The two attackers froze. Their eyes went blank then, with a soft poof, the blades in their hands stabbed directly into each other.

Bright red blood sprayed out.

Their bodies slumped off the tree and crashed hard onto the ground below.

At the same time, beside Terumi Jun, the two other Jonin ninjas suddenly splashed, their forms breaking into clear water puddles on the ground.

Yugao suddenly appeared behind a shinobi. The purple sword light in her hand swept like a crescent moon.

"Sky Slash!"

The enemy turned and ducked fast just in time.

The blade passed overhead, slicing off a few strands of his hair that fluttered in the air.

Then... he looked up.

A small foot slammed toward his face.

"Bang~!"

Terumi Jun crossed his arms to block just in time but the force of the kick still launched him through the air.

"Huh~."

Obito raised an eyebrow.

It was clear now... most of the Terumi clan had weak Taijutsu. Pretty mid-tier hand-to-hand, if he were being honest.

But he understood why.

The clan relied on Boil Release techniques filling the battlefield with corrosive acid mist and hiding inside it. Most enemies wouldn't dare charge through that soup to fight up close.

So naturally, they'd grown lazy with body combat.

But if you're unlucky enough to face someone like Yugao who can ignore the mist completely well... this was the result.

The water drills slammed into her armor. The immense force sent her skidding backwards, leaving long gouges in the ground with her feet.

Even while being blown back, she swung her sword.

The blade slashed across Terumi Jun's waist, tearing a deep gash.

It wasn't fatal, thanks to the interference, but it hurt.

"Huh~."

A second later, a new figure landed between them slender, poised.

"Father!"

A girl with long brown hair stood in front of Terumi Jun, shielding him. Her eyes darted, wary of Obito and Yugao.

She took in the carnage.

The scattered corpses. The blood. The stillness.

A flicker of pain crossed her face.

Then her eyes hardened, and she glared at the enemies standing before her.

"You'll pay for this..."

Obito, who heard her words, suddenly froze and touched his chin.

Why the fuck does this situation and these words feel familiar... Obito thought.

The people of the same clan are dead, the father's gravely injured… you were somewhere off-screen, and then when you finally got your screen time, you showed up, saw all the shit the villains did to your family

And the next part should be some hidden power you've never awakened before suddenly erupting.

Or some evil beast sealed inside you takes over and turns the whole screen red.

He looked at her carefully.

No dark energy leaking out of her body.

No glowing eyes.

No sudden transformation into full monster mode and smashing him around like Hulk did to Loki.

Had me sweating for nothing, Obito thought, wiping the nonexistent sweat off his forehead with exaggerated relief.

After hearing the girl's voice, Terumi Jun still trapped by the Dark Curtain Jutsu couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief. Then his face changed again:

"Why did you come?! My order to you was to protect the people and withdraw!"

"Run, you are no match for them. Remember your mission!"

"Father, don't say anything... let's go!"

Terumi picked up her father with a stubborn face, and in an instant, fled quickly with him.

"Oh, Terumi Mei..."

Looking at the direction they fled in, Obito's eyes flashed.

The future hot Mizukage herself. Her face still looked a little immature, and her outfit… definitely not the sexy anime version from years later.

Then, Obito said lightly to Yugao:

"You stay here, collect the bodies, and wait for me to come back."

"Mei, put me down. If you keep going like this, they'll catch up. Save yourself, at least."

"Don't be willful! Be obedient. Let me go and run!" Terumi Jun shouted, his face red with anger.

"As a daughter, am I supposed to abandon my father to die, and live on in guilt for the rest of my life?!"

Tears glimmered at the corners of Terumi's eyes. Her voice was sharp, resolute.

"I..."

Terumi Jun was stunned. He stayed silent for a moment then finally let out a soft, broken word:

"Sorry..."

At that moment, a flirtatious voice echoed through the trees:

"Tch. It really is a good little father-daughter drama…"

Obito couldn't help but applaud in his mind.

He'd been watching for a while now, but that line...

'If I can't even save my own father, what kind of genius am I!'

For a second, he thought he wandered into One Piece.

Wasn't that similar to what Zoro said to Mihawk?
