't mind, but I wonder what you think."

Upon hearing this, the madness in Obito's eyes faded. He tossed the half-dead Kakashi aside and coldly said, "You're right, Black Zetsu. Right now, the most important thing is Rin!"

Obito dug through the dirt above with his bare hands and forcefully shattered the coffin lid.

Looking inside the coffin, where Rin, who had been dead for two months and had already decayed into a skeleton, lay, a deep affection and longing filled his eyes. He sickly cradled the bones, kissing the pale skull, and whispered gently, "Rin, I'm here. I've come to take you home."

Meanwhile, Black Zetsu had approached Kakashi.

With a mocking gaze, Black Zetsu looked at Kakashi, whose body was battered and barely clinging to life. It sneered, "Let the madman face the reality. This was never realistic."
