Naruto: Fatherhood Made me Invincible

Chapter 84: Ch 84

Kagami was not only immune to most illusions, but could also reflect them back upon their caster. If someone tried to use a genjutsu on him, they would surely suffer a great loss. Fortunately for Itachi, he had been wise enough not to try. Kagami then placed another seal on Itachi, completely cutting off his chakra. With his mastery of Sukuna's barrier techniques, combined with the Uzumaki clan's sealing jutsu, creating a more powerful, hybrid seal was a simple matter.

Feeling the seal take hold, Itachi smiled bitterly. He hadn't expected Kagami to be so cautious. Not only had he taken his Sharingan, but he had also sealed his chakra. Now, he truly had no way to resist. As his chakra was cut off, the pain from his empty eye sockets intensified, and blood continued to flow freely. Cold sweat beaded on his pale face. But Kagami didn't bother to care. A little pain was nothing compared to being burned to a crisp by Amaterasu.

Kagami created a clone and ordered it to take Konan and Itachi back to Konoha. He and the rest of the Konoha ninja continued on towards the Hidden Rain Village.

In the Hidden Rain Village, dark clouds gathered, weaving a thick curtain that swallowed the last rays of sunlight. Thunder rumbled deep within the clouds, like the roar of an ancient dragon, shaking the very earth. Lightning flashed, bathing the village in an ominous, blue-purple light. The air was thick with a damp, uneasy tension.

After several hours, Kagami and his forces arrived.

"Kagami-sama, something seems wrong here," Hiashi Hyuga said, his brow furrowed. He had a bad feeling, as if some great danger awaited them. But even with his Byakugan, he could detect no ambush.

"Yes," Kagami smiled. "There is indeed an ambush ahead." His own senses had detected a massive number of explosive tags and clay mines buried within a few hundred meters of their position. If they were to be detonated, he would be fine, but the Konoha ninja with him would be annihilated. He hadn't expected the Sage of Six Paths, the so-called ancestor of all shinobi, to resort to such a tactic. It completely shattered his perception of the legendary figure.

"What! But I don't see anything!" Hiashi said, his Byakugan scanning the area again, but still finding nothing.

Kagami said nothing, simply taking two steps forward. He clasped his hands together, and chakra surged from his palms like boiling magma. He then slammed his hands on the ground. "Earth Style: Earth Flow Wall!"

With a deep, powerful shout, an indescribable force erupted from the ground. The seemingly calm earth in front of them was suddenly lifted by an invisible hand. A thousand meters of soil and rock surged upwards like a massive wave, covering half the sky. With a deafening roar, an indestructible, ochre-colored barrier rose from the ground, tightly encircling the empty area ahead.

"Kagami-sama didn't even need to form hand seals to perform such a large-scale Earth Style jutsu. His strength is truly terrifying!" the Konoha ninja whispered amongst themselves, their shock palpable.

But it wasn't over. Just as they were marveling at Kagami's power, a dazzling light erupted from within the barrier, followed by a series of deafening explosions, as if a giant beast sleeping underground had been awakened and was now roaring in anger. Flames shot into the sky, smoke and dust billowed, and the entire space seemed to be torn in two by the sheer force of the blast.

Hiashi and the other ninja stumbled back, their eyes wide with shock. Kagami stood still, his gaze fixed on the chaotic scene within the earth wall. "They actually buried so many explosive tags ahead of time," he thought. "It seems they're afraid of me." To use any means necessary to deal with him could only mean that the Sage was afraid of his power and wanted to weaken his forces at any cost.

The Konoha ninja stood amongst the ruins, surrounded by billowing smoke and flying debris. The air was thick with the pungent smell of gunpowder, making it difficult to breathe. Their faces, pale and terrified in the flickering firelight, were beaded with cold sweat. The aftershocks of the explosion still echoed around them, each vibration making their hearts clench. Even the most seasoned veterans, who had faced countless crises on the battlefield, couldn't help but stare in shock and fear. The familiar landscape was now unrecognizable. They knew that if not for Kagami, they would have all been killed in the blast.

"Gulp—" Might Guy swallowed hard, his voice filled with anger. "They actually buried so many explosive tags to ambush us. This Sage of Six Paths is not very yoithful!" He had once held a certain awe for the legendary figure, but now, his awe had transformed into utter contempt.

The surrounding ninja nodded in agreement. They all felt that laying mines before a battle was a cowardly, despicable tactic.
