Naruto: I Reincarnated with Magi System

Chapter 16: War and Blessing

Chapter 16: War

The clash of steel, explosions, and battle cries filled the battlefield. The war between Konohagakure and Sunagakure had officially begun.

Sakumo Hatake led the charge, cleaving through enemy forces with precision and unparalleled skill. His focus was on taking down the puppet masters who orchestrated deadly assaults from the shadows. The battlefield was chaotic, with Sunagakure's Second Kazekage commanding the majority of Suna's forces and Chiyo's poisons incapacitated countless shinobi.

Despite their efforts, the battle reached a stalemate. After hours of brutal combat, Sunagakure decided to retreat. Sakumo wisely chose not to pursue, suspecting a trap that could cost them dearly.

The camp was a grim sight. Injured shinobi littered the grounds, many clinging to life by a thread. Blood soaked the earth, and the air was heavy with the stench of iron and despair.

Genin who had stayed behind to assist with logistics were now faced with the grim reality of war. Some stared in shock, others vomited, unable to stomach the sight of severed limbs and lifeless eyes.

Sakumo, burdened by his responsibility, took a deep breath and walked toward Team 4. He stopped in front of Shin and, to the shock of everyone present, bowed deeply.

"Shin," Sakumo began, his voice strained with emotion. "I know this is selfish, but I must ask for your help. These people... they don't deserve to die like this. If there's anything you can do, please—"

Shin interrupted him with a firm nod. "I'll do it."

Shin looked around at the sea of injured shinobi. He clenched his fists, knowing that revealing his powers might invite questions or suspicion, but those concerns were secondary now. Lives were at stake.

Shin stepped into the center of the injured, his mind resolute. Closing his eyes, he began to chant:

"Spirit of the Djinn's Tribe... Be clad in my body. Dwell in my body. Change my body into a great Djinn... Phenex!"

A brilliant pink light enveloped Shin, illuminating the camp. The injured, conscious enough to watch, stared in confusion and awe. Some shinobi instinctively reached for their weapons, fearing an attack, but Sakumo raised his voice over the commotion.

"Calm down!" he shouted. "This is our ally's doing. Watch and see."

When the light subsided, Shin's appearance had changed. His torso was bare except for a white sash, and a winged necklace hung around his neck. Small, feather-like adornments appeared on his hands and feet. He exuded an aura of grace and otherworldly power.

The camp was silent, save for the crackling of pink flames that emanated from Shin.

Shin spread his hands, and a shadow of a massive phoenix emerged behind him, its wings stretching out to cover the camp.

"Kyūkyoku Mahō: Phoenix Blessing!"

The shadow phoenix descended, its warmth enveloping every injured shinobi. Pink flames gently caressed their wounds, sealing gashes, regrowing lost tissue, and purging poisons. One by one, the injured began to stir, their pain replaced by a comforting warmth.

A collective gasp echoed through the camp as the previously crippled shinobi rose to their feet, healed and revitalized.

Awe and Silence

The pink light faded, and the phoenix disappeared. Shin stood at the center of the camp, breathing heavily. Though he wasn't as exhausted as he appeared, he slumped to the ground, feigning weakness to maintain the illusion of limits to his power.

"Shin!" Hikari's voice broke the silence as she rushed to his side. Kakashi followed closely, his stoic demeanor cracking just enough to reveal concern.

Sakumo knelt beside Shin, guilt etched into his face. "I'm sorry, Shin. I shouldn't have asked this of you. Are you alright?"

Shin nodded weakly, managing a small smile. "I'm fine... just a bit drained."

The camp remained silent. Shinobi who had just been on the brink of death stood in disbelief, their gazes fixed on the boy who had performed a miracle.

Sakumo stood and addressed the camp. "What you've just witnessed is a power that defies expectations. Remember this day not as a miracle but as a testament to our will to survive. Let this strength inspire you to fight on."

The shinobi nodded solemnly, their respect for Shin evident in their eyes.

Shin sat quietly, his body still, but his mind raced. I've revealed too much. I need to be cautious moving forward. Still... if it means saving lives, then it's worth it.

For now, the camp was safe, but the war was far from over.
