Chapter 20: Immortality? In Front of Amaterasu, It's Just a Joke!

Uchiha Yi had been watching the fight between Hidan and Kakuzu the entire time.

Honestly, besides his Jutsu: Curse Technique – Death Controlling Possessed Blood and his immortality, Hidan didn't have much else worth noting.

His impulsive nature made him act without thinking, and his Taijutsu was basic at best.

A person like him, once his abilities were known, could easily be defeated even by a much weaker opponent.

In the original story, Shikamaru Nara used this knowledge to outwit and defeat Hidan despite being at a disadvantage.

But if Hidan's abilities were used strategically, his potential impact could be as terrifying as the Nine-Tails.

For example, White Zetsu could secretly collect blood from various ninja villages and provide it to Hidan, who could perform his curses from the shadows.

This way, Hidan's abilities would remain hidden, and he could eliminate enemies effortlessly.

As long as enough blood was collected, Hidan alone could potentially wipe out the Five Great Shinobi Villages, making the capture of the Tailed Beasts much easier.

Unfortunately, no one seemed to think of this, and Hidan was instead used as a frontline tank.

Such a waste!

Of course, Uchiha Yi wasn't going to bring this up and open Pandora's box.

After all, he couldn't guarantee he would never be injured or that his blood wouldn't be collected.

Kakuzu and Konan had no objections and stepped back.

In an organization like Akatsuki, filled with rogue shinobi, gathering intel wasn't just about enemies but also about allies.

This group of outcasts was united by shared interests, not bonds of loyalty or friendship.

They were curious to learn more about Uchiha Yi, a new recruit personally approved by Pain, so they naturally had no reason to refuse his offer to fight.

Seeing the others watching while Uchiha Yi, the smallest of the group, faced him, Hidan felt insulted.

He gripped his scythe with one hand and slashed down as he got close.

His speed wasn't remarkable, and thanks to Uchiha Yi's Three-Tomoe Sharingan, Hidan's movements appeared slow, almost turtle-like.

A quick sidestep allowed Uchiha Yi to dodge effortlessly.

He could also have chosen to stay still, using the intangibility granted by his Devil Fruit ability to avoid Hidan's physical attacks altogether.

But that would serve little purpose.

Uchiha Yi's goal here was to display his strength and practice his Taijutsu.

After missing his first strike, Hidan continued his assault.

Originally hoping to gather some useful intel on the new recruit, Kakuzu found himself bored instead.

Their fight looked more like two rookies awkwardly sparring, putting Kakuzu to sleep.

Konan remained silent, realizing this wasn't going as planned.

Uchiha Yi, caught up in his mock fight with Hidan, was unaware of his teammates' disappointment.

He found that without the Sharingan, his Taijutsu was significantly weaker than Hidan's, and he couldn't react quickly enough to avoid Hidan's attacks.

With one Tomoe, he could see Hidan's moves clearly and respond, but defeating him would be difficult.

But with two and three Tomoe, Hidan's attacks seemed to move in slow motion, making it nearly impossible for him to land a hit.

Caught off guard, Hidan, who had grown accustomed to Uchiha Yi dodging, couldn't react in time and was pushed back by the flames, though he wasn't seriously injured.

With a gesture, a black flame ignited in Uchiha Yi's palm as he looked at Hidan.

"This fire is called the Flames of Amaterasu!"

"It will never extinguish until it has consumed its target completely!"

"With your so-called immortality, let's see if you can withstand it!"

Hearing this, Hidan, Konan, and Kakuzu each showed signs of wariness.

Whether Uchiha Yi was telling the truth or not, it was better to be cautious, as life was precious.

If they were hit by it, what would they do?

Information on Amaterasu was scarce. Even though they'd seen it once in the base, it hadn't been enough time to understand it.

"Enough talk! Come at me if you dare!"

However, Hidan wasn't the type to back down.

"Then die!"

Hidan charged again, ignoring Uchiha Yi's warning.

With a glance, he locked onto Hidan.

The black flames appeared suddenly, igniting on Hidan as if from nowhere.

Watching Hidan suffer from a distance, Kakuzu swallowed, feeling uneasy.

"Let's wait and see."

Although Konan remained calm on the surface, her heart was shaken.

This newcomer was much stronger than she had expected.

The Uchiha… truly were a powerful clan.
