Things he hadn't even considered were already meticulously arranged in Genya's mind, and preparations for responses had already begun!

After realizing the situation, he was now worried that Genya's genjutsu wouldn't work, or that that old man, the Third Hokage, might find out something.

Looking at the unconscious people, he wondered if he should let them leave Konoha and wander for a while.

Once it was safe, they could return.

They were up against the Third Hokage. Everything had to be handled carefully.

"It's fine. Even if the Third Hokage asks them about what happened, they won't be overly tortured!" Genya smiled, shaking his head at the worried Uchiha Shin.

He knew that the Third Hokage, being so cautious by nature, would act carefully. Even if someone suspected the disappearance of the Sarutobi clan's ninjas had something to do with them, he wouldn't make it public!

This whole situation had been caused by their desire to take action against them. If they insisted on arguing, this problem was still his fault!

If Sarutobi Hiruzen hadn't sent people to kill them, none of this would have happened!

Genya and Uchiha Shin talked for a long time, almost predicting every possible outcome of what was to come before they finally rested!

Originally, they planned to travel through the night, but after the ambush, they had to rest instead.

The next morning…

The scorching sun was high in the sky.

"How did I fall asleep?" A Chūnin slowly woke up, shielding his eyes from the blinding sunlight. He looked puzzled.

Hiss~ 

As he moved, pain shot through his body. He seemed to have been injured. Frowning, he thought to himself.

Suddenly, he remembered what happened yesterday. It seemed that ninjas had ambushed them. They had been unprepared and were all injured.

Thankfully, in the end, Uchiha Shin, their leader, stepped in and killed the attackers. No, the remaining ninjas, unable to defeat them, fled!

Realizing this, the ninja finally let out a sigh of relief.

As one person woke up, it seemed like everyone else also gradually came to their senses, almost as if it were a timed event. They all woke up slowly, frowning and thinking.

Then, their faces shifted to expressions of realization.

"You're all awake? Do you remember what happened last night?" Uchiha Shin, seeing everyone awake, approached them and asked.

"Last night? We were ambushed, but didn't you show your power and drive those ninjas away?" One of them looked at Uchiha Shin in confusion, not understanding why their leader was asking this question.

The others nodded, also looking at him with confusion.

Cough cough. 

Uchiha Shin cleared his throat twice to cover his awkwardness. "I just wanted to ask—did you recognize any of those ninjas? If we run into them again, we need to be prepared."

By asking this, Uchiha Shin was hoping to see if anyone remembered that the ninjas were from the Sarutobi clan. If anyone did, or if someone hesitated, that meant the genjutsu hadn't worked well enough, and he'd need to have Genya come back to perform it again.

"Probably some rogue ninjas from a village, right? Those guys last night were wearing ninja stealth clothes, so we couldn't tell their identities!" Someone shook their head, looking as if they were still thinking hard about who the attackers might have been.

However, no one could figure out who those ninjas were.

"It's so close to Sunagakure, I have a feeling these might be rogue ninjas from there!" One person said, feeling like they had discovered the truth.

The others nodded in agreement: "Yes, these people are probably rogue ninjas from Sunagakure. They probably wander around the desert, raiding merchants that pass by!"

"Exactly, when I visited Sunagakure before, I encountered these ninjas. Their strength isn't that great; they just like to ambush people!"

"Every village has its rogue ninjas. They survive by robbing merchants."

"Yeah, when I was delivering goods to other places, I encountered them too!"

"These types of bandits are common. Leader Shin doesn't need to worry so much!"

As they spoke, each person added their thoughts, reinforcing the information that Genya had implanted in their minds. The details were even refined as they exchanged ideas.

They didn't forget to reassure Uchiha Shin that these were just ordinary bandits.

Seeing this, Uchiha Shin finally nodded in satisfaction.

It seemed that the Genya-kun's genjutsu hypnosis really worked. It subtly changed people's minds, though Shin noticed it was mentally exhausting.

"Find somewhere to rest and recover. We'll leave tonight." After confirming everything, Uchiha Shin let them go back to rest, feeling relieved.

Suddenly, he remembered something important and walked to a shaded spot to look at the Genya-kun: "Genya-kun, are you okay?"

"Huh?" Genya had just woken up. Hearing Uchiha Shin's question, he was confused. Why was Uncle Shin asking him this? 

"Uncle Shin? What's wrong with me? I'm fine!"

The drowsiness he had before turned into a look of helplessness.

"Fine? You used a forbidden technique yesterday. How can you be fine?" Uchiha Shin looked at Genya suspiciously and said with concern, "If you're seriously injured, don't force yourself. Get some proper rest!"

After narrowly escaping death the night before, he hadn't given it much thought.

When he thought about it, Genya realized that he might have used some kind of Forbidden Ninjutsu last night to become so strong. His heart tightened with worry.

"Forbidden Ninjutsu!" 

They are usually very harmful to the body.

"Forbidden Ninjutsu?" Genya couldn't help but smile. He looked at Uchiha Shin, who had a worried expression. "Uncle Shin, who told you I used a Forbidden Ninjutsu?"

"Wasn't it?" Uchiha Shin looked at Genya, speaking seriously. "There were actually two Forbidden Ninjutsu! The first one greatly enhanced your taijutsu, and the second one—this Forbidden Ninjutsu—can reflect all ninjutsu!"

In Uchiha Shin's view, the technique that improved taijutsu shouldn't be too harmful to the body, but the ability to reflect ninjutsu was simply overpowered!

Genya had relied on this ability to crush the strength of the Sarutobi clan's ninjas.
