Shikamaru analyzed the entire situation: Sasuke, the Sand Village, the tailed beast, Konoha.

Now, with Kakashi and Might Guy dispatched, there were likely more complications.

Perhaps the Hokage needed someone to help solve the challenges in this situation.

Upon arriving at the Hokage's office, Shikamaru immediately saw Tsunade frowning.

Though she was dealing with some issues, her expression clearly revealed her anxiety.

"Hokage-sama!"

"Shikamaru?"

Tsunade glanced at Shikamaru. As Shikaku's son, she naturally knew him well.

"What is it?"

Hearing this, Shikamaru paused, "We'd like to request to join the mission to subdue Sasuke."

He handed over a list of names.

Sakura and the others had written their names on it.

Seeing the list,

Tsunade noticed that Sakura and the others had all been promoted to Chūnin.

The Konoha Twelve were now all Chūnin.

Looking at the list, Tsunade suddenly felt a sense of relief.

Initially, she had been considering which ninjas to send to support Kakashi and Might Guy.

Now, Shikamaru and the others volunteering for the mission seemed to resolve her dilemma.

Sending overly powerful ninjas would go against her intentions.

She simply wanted to put on a show, though she couldn't openly say that.

If the dispatched ninjas were too weak, the Sand ninjas wouldn't be satisfied.

The middle ground was to send ninjas who appeared strong but weren't overly so.

Shikamaru and his peers fit the role perfectly.

"That's Sasuke Uchiha we're talking about. I don't need to remind you how strong he is, do I?"

Shikamaru nodded. "We understand. As his former comrades, we want to give it one last try to persuade Sasuke to return to Konoha!"

Hearing this, Tsunade nodded. "Alright! I'll approve your request to join this mission!"

"Prepare immediately. Kakashi and Might Guy are ready to depart!"

"Your mission is primarily to rescue Gaara and secondarily to subdue Sasuke Uchiha!"

"The primary goal is the Sand Village's One-Tail Jinchūriki."

Though Tsunade didn't explicitly say so, Shikamaru understood her meaning.

In other words, as long as they rescued Gaara, the mission would be considered a success. Sasuke could be let go if necessary.

That was her intent.

Shikamaru smiled. As expected, he had guessed correctly.

"Rest assured, Hokage-sama, we'll do our best to persuade Sasuke to return to Konoha!"

Persuade?

Tsunade caught the undertone in Shikamaru's words if they couldn't persuade him, they wouldn't take action.

"Go!"

Shikamaru nodded and left the Hokage's office.

The mission to subdue Sasuke Uchiha while rescuing Gaara, the One-Tail Jinchūriki, was launched at full speed.

However, Sasuke's whereabouts remained elusive.

Thanks to the Aburame clan and a forehead protector Kakashi found at Sasuke's home,

they could track Sasuke's scent.

The first stage of the mission locating Sasuke Uchiha had officially begun.

At that moment, Sasuke was assisting in sealing the One-Tail's chakra.

"I get the feeling... someone's talking about me."
