Chapter 76: Ch 76
As the last vestiges of the Ten-Tails' power flowed into his body, Uchiha Madara began to transform. His long hair, once black as night, turned pure white, like a winter wasteland covered in the first snow, radiating an inviolable majesty. Above his forehead, the horns unique to the Otsutsuki clan slowly emerged, gleaming with a faint luster, a symbol of his awakened bloodline. The red armor he wore seemed to erode with time, fading, then crumbling into pieces that scattered in the wind. In its place, a spotless white haori appeared, swaying gently, as if the very wind of heaven and earth revolved around him in deference. His arms and legs gradually lost their original skin tone, turning a deep, abyssal black, like the darkest ink in the night sky. At the same time, nine dazzling Truth-Seeking Orbs materialized behind him, each containing enough power to destroy mountains and rivers, yet revolving in perfect harmony, forming a luminous halo that made Madara appear truly divine.
"Is this the power of the Sage of Six Paths? Awesome! Hahahahahahahaha..." Madara roared with laughter, the sheer exhilaration of the surging power coursing through his veins. He felt as if he had surpassed all human limits. He couldn't wait to fight Kagami again! He would save the Infinite Tsukuyomi for later; he was now invincible, and time was on his side. But first, he would kill the Sage of Six Paths to even the core with him.
"Madara, this form of yours... it's so powerful!" Hashirama Senju looked at the drastically transformed Madara, his eyes serious. In his perception, Madara now exuded an overwhelming aura of danger, a terrifying power that sent shivers down his spine. He realized that the Madara who now stood before him, the Jinchuriki of the Ten-Tails, was far beyond anything he could hope to contend with. Even if he unleashed his full power, he might not pose a threat.
Madara couldn't help but raise his chin, straightening his back, a proud, almost childish grin on his face. He tried to appear calm, but the sheer joy of his friend's praise made it impossible. It was the recognition from Hashirama, the only man he truly respected, that mattered.
Just as Madara swelled with pride, the Sage of Six Paths slowly stepped out of the shadows. His eyes, as deep as the night sky, fixed on Madara, a false, knowing smile on his lips. "Madara, your power has grown to my former level. Your power has surpassed Uchiha Kagami. Go and defeat him, and save the ninja world."
These words grated on Madara like a sharp blade. He suddenly snapped his head up, and the Rinnegan in his eyes blazed with a heart-pounding pressure. His aura surged like a storm, tearing the surrounding air. "Kagami. I will defeat him when I want to!" A cold, murderous glint appeared in his eyes. "But first, I must kill you!" He had long grown tired of the Sage's hypocritical demeanor. He was now a god. How dare this phantom of a Sage try to order him around? How dare he command me.
Before the Sage could react, Madara's figure blurred, transforming into an impossibly sharp afterimage as he lunged forward. At the same time, he unleashed a Truth-Seeking Orb, sending it hurtling towards the Sage with devastating force. The Sage's expression flickered, but he showed no panic. He calmly raised his hand, and a gentle, yet unfathomable force surged from his palm, easily deflecting Madara's attack. In a flash, Madara was before him, and the Truth-Seeking Orb in his hand condensed into a Six Paths Staff. "Haa—!!!" With a deafening roar, Madara swung the staff, striking at the Sage with the force of thunder.
The Sage frowned slightly but did not retreat. Instead, he calmly raised his own hand, and a black Truth-Seeking Staff materialized in his palm. It looked ordinary, but it contained an unimaginable power. With a light swing, the black staff collided with Madara's. The space fractured, light exploded, and the world seemed to change color amidst the deafening roar.
When the light dissipated, Madara stood firm. The Sage, however, was pushed back several steps, a hint of displeasure flashing in his eyes. "Madara, stop this! I am not your enemy. Uchiha Kagami is the one who must be dealt with!"
After becoming the Ten-Tails' jinchuriki, Madara's power had reached the late Six Paths level. And because of the Rinnegan's influence, the Sage could no longer control him through chakra. He knew he could defeat Madara, but there was no need. He had to conserve his strength for Kagami. He decided not to immediately use Izuna's soul to threaten Madara, preferring to persuade him first. After all, he had maintained his good guy facade for a thousand years.
Hashirama, seeing the confrontation, quickly intervened. "Madara, the Sage of Six Paths is our ancestor! He is trying to save the world. Why would you attack him?" He still felt that their true enemy was Kagami.
But Obito watched, delighted. He wished they would fight to the death, preferably injuring each other so he could take back the Rinnegan and the Ten-Tails.
But at the Sage's words, Madara's eyes grew colder. He snorted, the sound like ice cracking stone, piercing the air with an unquestionable arrogance. "Weaklings have no right to order me around!" He then rose into the air, surrounded by a swirling storm of chakra, the air trembling with his anger and newfound power.
