Chapter 9: 9 Training Montage
As their fists collide, pain travels throughout his arm. He finally understands why more people don't use Shadow Clone Jutsu. Besides splitting your chakra between each clone, it also establishes a link. Through this link, pain is transmitted from one clone to all the others. The reason they disappear in one hit is to stop the pain and prevent you from breaking the concentration on the jutsu altogether.
Regular shadow clone jutsu is still bearable, but the pain from one hundred different bodies would probably fry your mind. The fact that Naruto can do it is insane and makes almost no sense.
Right now, our legs are too short, so throwing punches is the best we can do. We can't even make any quick dodges without tripping over our own feet. The fact that we are the same person makes this dull; it's like fighting a mirror. Even so, the experience bar is moving ever so slowly. When the jutsu is released, all their experiences will return to me, so my levels should double from what they are now.
Practicing other jutsu is basically pointless. I'm not twisted enough to cast Ninjutsu on myself, and it will damage the room. If it's like Skyrim and you gain levels by damage done to the opponent, casting a really big jutsu on a lot of people should level me up pretty fast. Genjutsu also needs a target.
After an hour of practice, clone two was actually able to walk on the wall, so his current task is to regen chakra to make more clones.
After five hours, the current clone count is up to five. It was six, but after clone three regained some chakra, he released himself so clone one and I could have more chakra. His sacrifice shall not be forgotten.
During the sixth hour, something big happened. We discovered a bug in the system.
Clone four looked at Zitsu and nodded his head. "Ushi Tora, Mystical Palm." A green aura flashed on his hands momentarily before fading.
Upon seeing this, Zitsu's eyes lit up. "Clone four, continue to practice. Clone two and five, restore some chakra to make clones six and seven. And clone four, when clones six and seven are made, you must sacrifice yourself to spread your experience."
Clone four nodded with a heavy heart.
The other Clones said at the same time, "You will not be forgotten, brother."
He then sat down and practiced, trying to get the technique to remain and not fade away. Meanwhile, clone two and five began gathering chakra in preparation for the split.
Looking down at his swollen and red hands, he frowned slightly. Clone one and himself could no longer make a proper fist, so they switched to palm strikes. But even their wrists were swollen now.
Looking at clone one, Zitsu put on a bitter smile. "For the team," he said.
"For the team," clone one replied with a smile. No other words were needed because their thinking was the same. A clone may get lucky and find out how to do a jutsu before the others, but the base thoughts are still the same.
Clone one slowly laid down on the ground and bit his teeth. Seeing this, Zitsu walked forward and delivered a kick to his side. All the clones suffered, but none made a sound, because they knew their brother was suffering more.
Pulling his leg back and forth, he unloaded a series of kicks into clone one's side. Sometimes he got carried away and delivered a few stomps as well, but feeling the pain quickly reminded him.
Kicking was a lot more tiresome than punching, and the stamina drain was massive, so he had to take a few breaks.
After twenty minutes, clone four released, giving what little chakra and his knowledge of Mystical Palm to everyone else. Clones six and seven were created, and all four began practicing on clone one.
All Zitsu could do was watch because he couldn't perform the hand seals, and he wouldn't know if he gained any experience until one of the clones was released.
After twenty minutes, Clone One appeared slightly better but still badly damaged. Suddenly, Clone Two stood up.
"It's time for me to go, brothers. I noticed that I'm better at the technique than everyone else, and I assume it's from my experience with wall walking," Clone Two said, slowly closing his eyes.
Everyone gazed at him, their mouths slightly open.
"No need for long goodbyes," he formed the seal of confrontation, "KAI!" and vanished in a puff of smoke.
As Clone Two's chakra and experiences were shared, everyone nodded their heads.
Zitsu closed his eyes and noticed that the Ninjutsu bar had filled by 1/6 and had already overtaken Taijutsu.
Clones Five, Six, and Seven continued the healing of Clone One with their new experiences.
