Naruto: From Konoha to One Piece

Chapter 127: Chapter 127: Futile Attempt

"It's time to go, Hizashi!" Shin said as he walked out of the Hyuga clan's estate, with Hiashi respectfully seeing him off.

Shin thought the family dynamics were rather unusual. In the beginning, Hinata's father, Hiashi, and his brother, Hizashi, were close, though they both outwardly acted indifferent due to the strict family rules imposed upon them.

However, after Hinata and Neji were born, tension grew between the two. Hizashi even harbored thoughts of harming Hinata due to resentment against the clan rules, and Hiashi, bound by those same rules, placed the Caged Bird Seal on his brother without hesitation.

In the original story, Hizashi ultimately sacrificed himself to protect Hiashi and to demonstrate that his choice was voluntary, not solely driven by his status in the branch family. Afterward, Hiashi transferred some of his brotherly affection toward Neji, showing a unique tolerance for him, even when Neji severely injured Hinata during the Chunin exams.

It was clear that the brothers' relationship had swung to extremes over time. But now, with the Caged Bird Seal lifted, the two seemed to reconcile, showing mutual care and respect once again.

"Understood, Shin-sama," Hizashi said with a respectful bow before they parted ways.

As Shin exited the Hyuga estate, he sensed someone watching him from afar. 'Is that a telescopic jutsu?' he wondered.

The Telescope Jutsu (Crystal Ball Jutsu) was indeed convenient. It allowed users to monitor individuals across vast distances as long as they were familiar with the person's chakra signature and the individual was inside the village's barrier. In Konoha, only a handful could achieve such precision; among them was the Third Hokage, who once monitored the entire village.

Shin, who had acquired a chakra crystal ball in his travels, appreciated the skill's potential but didn't plan to interfere. Relations between him and Konoha were lukewarm at best, but things settled somewhat after he resolved their conflict with the Hidden Cloud Village. They might not openly oppose him, yet some lingering mistrust remained.

Suddenly, Shin sensed a few life signatures in the distance. 'This dark chakra… Uchiha?' he mused, somewhat amused. 'Are they here to cause trouble?'

If anyone in Konoha harbored resentment toward him, it would be members of the Uchiha. However, ever since he displayed Susanoo, the Uchiha seemed to have mistaken him for a member of their clan. This misconception had caused some strange shifts in how they regarded him.

As the figures approached, Shin recognized one of them—a young ninja he remembered from a previous encounter in Konoha. 'That's Uchiha Shisui,' he thought, recalling the shinobi's swiftness and skill.

'If I remember right, Shisui's Mangekyo ability, Kotoamatsukami, should be awakened by now… Could he be trying to use it on me?'

Before Shin could finish his thought, Shisui activated his Mangekyo Sharingan, the tomoe spinning until a complex pattern emerged.

'Here it comes…' Shin smirked, bracing himself.

Summoning every ounce of his chakra, Shisui used Kotoamatsukami, aiming to manipulate Shin's will. Blood began trickling from Shisui's eyes as he poured his entire chakra into the technique. But the mental energy waves from the genjutsu shattered as soon as they collided with Shin's impenetrable mind.

"Ugh!" Shisui gasped, blood spurting from his eyes as his attempt backfired. He stared, stunned, as Shin's own eyes changed to reveal his Rinnegan, a level of dojutsu far surpassing the Sharingan's capabilities.

Shin raised an eyebrow, amused. "Kotoamatsukami, is it? Does Konoha really want to challenge me further?"

A few other Uchiha ninjas, who had been watching from behind Shisui, sprang into action, intent on protecting him. One lifted Shisui, now unconscious, and attempted to flee.

Shin, however, was quicker. With swift strikes, he incapacitated the Uchiha who had attempted to shield Shisui. His movements were so efficient that those who tried to block him were thrown aside, coughing up blood.

The last ninja barely had time to draw a kunai before Shin appeared before him. He slashed his kunai, desperate, only for it to scrape harmlessly against Shin's chest. With a simple motion, Shin knocked him out cold, his final strike calculated and precise.
