Naruto: Dual System Power At The Beginning

Chapter 29: Chapter 29:- Are You Willing To Teach Me

Kurenai carefully pondered her mother's words, feeling that perhaps her mother was overly concerned. "Mother, our Third Hokage is a reasonable and kind person with a great reputation. There's no reason for him to get angry over something like this. Besides, even if he were upset, could he really force me to be with Asuma?"

Kurenai's mother patiently replied, "Someone who can become Hokage isn't as kind and gentle as they appear on the surface."

"He won't force you, as the Third Hokage does care about appearances. But while he won't act openly, he may employ underhanded methods in secret. Have you heard of Danzo? He's the one who handles all kinds of shady matters for the Third Hokage. Ninjas are often executed in secret."

Kurenai looked surprised and asked in return, "Something so minor wouldn't lead to my execution, would it? Besides, I haven't betrayed the village."

Kurenai's mother continued explaining patiently, "Even though you haven't betrayed the village, upsetting them is already the greatest crime you can commit."

"They might not act overtly against you, but they can still sabotage you in secret. This world is very complicated. You need to learn how to deal with people and avoid offending others, especially since our Yuhi clan is no longer a powerful one."

Hearing this, Kurenai understood. "Mother. I understand what you're saying now. But weren't the ninjas dealt with by Lord Danzo spies or traitors to the village? These people betrayed the village by selling information. Isn't that deserving of death?"

Seeing that Kurenai was willing to listen to her advice, her mother was pleased. Since Kurenai raised another question, she explained further, "Kurenai, you haven't witnessed the darker side of the village."

"Some of the people Danzo dealt with were indeed spies and traitors. But who can guarantee that all of them were spies or traitors?"

At this point, Kurenai covered her mouth in shock. Her mother's words left her deeply shaken. She hadn't expected the village to have such a dark side.

Kurenai's mother told her all this to ensure she would be more cautious in Konoha. "The one person in Konoha you must never provoke is Lord Danzo. There have even been rumors that Danzo used members of the Senju clan for human experiments."

"Afterward, Lady Tsunade disbanded the clan, instructing them to live under hidden identities, possibly to avoid Danzo's harm."

Kurenai was stunned upon hearing this. The Senju clan, one of the founding families of the village along with the Uchiha clan—Konoha's original most powerful clan, even surpassing the Uchiha—had fallen for such a reason?

Unable to contain her surprise, she confirmed, "Was it really Danzo? Does he have that much power?"

Kurenai's mother replied, "These are only rumors, but where there's smoke, there's fire. Such rumors wouldn't circulate without reason."

In her heart, Kurenai had already begun to fear the so-called dark side of Konoha and Lord Danzo.

"Mother. Ipromise I'll handle my relationship with Asuma properly." Even though she hadn't wanted to deal with Asuma before, for the sake of herself, her mother, and Ryosuke, she had to calm him down. After all, Asuma was indeed someone who easily became agitated.

Seeing that Kurenai was willing to listen to her advice, her mother smiled. "As long as you understand. I'm going back to my room to sleep. You should go to bed early, too."

Kurenai then went to her room to sleep.

After all, Asuma didn't yet know about her relationship with Ryosuke. He was still serving as a guardian ninja at the Daimyo's court in the Land of Fire.

She still had time to think things through, so there was no rush tonight to figure out how to appease him.

The next day, Ryosuke woke up early, completing a set of One Punch Man-style training. He gained some improvements in his physical stats.

Although the gains weren't much, it was still progress. By afternoon, Ryosuke decided to look for Guy. He wanted to check if Guy's injuries had healed. After all, Guy didn't possess the same enhanced physique as him.

Most importantly, he intended to learn the Eight Gates technique. This time, it wouldn't be the usual sparring match.

Might Guy was either running laps around Konoha or training in his familiar forest clearing.

Ryosuke quickly found Guy, who was practicing his taijutsu techniques alone.

Curiously, Lee wasn't training alongside him this time.

Guy stopped his movements because he sensed someone approaching. Turning around, he saw Uchiha Ryosuke. Observing that Ryosuke's bruises had completely disappeared, he noted that Ryosuke's demeanor no longer resembled someone recovering from injuries.

From past experience, Guy knew this wasn't just surface-level recovery—Ryosuke's injuries were genuinely healed.

Guy himself, despite having a strong physique, had only partially recovered from his injuries. The bruises on his face had faded significantly but were still faintly visible upon closer inspection.

His faster recovery was largely thanks to Ryosuke selling him Uchiha clan medicine at a discounted price.

If Kakashi was a genius in ninjutsu, then Ryosuke was undoubtedly a true taijutsu prodigy. Although Guy had encountered two geniuses, he didn't feel discouraged—he was long used to setbacks.

Moreover, being friends with such geniuses made him happier than anything.

Seeing Ryosuke, Guy smiled and said, "Have you come to spar with me again today?"

There was a time when he constantly sought out Kakashi for taijutsu sparring. He hadn't expected that one day, someone would value him in the same way.

His injuries had mostly healed, so sparring with Ryosuke wouldn't be a problem. Since there were no missions to complete lately, he could focus on improving his strength, which would enable him to take on higher-ranked missions.

His close friend Kakashi was already performing higher-level tasks in the Anbu. Guy hadn't given up on his dream of joining the Anbu himself. If his current strength wasn't enough to qualify, he simply needed to become stronger. He had that confidence.

After all, he had grown from someone who only knew taijutsu to a Chunin-level ninja. In terms of taijutsu, he wasn't inferior to Kakashi.

In fact, when opening the Eight Gates, he surpassed Kakashi. From his failures, he had found his own confidence.

However, Ryosuke shook his head and said,

"I'm not here to spar with you today."

"I came to learn the Eight Gates technique from you. Are you willing to teach me?"

Ryosuke spoke directly, stating his purpose without playing games. He believed in Guy's character. If there was anyone who couldn't be corrupted, it was Might Guy.

Unlike others, Guy wasn't one for scheming or manipulation.

Hearing Ryosuke's request, Guy's expression grew serious. The mention of the Eight Gates brought back memories of his father.

Four years ago, Guy had participated in the Third Shinobi World War between Konoha and the Hidden Mist. At the time, he was only a Genin.

He and Genma Shiranui, along with Ebisu, were surrounded by the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist.

To save the three of them, Guy's father opened the Eight Gates Formation, killing four of the Seven Swordsmen and rescuing them at the cost of his own life. His father was a great man.

Guy aspired to inherit his father's will—to protect what was precious to him and to defend the village.

Returning from his memories, Guy looked at Ryosuke. "How do you know about the Eight Gates technique?"

This question left Ryosuke puzzled. During the Third Shinobi War, the Uchiha clan had also fought against the Hidden Mist. Might Duy's feat of defeating four of the Seven Swordsmen was a major event—how could he not know about it?

"Am I not supposed to know?"
