Naruto: I did not reincarnate, I Transmigrated

Tanna hummed, "Good job today kids. You got higher marks then last month's test."

The kids in Tanna's class beamed at the praise, English was a bit hard especially when the test focused on Grammar instead of literature. It was the third day after the Chunnin exam started and Tanna hoped that Naruto, Sakura and Sasuke were doing alright. Tanna distracted herself as she focused on teaching the kids and explaining the topics that they did not understand. Namura - chan however requested to talk to her after class and she agreed readily, anything to keep her distracted from what she knew. Tanna hoped and prayed the security they placed was enough to protect the teams but Orochimaru was an S - rank for a reason.

Tanna, "Well Namura - chan, what are you wishing to talk about?"

Namura looked around, "Ano! Um.. I have a few questions, Sensei."

Tanna, "Yes, I am listening Namura - chan."

Namura, "Do you like Kakashi - dono?"

Tanna's mind blanked for a second, "Well, he is a very trusted friend of mine. Why do you ask Namura - chan?"

Namura, "Um... It's just Kakashi - dono spends a lot of time with you so I thought maybe you will become the Head Matriarch of the Hatake clan."

Tanna raised her hand, "Stop, stop, you are thinking as a civilian Namura - chan. If your Head was a normal civilian then your reasoning would make sense. However Kakashi is a shinobi and not just any shinobi but the ANBU Captain. The rules are more stricter and different then the ones for civilian Heads."

Namura deflated, "Oh so you will not become my Head Matriarch, Sensei. I would not have minded, I like you a lot Sensei."

Tanna, "There are rules and security clearances I would need to go through and I have no interest in doing anything of that."

Namura drooped like a puppy, "Oh! That's too bad Sensei. I have seen Kakashi - dono with you. He always looks relaxed and happy when you are together."

Tanna, "Well, he is Naruto's big brother so technically speaking we are already family."

Namura looked up eyes wide, "Really?"

Tanna, "Yes, so you do not have to feel awkward about coming to me for help, okay?"

Namura beamed, "Thank you Sensei. I appreciate it."

Tanna smiled back and then Namura left which let her relax for a bit before tackling the papers on her desk. As she was about to finish it she heard a commotion come from the hallway and got up to investigate. She wondered why there was so much noise, most kids should be in their practical classes at the moment. Before she could step outside however she saw a sight from the window that almost gave her a massive heart attack. There was a tall wall of flames outside and looking in the direction Tanna realized it was coming from the direction of the Forest of Death. What in sanity's name was happening in the forest and why was it on fire?

Naruto spoke nervously, "This may not have been our best idea."

Sakura screeched, "You think? We are going to get kicked out of Shinobi corps for destroying a heritage. Granted this forest is a pain in the ass but it is still a cultural heritage site."

Sasuke tried to stay calm but even he was nervous, "I have a plan."

Naruto, "To put out the fire, right?"

Sakura, "Please tell me it is to put out the fire."

Sasuke, "To put out the fire and also to get away with it blame free."

Naruto, "What do you have in mind?"

Sasuke, "The flash bang seals you created Naruto. We can use it to send a message to others."

Sakura, "I am afraid to ask but what message?"

Sasuke looked at their opponent, "We can tell them Orochimaru attacked us."

Orochimaru who was staring at the flames engulfing the forest snapped, "Excuse me brat, this fire was your doing. How dare you!"

Sasuke, "We are only protecting ourselves."

Sakura glared, "He is right. We would not have to pull out our strongest weapons already if you had not interfered, and now everyone knows."

Naruto, "So yes, this is your fault creepy snake man or lady or whatever gender you call yourself."

Orochimaru's eyebrow twitched at the fucking audacity coming from the three children in front of him. They actually dare to frame him, HIM, Orochimaru for their own ridiculous actions. A few months ago Kabuto had informed him about three very independent Genin who would perform mission tasks by themselves. Orochimaru had been slightly interested in the child Uchiha, Jinchuriki and the civilian heiress who was rich. Money was something he could gather easily and the younger Uchiha while interesting was not a genius like the older one and as for the Jinchuriki he could not keep him because of the organization he joined.

He had forgotten about them till another information was sent to him about their team's missions increasing in rank because of some reason or another. His interest increased as he received more information about their missions, perhaps the three kids were not an uninteresting as he had thought previously. The rich civvie kunoichi had a good head on her shoulders and very good chakra control if her healing abilities despite being a low level and genjutsu use were anything to talk about. The Jinchuriki was surprisingly becoming famous for using seals and clones as his go to attack weapons instead of the shuriken and kunai shinobi were known for.

