Naruto: Corrupting my Naruto

"Alright. You kids are dismissed."

After returning from Waves and hearing the reports, Hiruzen didn't say much but had Kakashi and Yugao stay.

He puffed his cigar, looking like he has lost another ten years in minutes.

He was thinking about Shiori. Even he was rattled at how the little girl effectively took control over Land of Waves.

She now owned 10% of the island's land in the center, and while the ports were now under a 'co-operative' organisation that is owned by all the citizens of Waves, the head was Tazuna. Who is her employee for five years.

Moreover, she now took over all the trade from Land of Water to Konoha, since Kiri is on the brink of a Civil War.

Now, she finally had an upper hand against the nobles and merchants of Land of Fire who control the basic resources.

Well, this indeed made Konoha less reliant from Daimyo's funding. After Orochimaru's defection, Uchiha Massacre and some other incidents, Daimyo has been trying to expand his influence over Konoha.

Previously, all his 'protection' came from Konoha ninjas. And after Orochimaru's defection, he dared to create non-sense like 12 Guardian Ninjas, with only two ninjas from Konoha. Thankfully, his wife is a previous Konoha ninja, and those guardian ninjas are dissolved after some discord in which half of them were killed.

It was a coincidence.

But with Shiori, Konoha now also has an alternate source of oil aside from the oil in Land of Fire and Wind.

Afterall, Kakashi can't be used to generate electricity to provide electricity to the entire village.

And acquiring Haku, an ice-release ninja for preservation of food. This is also a huge benefit for Konoha. Afterall, the fridges use too much electricity, and their production is in control of Land of Fire. Orochimaru has told him when fridges came into existence that the gas used in it, while not really that bad for food, but was really bad for the environment.

Hiruzen dismissed that, just like he dismissed Tsunade's proposal to include one medical ninja on every team.

But he came to regret that decision when Tsunade herself didn't go to battlefield in the Third Ninja War and the death rate was too high.

Recalling that, he decided to leave the task of the gas used in fridges to the future Hokage, Kakashi.

The average temperature has indeed increased by 3-4° from when he became the Hokage, and sunlight in the summers isn't as pleasant as it used to be.

Anyway, his current concern is Shiori. A 12 year old kid controlling an entire island country, and all the trade from Land of Water.

Has she been planning this all along? When she had Tazuna build the Uzumaki Park?

No. That's impossible. How old was she back then? 7? 8?

...

No. It is actually possible.

Has he given Shiori too much power?

She is not resentful against him, is she? Because according to Kakashi, Naruto already knows about Minato.

Yet, knowing the 'past', he chose to just sigh and leave it to the next Hokage. His time is coming close.

"What do you think about your students, Yugao? How did they perform in their first C-rank mission?"

"Karin's sensory abilities are too impressive. Even detecting Zabuza and his subordinate from a large distance.

As for Sai, he didn't really have any opportunity to do anything.

And Shiori, well...

She was the client, and she didn't actually need to do anything. If I have to say, she has good negotiation ability?"

Yugao also felt unnerved by Shiori's appetite for money. Though she had people think that they are now free, it's just that they are under her instead of Gato. And she is going to 'invest' a lot in the Land of Waves.

Even though Yugao wasn't very knowledgeable about politics and stuff, she knew that thinking about recruiting missing-nins is not how normal children think.

But she decided to keep her thoughts to herself, knowing that Third Hokage was close to her and Naruto.

Well, those things are for Kakashi-senpai to deal with.

Hiruzen dismissed Yugao, and talked with Kakashi for a long time.

Time passed, Shiori's team received missions within Konoha and in the Land of Fire near Konoha.

Shiori became more focused on developing Land of Waves, creating more wealth, and mainly, researching on the Executioner Sword and various things in R&D along with Karin, Sakura and sometimes Tenten.

As for Naruto's team, they performed various missions.

Naruto delivered the loots to Shiori, like the blueprint of Land of Snow's railways, Chakra Armour, Chakra suppression device, etc.

On another mission, he gave another valuable loot to Shiori, the Thunder God sword.

Those filler missions weren't worth discussing though.

Naruto's ninja skills were sharpened. He learnt many Wind style jutsus, mastered Earth style transformation, and most importantly, started delivering Mangas to Kurama in his mindscape.

Even Kurama was disgusted by Fraudkuna. Gojo vs Sukuna has just ended, and Fraudkuna only won due to stealing a brat's body.

Kurama felt disappointed after Kakashi's copy was cut in half.

He wants to give some insights on how should the story proceed from there, but he is too proud for that.

Well, atleast things aren't boring now. This doesn't mean that he will stop trying to pursue his freedom.

He wouldn't take over Naruto's body though. He completely abandoned that plan after Sukuna took over Megumi's body.

Soon, it was time for the Chunin Exam.
