"What’s going on?! Why did they suddenly jump out like that?!" one of the group exclaimed in shock as he stared at the few rogue ninjas who had appeared ahead, their faces filled with panic.
Earlier, they had only heard a few cries of agony coming from the forest. Moments later, these individuals had leapt out into the open. "If I’m not mistaken, it must have been Miao. That guy probably charged into the jungle to flush them out—what an incredible individual!" another chuunin remarked grimly.
"Damn it!!!" The leader stumbled backward, his face pale with fear. They had started with eleven members, but within the span of a few breaths, only six remained. The other five had all fallen victim to Miao's hands.
A dark figure leapt out from the bushes, performing several elegant flips in midair before landing steadily on the ground—it was Miao. "B-boss! It’s this guy! All our brothers were killed by him!!!" one of the rogue ninjas shouted, pointing a trembling finger at Miao while addressing their leader with a mix of fear and rage.
"Yo, young man! I didn’t expect you to be so strong—looks like I underestimated you earlier!" Ake grinned, giving Miao a thumbs-up as his teeth gleamed brightly.
Miao ignored Ake, his gaze coolly sweeping over the remaining bandit-ninjas. He raised his kunai slightly, preparing to attack, but just then, a loud laugh interrupted his movement.
"Haha! I can’t let you steal all the glory! Leave the rest to me—the Blue Beast of Konoha!!!" Ake’s shiny bowl-cut hair seemed to glow as he roared, his figure vanishing from sight in an instant.
"So fast! No wonder he’s a pure taijutsu specialist. His raw speed rivals even the Body Flicker Technique. This Might Guy is truly impressive," Miao thought to himself, slightly taken aback by Ake’s movements.
"Dynamic Prelude!!!" Ake let out a strange cry, appearing beside the rogue leader in the blink of an eye. With a straight kick powered by his muscular leg, he sent the leader flying through the air, crashing into a nearby tree trunk and collapsing unconscious.
At the same time, Miao sprang into action. His right hand shot out like lightning from beneath his kimono sleeve, four shuriken gripped between his fingers. With a swift flick of his wrist, the shuriken flew toward the remaining rogue ninjas.
"What?! Dodge /N_o_v_e_l_i_g_h_t/ it!!!" One of the rogue ninjas, snapping out of his shock after seeing their leader defeated so swiftly, shouted urgently.
However, Miao’s shuriken technique was far from ordinary. Not only were the shuriken incredibly fast, but their trajectories were also deceptively sharp and unpredictable. Despite the rogues beginning to move, the shuriken abruptly curved mid-flight, striking their targets with deadly precision—each piercing a vital point on their throats.
"Pfft! Pfft! Pfft! Pfft!!!" The sound of shuriken embedding themselves into flesh echoed through the area. The rogue ninjas froze in place, their eyes wide with disbelief. Their bodies twitched briefly before collapsing lifelessly to the ground.
"What incredible shurikenjutsu!" one of the chuunin exclaimed, utterly astonished. Such mastery over shuriken techniques was rare—even in Konoha, only a handful could achieve this level of skill.
"Hmm?" Unlike the other Leaf shinobi, Ake and Kurenai exchanged surprised glances upon witnessing Miao’s shuriken technique. Their brows furrowed slightly as if something about it felt oddly familiar.
"This shurikenjutsu… I feel like I’ve seen it somewhere before!" Ake muttered, scratching his chin thoughtfully. Though stunned by Miao’s skill, the technique stirred a vague sense of déjà vu within him. However, given his rather simplistic mindset, recalling specifics would likely take some time.
Kurenai shared a similar reaction. While she too found the technique strangely familiar, unlike Ake, she was certain she had encountered it before. This particular style of shurikenjutsu stood out due to its uniqueness compared to others, leaving a lasting impression on her.
In her hazy memories, someone had once demonstrated this very technique in front of her eyes. However, since it dated back many years, she struggled to recall the details.
"Indeed, this shurikenjutsu does seem familiar, though I can’t quite place it. It must be something from my childhood. Regardless, this person named Mu is clearly no ordinary individual," Kurenai said gravely.
"I understand!" Ake nodded solemnly, his expression now devoid of its usual playfulness as he regarded Mu with newfound seriousness.
"Pfft!" Slowly, Miao withdrew his kunai, letting droplets of blood slide off its cold, sharp edge onto the ground below.
By now, Miao had finished off the rogue leader who had been knocked unconscious by Ake’s earlier kick. With that, the entire gang of rogue ninjas had been eradicated.