Orochimaru found it the most ironic of all considering it was a seal that turned the boy into a living prison. Then there was the Uchiha brat who was becoming known as a literal pyromaniac with his penchant for putting his opponents on fire. Apparently he was known for buying large amounts of inflammable substances in the village that even Kabuto was nervous to be around that child. Oh, did Orochimaru mention they were under the tutlege of Hatake Kakashi known for reading porn in public and encouraging their destructive tendencies while smiling proudly? The snake Sannin cursed his luck for running into these three, he was actually aiming to capture one of the twins Uchihas.

Anko, "Team seven, what is the meaning of this?"

Sakura pointed, "Orochimaru attacked us."

Naruto pointed as well, "He is an S - ranked nin."

Sasuke nodded, "Anko - Sensei, we were just defending ourselves."

Anko finally noticed him, "Orochimaru, I should have known."

Orochimaru was feeling very insulted, "You fool of a student. I did not put this forest on fire."

Sasuke crossed his arms, "You attacked we retaliated."

Sakura raised her nose up, "Ergo it was your fault."

Naruto nodded making the soot in his hair fly around, "Yeah, we thought you were a pedophile especially with how you were eyeing Sasuke and Sakura up."

Orochimaru thundered as he released his killing intent, "I am not interested in children, you little brats."

Sasuke hissed, "Dang and here I thought Kakashi - Sensei's killing intent when we dropped his book into mud was terrifying."

Naruto grumbled, "S - rank nin."

Sakura was shaking but stood up, "I I guess th this is th the point. We sh should n not underestimate h him."

Anko growled, "KAI! Kids get going. I already put up alert to call Shinobi who can use water jutsus."

Kakashi appeared then, "Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, are you alright?"

Naruto, "Sensei, man! Am I glad to see you?"

Sasuke, "We are ok, Sensei. Just got tossed around a bit."

Sakura nodded, "The fire was retaliation against the Snake guy for attacking us."

Gai, "Yosh! Such youthful students. Get out of here we will deal with this."

Naruto, "Come on guys. We still have a test to finish. Interrupting snake man, woman or not."

Sasuke, "Yeah, let's go."

Sakura, "Be careful Sensei. I know you are strong but that person is S - rank."

Kakashi gave an eye smile, "I will be fine my darling students. Just get to the towers safely."

Gai watched the three go, "Why do they call Orochimaru a man and woman. They know who he is, right?"

Kakashi, "Out of respect. Orochimaru nay be an enemy but he is still powerful and known for changing bodies."

Orochimaru twitched, "Your darling students have very interesting methods of showing respect young Kakashi."

Kakashi, "Of course, they were taught by the best ladies in Konoha to be polite."

Orochimaru tsked and summoned Manda with multiple clones of earth and water ordering them to attack. Kakashi, Anko and Gai fought back using their own summons, techniques and Taijutsu and tried to corner Orochimaru who slithered away. Anko was very furious Orochimaru escaped but Kakashi calmed her down pointing out it was strange for the snake Sannin to be here of all places. Anko paused then realized he was targeting one of the kids or maybe even multiple of them and gritted her teeth feeling frustration. Gai assured her they would do their best to keep the kids safe and do their best to capture Orochimaru. Anko only sighed as she held the mark on her nape that Orochimaru had left her before running from Konoha.

Tanna, "What is happening here?"

Hayato, "Ah, Tanna Sensei, well, I am not sure but rumour has it that Orochimaru is here."

Tanna was flummoxed, "Orochimaru put the forest on fire? Okay, I know he has a grudge against the Sandaime for some reason or another, that is like an open secret. But what did the forest do to him?"

Shisui, "Sensei, grudges can be strange things for shinobi. Even though an item is not directly related to it if it is under the enemy well this happens."

Tanna sighed, "What a peculiar man! Are the kids alright?"

Itachi, "They are fine Tanna - chan. The Genins got away from the place before the flames got worse."

Tanna sniffed, "Wait that smell it smells like gasoline. Sasuke, Naruto and Sakura were the ones attacked then. Sasuke would not do this unless his team was in danger."

Touka nudged the Uchiha heir, "See I told you."

Itachi sighed as he looked at the Aburame shinobi, "Perhaps but it was still his items that caused this."

Tanna, "Well, either way since it was gasoline that caused this fire. Does anyone know any jutsus that can create a large amount of mud?"

Shisui, "Um.. I believe the Akimichi clan know of it."

