Chapter 1: Ren Uzumaki
A boy in his early teens, with dazzling red hair, sprinted toward the distant mountaintop at a speed beyond that of ordinary humans. He leaped from one branch to another with such swiftness that he appeared as nothing more than a blurry shadow. By the time one realized what had passed, the boy was already out of sight. Above him, an eagle soared through the sky, letting out a shrill cry as it dove toward the boy's head. However, it meant no harm; the boy had simply reached his destination. At the mountaintop, where temperatures plummeted near freezing, snow blanketed the tree leaves, and the breath escaping the young ninja's mouth formed a trail of white mist. The eagle landed on his right shoulder, shaking off the snow that clung to its feathers.
The boy approached a crude wooden cabin, just large enough to store supplies but unsuitable for human habitation. Inside, he found a large bowl filled with ice mixed with salt, which had formed overnight. He retrieved his supplies from the bag strapped to his back: a copper bowl, milk, honey, sugar, and fruits. The boy began preparing the ingredients, placing the copper bowl on the ice. After adding the milk and honey, he set to work on a special treat unknown to the world around him—he was making ice cream.
As he reached the foot of the mountain, the village of the Uzumaki clan came into view in the distance, and the sun had already begun to rise in the sky. The boy quickened his pace, eager to surprise his sister with her favorite treat for her birthday. He had meticulously crafted a makeshift container to slow the melting process, but it was far from the advanced technology of freezers and refrigerators. To create even a simple ice cream, he had to journey to the mountaintop. Yet, with the speed of a ninja, he was confident he could return before it spoiled.
...…
As he dashed through the forest, the boy's thoughts turned to his sister. He could already envision her delighted expression when she tasted the ice cream. But when he reached his house and opened the door to her room, her bed was empty, and she was nowhere to be seen. Just as he was about to start looking for her, a loud bang echoed, and something struck the back of his head, causing him to tumble forward. The bag containing the ice cream had already been snatched away by a red-haired girl, around six or seven years old, with violet eyes standing atop him. Her eyes blazed with intensity, and her hair flared like a wild inferno.
"You're late, my brother," Kushina said angrily, rummaging through the bag to see what was inside. However, upon spotting the ice cream container, her anger dissipated in an instant, replaced by a big smile. The fierce girl vanished, and in her place stood an adorable girl, giggling and jumping for joy while holding the ice cream container.
The boy, wincing in pain, sat up and rubbed his head, a smile forming on his face. The hassle of it all was worth it. Seeing his fiery sister, who sometimes became a little violent, jumping in utter happiness was truly worth all the trouble in the world.
"Happy birthday, Kushina," he said. "But you shouldn't hit your brother."
Kushina leaped onto him, clinging like a small monkey around his neck. "But you should be here before me when I wake up! It's my birthday, so it's reasonable that you follow my every wish, my brother. I couldn't sleep the whole night, you know. I knew you would be preparing something."
"Then return the ice cream. I shouldn't have gone to make it, and you didn't even thank me," he grumbled playfully.
"Nope, I'm not giving it back. Also, I'm not going to share it with you. Hee hee," Kushina said, attempting to flee from the room. The boy tried to stop her, but before they could do anything, the sliding door opened, revealing a man in his middle age with red hair, just like the siblings, and sharp features in sleepy eyes. He was tall, and a small scar ran down the left side of his face, a testament to his battle-hardened experience.
"Ren, Kushina, it's just morning, and you two have already started making noise. Don't you have any remorse for not letting your father sleep peacefully? And Ren, you shouldn't annoy your sister," the man, their father, said while rubbing his eyes. "Happy birthday, Kushina. You're growing up so fast. Your mom would be so happy if she were here to see you." There was joy in his eyes, mingled with a hint of sadness. "okay, you guys go and get ready while I prepare the breakfast."
"yes, father." The two sibling said in unison. After went out of the room to prepare their meal.
.....
As the morning light streamed through the window, illuminating the room, Kushina's laughter echoed, filling the air with warmth. Ren, still rubbing the back of his head, couldn't help but chuckle at his sister's antics.
"Come on, let's go outside! I want to show you something!" Kushina exclaimed, her violet eyes sparkling with excitement. She tugged at Ren's arm, pulling him toward the door.
"Alright, alright," he replied, reluctantly letting go of the momentary pain in his head.
The sun was now fully risen, casting a golden hue over the village of the Uzumaki clan. The air was crisp, and the scent of blooming flowers filled their surroundings. As they stepped out, they were greeted by the sight of their neighbors preparing for the day, some waving cheerfully at the siblings.
Kushina led Ren to a small clearing near the edge of the forest, where a beautiful cherry blossom tree stood, its branches adorned with delicate pink flowers. "Look! Isn't it perfect?" she said, her voice filled with awe.
Ren smiled, appreciating the beauty of the moment. "It really is. But what's so special about it?"
Kushina grinned mischievously. "I want to have a picnic here! We can celebrate my birthday with ice cream under the cherry blossoms!"
"Sounds like a plan," Ren agreed, setting the ice cream down on a blanket they had spread out on the grass. They both sat down, and Ren began to scoop out the ice cream, handing a generous portion to Kushina. As they enjoyed their treat, the siblings shared stories and laughter, reminiscing about their childhood adventures. Ren could not help but feel a sense of pride watching his sister, who was growing into a strong and spirited young girl. However, a sense of wariness also started to fill his heart.
Ren was originally not from this world. He had been reincarnated in the world of Naruto, and having known the future of what would happen, he was prepared to flee from this land of whirlpool before its imminent destruction. It was not an exceedingly difficult task for him. Ren was not a hero; he prioritized his own well-being over the people of this clan and village. From childhood, he had been trying to be strong enough to survive on his own. But after experiencing the warmth of a family that he had been denied in his past life, he could not let his parents die in the destruction of the Uzumaki clan. The plan was to escape with his family together. He was an unknown Uzumaki with no involvement in the original storyline. If the future remained unchanged, the world would be saved by Naruto and Sasuke. Therefore, he did not have to interfere in any way—perhaps just stay out of reach of the main storyline.
But everything changed after Kushina was born. The realization hit him hard: his sister would die, just because of some delusional plan with no actual meaning. She would be used as a vessel for the Nine-Tails. A dark future awaited them.
Not long after, their mother also died due to complications with her health. His carefully laid plans and the future of his family were falling apart. For once, he thought of escaping then and there with his father and Kushina. Maybe he could convince his father in some way. But that was not the most difficult thing. The entire Naruto plot was closely entangled with Kushina. Her disappearance would bring irreversible changes to the plot, such that the protagonist would not exist in the future. Ren had no faith in his ability to defeat Madara or Obito in the future, or even Otsutsuki Kaguya, without the help of Indra and Asura's power. Changing the future irresponsibly would bring about consequences he could not handle. Perhaps saving the Uzumaki clan would ease his problems, but given the recent events happening in the clan, he was sure it was beyond his reach. He needed a new plan, and he needed it fast.
