Naruto: Reborn as Uchiha Obito

Chapter 54: Everyone’s a Genius When I Show Up

"Father..."

After hearing Obito's words, Koyuki Kazahana's face turned a little gloomy.

"You're lying to me. How could you kill Dotō?"

"None of the ninjas from Konoha or the other five great nations could defeat him before, and even that white-haired ninja is still a Konoha shinobi."

"You think you're better than the ninjas from Konoha?"

Koyuki Kazahana gave him the look—full of doubt, full of sass.

"..."

Hearing this, Obito fell silent.

What the fuck... did she just compare Kakashi's weak ass to me?

He glanced at the little princess on the bed.

Well, to be fair, she was just five years old. What the hell could she possibly know?

In her tiny worldview, the five great nations probably seemed like the pinnacle of power.

Which...okay, was what most people thought in the ninja world.

Obito just smiled faintly.

"Oh, don't lump me in with that washed-up man."

"That clown Dotō? If I wanted to squash him like a bug, I'd do it in one move."

But even with that confident flex, Koyuki still looked at him like "Nah, I ain't buying it", her disbelief practically glowing from her eyes.

Seeing this, Obito paused. He remembered the fear in her expression when he first mentioned taking her back to the Land of Snow.

Clearly, Dotō had traumatized the poor girl hard.

Add Kakashi's embarrassing defeat on top of that, and now she had this overinflated image of Dotō as some kind of god-tier threat.

Even Jonin couldn't beat him before... so how could some random guy in a mask do it, right?

Obito sighed internally.

Why is my aura not working on this brat at all? Shouldn't she be trembling and thinking in her heart "Oh no! This guy is way stronger than my evil uncle!"—like every other character in anime??

But no... with me, everyone suddenly becomes a genius with IQ 300.

Kids are a pain in the ass.

Since talking didn't work...

Time for Plan B.

Obito jumped down from the windowsill, walked straight to the bed, ripped off the blanket, and grabbed Koyuki Kazahana by the back of her collar like a sack of potatoes.

The princess absolutely panicked.

"Let go of me!"

"You're really here to kidnap me!!"

"Help!!"

"Tsk. Scream all you want...no one's coming."

After all, everyone else in the hotel had already fallen under Obito's illusion, deep in dreamland.

"Since we can't have a civilized conversation, we're done talking. You're coming with me obediently."

If Talk no Jutsu and Aura intimidation both fail, you gotta go old-school and drag their ass out.

"Let go of me!!"

She flailed in the air like a chihuahua in a backpack, but Obito brought her face to face and spoke flatly:

"Heh. I gave you a chance."

"Originally, I was gonna be nice, pity you a little, offer a fair trade."

"But my patience?"

"It has limits."

"You spat on my kindness. So now? We're doing it my way."

"From this moment on... you don't have a choice."

"I..."

Looking into his dead-serious eyes, Koyuki Kazahana stiffened. Her lips trembled.

"If you want to blame someone, blame yourself for your cowardice."

"You're so afraid of the man who killed your father and stole his country... so afraid you don't even dare to take revenge."

"With that kind of cowardice...whether as a princess or as a daughter... you're not qualified."

After saying that, Obito no longer paid attention to her. He activated Kamui and disappeared from the room with her.

Land of Water – South Island Port

As space twisted, Obito's figure appeared on the deck of a cargo ship.

Onboard, Terumi Jun, who was overseeing his clan's supply loading, immediately noticed him.

"My lord!" Terumi Jun quickly bowed with respect.

Obito glanced at him and gave a direct order:

"Set sail immediately. Head for the Land of Snow."

"And call your daughter."

"Yes, sir!"

After receiving the command, Terumi Jun nodded and had someone call for Terumi Mei.

When she arrived and saw Obito again, her emotions were complicated, but she kept her composure and bowed slightly.

"My lord… what do you need from me?"

"Hmm." Obito nodded. "You're coming with me first to the Land of Snow."

"Yes, sir." Terumi Mei was slightly stunned but replied quickly and respectfully.

Obito stepped forward, placed a hand on her shoulder, and said:

"Relax."

As soon as the words left his mouth, space began to twist. In the blink of an eye, the two of them vanished from the deck.

After that, Obito returned to the base again, grabbed Yugao, and then departed for the Land of Snow.

Inside Kamui Space

Three girls, each from wildly different backgrounds and ages, were now awkwardly staring at each other.

Yugao had no interest in Mei and was instead giving a very confused look to the little girl sitting nearby.

That girl makeup still faintly pink was curled up on the floor, hugging her knees, chin resting on her arms, staring back at them like a scared rabbit.

Terumi Mei, on the other hand, had been curiously observing the Kamui dimension until Yugao appeared then promptly began staring her down too.

Not a single word was spoken.

The silence stretched. The three of them sat, eyes darting in awkward directions, until the entire space felt like a socially-inept tea party hosted by a time-space jutsu.

A Day Later — Land of Snow

The land was blanketed in thick snow, soft and fluffy, with not a single speck of dirt in sight. It was like the entire country had been swallowed by winter.

Everywhere you looked: silver trees, ice-covered branches, frozen forests glistening under a pale sky.

On top of a cliff, four figures stood cloaked against the cold, staring down at the work happening below.

"What are we doing here?" Yugao asked, eyes squinting through the wind.

"Building railroads," Obito answered casually.

"Railroads? Never heard of those. What's it for?"

"They're used to run something called a 'train'."

Below, long twisting vines of metal tracks snaked across the snowy ground, and Obito couldn't help but feel impressed.

The Land of Snow was situated northwest of the Land of Earth, a massive island covered in snow year-round. Bigger than the Land of Rivers and nearly half the size of the Land of Fire.

But due to its harsh climate, farming was a joke, and per capita GDP was laughably low. No major nations bothered fighting over it.

To survive, the Snow Country went all in on technology.

And damn, did they go hard.

Trains, airships, chakra-powered aircraft, geothermal generators, illusion projectors the size of a building...

Obito stood there thinking, These people said fuck agriculture, we're going full sci-fi.

This was exactly why he chose to build a base here.

While other nations were still running around in sandals throwing kunai, the Land of Snow had straight-up industrialized.

Obito couldn't help but admire it.