Hiruzen arrived at that point, "Goodness our forest."

Danzo eyed the flames, "This year's Chunnin exams are very intense. I cannot believe Orochimaru actually returned."

Hayato, "Well that is what happened Lord Hokage, elder Danzo. We are getting ready to use a combination of Doton and Mizu jutsu to create mud and put out the flames."

Hiruzen sniffed, "Is that gasoline?"

Danzo stared incredulously, "Are you sure?"

Tanna, "Akimichi - dono, you are here with Yamanaka - dono and Nara - dono."

Inoichi, "I told you to call me Inoichi, Tanna - chan."

Shikaku ruffled her hair, "And call me Shikaku, squirt."

Chouza, "What are you doing here Tanna - chan?"

Tanna escaped from the hair ruffle, "To be honest I am worried about my kids. It is not like them to show their strongest weapon so early on."

Danzo, "Strongest weapon?"

Tanna, "Yes, they have been experimenting with the fire jutsu and learned different ways to make it very destructive. I say they have succeeded in making it their best elemental attack."

Hiruzen, "Ah! Did you give them the idea?"

Tanna snorted amused, "I wish I did. But nope this is all team seven and I will not deny I am very impressed."

Hiruzen felt a headache coming in, "I see, I suppose I have to make contingencies for accidents during their missions."

Tanna, "That will probably be the best plan Hokage - sama. Is there any news on this Orochimaru person?"

Unknown to them they were now being observed by said Sannin who was observing them with irritation. He was annoyed those brats framed him though this just made him interested as this meant those three were good at manipulating the people around them. It may not be an impressive skill but it certainly was a useful one if caught in a sticky situation. The girl Tanna was strange though, he had seen her medical records and she was basically what someone would call dead meat. She had no chakra coils in her body and yet she was teaching the young shinobi in the Academy. Perhaps he should pay her a visit and find out what her deal is, there must be a reason his Sensei keeps her around.

Naruto, "There it is. Took us hours to find it."

Sakura, "The tower. I need a shower, I hope there is a shower in there."

Sasuke, "Wait, let me check if it is safe or not first."

Naruto, "I will send a clone."

Sakura watched the clone enter safely, "I guess other teams have not reached yet."

Sasuke, "Let's go in. And I suppose since it's still early there are no shinobi around making traps yet."

Naruto, "Three o'clock in the morning."

Sakura, "Hey look at that a riddle."

Sasuke, "I think we need to use the scrolls."

Naruto, "I think so too."

Sakura, "Take them out and place them together. We will see what happens."

The placed the scrolls together and pressed their chakra into the scrolls and there was smoke coming out, "Well done team seven."

Naruto, "Iruka Sensei."

Sakura, "You are here."

Sasuke, "Does this mean we pass this round?"

Iruka smiled, "Yes, congratulations on clearing the forest round. Aside from you the team from Sand village are the only ones who have reached so far."

Naruto, "Those guys."

Iruka gave a smile, "Do not underestimate anyone. I do not think I have to explain why?"

Sasuke, "We know Sensei, we saw him kill back in the forest."

Sakura, "He had no remorse doing it too."

Naruto, "Of course not every Shinobi was that bad. Karin - san was very nice and sweet to meet. A little nervous to be around people but she was okay."

Sasuke muttered, "The same thing cannot be said about her teammates. They are such absolute cowards."

Sakura nodded, "Yeah, they left her to deal with the poison hornets by herself. Ugh! It pissed me off a lot. I hope she makes it to the tower and gives them the middle finger."

Naruto nodded, "Yeah, they were so rude too calling us weak. But look at the results we defeated the hornets while they ran away."

Iruka pat their heads, "Why don't you all go to the room assigned for your team. There are two showers in every room. You can wash up and rest. It is still very early in the morning."

Naruto, "Okay Sensei, will Kakashi - Sensei be here? What about nee - chan?"

Iruka, "Your Sensei is on a mission right now and your nee - chan is making sure the village does not fall into turmoil."

Sasuke, "Let me guess nii - chan is also busy too."

Sakura, "It is because Orochimaru came to the village, isn't it?"

Iruka nodded, "Afraid so. But do not worry about him and focus on the Chunnin exams."

Sakura wanted to say more but decided to ask later especially when she felt her scalp itch and it was getting irritating to stand covered in black soot. The three of them headed to their room and while Naruto and Sakura took showers Sasuke went to the toilet instead. Naruto was done showering by the time he returned and heading to the toilet next while Sasuke showered in his place getting rid of dirt. When Sasuke was done and dressed in fresh clothes, he was very grateful for the seals Naruto insisted they used, Sakura had finished as well and was sleeping already. Naruto returned after a while and they decided to sleep before making any new plans for the upcom challenge.