Observing this, Zitsu nodded his head. He sat down, struggling to form the seal of confrontation, and began to recover his chakra and stamina.
Twenty minutes later, Clone Five was released, leaving only Clones Six and Seven.
Fifteen minutes later, Clone Seven was released.
Twenty-two minutes later, Clone Six was released.
Looking at his half-filled Ninjutsu bar, Zitsu smiled bitterly. While the gains were great, the sacrifices were hard. He opened his eyes and saw Clone One standing in front of him, fully healed. He stood up and held out his hands.
Clone One made the seals, and his hands glowed green. Holding Zitsu's hands in his own, he began to heal them. The process took a little over a minute, but it was finally done.
Looking down at his fully recovered hands, Zitsu smiled.
Clone One and Zitsu nodded at each other, and Clone One disappeared in a cloud of smoke.
Closing his eyes, Zitsu looked at his stats.
[Health 100] [Chakra 20/138] [Stamina 38/102]
His Taijutsu is 1/5 filled, and his Ninjutsu is 5/6 filled.
Taking a deep breath, he sits down and begins to recover.
To fully recover, it takes two and a half hours. When he's fully recovered, he rises to his feet and crosses his fingers. "Shadow Clone Jutsu."
[Chakra 20/138]
His chakra divides, and six puffs of smoke appear around him.
"No need to waste time, we know what to do." Zitsu looks at his clones.
Everyone in the room nods and surrounds a single clone. Suddenly, six little fists fly and hit the clone, causing it to keel over in pain. All seven people grit their teeth as they continue their beating.
After beating a clone for twenty minutes, they stop to recover chakra. After thirty minutes of recovery, Zitsu stands above the beaten clone.
"Mystical Palm." Performing the hand signs for the jutsu for the first time feels strange yet familiar to him. Dropping down, he begins to heal the clone while the other five continue to recover chakra.
After a minute of healing, a bar appears in his vision showing Ninjutsu leveled from 0 to 1. His overall level filled by half.
"Ok boys, we are in business!" Zitsu becomes excited about finally making progress.
All six of them surround the clone and continue beating.
They repeated this process day and night.
On the second day, he leveled Taijutsu to level 1, bringing his total level up to 2. As he leveled up, he got 10 points to add to his health, chakra, or stamina, but he decided to hold off for now. He also got his first perk point, and he debated on where to add it with his clones.
[Reduce stamina consumption by 5%]
With this change, they would be able to train for longer periods and level up their Taijutsu skills faster. However, some argued that the Ninjutsu perk was better.
[Reduce Ninjutsu cost by 2%]
Their argument was that they wouldn't have to waste as much time regenerating chakra for Mystical Palm. Although 2% may not seem like a lot, it adds up over a week, and they run out of chakra faster than stamina. After five minutes of debate, they decided to put the perk into Ninjutsu, bringing it to ⅕ for the first perk.
After the Ninjutsu skill levelled up to one, it became harder to level. It had been almost a day, and it was only ¼ filled. After talking it out, they figured out that the injuries weren't severe enough, but there was no point in hurting themselves, so they decided to take it slow and steady. Also, the experience gained was only from Zitsu, and when the other clones were released, they should see a significant boost.
On the fifth day, the Ninjutsu skill finally managed to level up to 2, but the overall level only filled up by ⅓ this time. Taijutsu was around 50%, so it wouldn't take much longer.
At the end of the sixth day, all seven people looked at each other.
"It's the moment of truth, guys. It's time to collect on our efforts," Zitsu declared.
One of the clones raised their hand. "Yes, clone five?" Zitsu looked over.
"Wouldn't our training go faster if the clones were to periodically release to share experience so we can get more levels and perks? Training with the same six of us seemed like a waste."
The six other people's eyes widened as they looked at clone five.
"You're the only one of us who had this idea. Why did you wait until we were done to speak up?!?" they exclaimed.
Clone five simply shrugged, and seeing this, Zitsu crossed his fingers and shouted, "KAI!"