Tanna, "The fire is finally out."

Shikaku, "Yes, it just took the whole night and morning."

Inoichi, "The kids got the good stuff especially since the fire lasted this long though I am surprised more areas were not destroyed."

Hiruzen held up a paper, "It's the seals. They used it to make the fire concentrate on one place. Clever little ones."

Tanna, "Ah! They were working on seals that could be used in storing an element. I did not realize it was for fire."

Kakashi appeared, "Hokage - sama, I am reluctant to report Orochimaru got away."

Hiruzen, "I am not surprised, he knows this place inside out after all."

Danzo, "I can send my Root shinobi after him if you let me Hiruzen. They were trained to track down rogue nin."

Hiruzen, "They would be killed Danzo, you know that Orochimaru had become stronger and smarter."

Tanna, "I will let you discuss shinobi stuff. I am just happy my kids are safe."

Hiruzen, "Why don't you take a break for the next few days Tanna - chan? The second part will be over soon."

Tanna, "I can't the kids at the Academy have their economics tests tomorrow. The scores get counted with the final ones."

Danzo, "You are very dedicated to the Academy young Tanna."

Tanna, "Correction Danzo - san, I am dedicated to the kids. Say have you decided on the amount you wish to donate to the Academy?"

Danzo twitched, "Yes, I have and you need not worry it will be a good amount."

Tanna clapped delighted and thanked him for his generosity while Hiruzen watched the exchange amused by his disgruntled teammates expression. It was not a hidden secret that Tanna pestered any nosy elder to donate to the Academy, Danzo was just one of those elders. The others were the elders from the Uchiha clan, Hyuuga clan, and a couple of civilian clans who wanted special treatment for their kids. It was very hilarious in the old Hokage's opinion and he pretty much enjoyed the passive aggressive petty attitude Tanna - chan had. He felt like he was living vicariously through the young lass who did not take nonsense from anyone old or young.

Naruto woke up feeling like he rested a little, at least, "Good morning."

Sakura yawned, "I think you mean to say afternoon, Naruto - kun."

Sasuke, "I don't care let me sleep a bit more."

Naruto, "Come on Sasuke we need to eat first. I think I saw a kitchen earlier. We can see if they have rice and make a pork bowl with tomatoes."

Sasuke's stomach grumbled, "Fine, but I am sleeping after eating."

Sakura, "Sounds good I still feel tired."

Naruto walked out the door, "I will cook the pork since I am the only one awake."

Sasuke followed him, "You Uzumakis are very lucky to have more stamina naturally."

Sakura grumbled from behind, "Yeah, let's go eat then sleep some more. I think we still have pork meat left over from the hunt two days ago."

Naruto took out the scrolls as they reached the canteen area, "Yup, even after giving some over to Karin - chan, there is still a lot left over. Maybe I can make crispy fried bacon like nee - chan does."

Sasuke was looking through the cabinets for cooking utensils and food, "Found a bowl with a cooking pot."

Sakura who was going through the cabinets below, "Got the rice, I will wash and place it on the cooker."

Naruto took out the meat, "Great, I will cut up the meat and then we can start cooking."

The smell of their cooking attracted the attention of the shinobi who were guarding the area so Sakura took out more rice to cook for them. It did not hurt to build a rapport with the older shinobi and delicious food was always a good offering. Naruto seeing this took out more meat from the scrolls and they worked together and soon enough food was ready. Sakura took one of the two pots that had the pork dish and placed it next to the second rice cooker telling the shinobi to eat. Over time both the second pot of pork dish and rice was empty while the three of them slowly enjoyed their late lunch.

Naruto, "Nee - chan is probably very worried about us."

Sasuke, "I would not blame her for worrying."

Sakura, "No one expected Orochimaru to attack us in the forest."

Naruto noticed one of the Suna Genin at the door, "Hi, Temari - san right? Would you like some?"

Temari hesitated, "You cook?"

Naruto, "Nee - chan and I are orphans so yeah, we know how to cook."

Temari, "Ah! I see."

Sakura handed her a large bowl with a few smaller ones, "Here some rice and side dishes."

Naruto, "And this one has the pork dish I made. Feel free to eat it or throw it. I am stuffed."

Sasuke, "Let's clean up and head to our room. We have to wait one more day before this round is officially over."
