Shin took Nami and left the prison.

Hina, left alone in the cell, suddenly felt a little lonely.

Before, even though Hina had been incredibly annoyed with that little thief Nami and barely wanted to speak to her, at least she'd had some company. Now that Nami was gone, she was stuck here all alone again.

"Even if I'm imprisoned for a lifetime, Hina will never succumb to becoming a pirate." Hina made a vow.

Whether she'd eventually eat those words remained to be seen. After all, nobody escapes the universal law of ironic reversals.

Nami followed behind Shin, her eyes darting everywhere, taking in the ship's opulence.

'So luxurious, I wonder how much money they have aboard.' Thinking of money, Nami's eyes immediately turned into Berry symbols.

She couldn't help it—loving money was in her nature. Since childhood, she had wanted to save money to buy Cocoyasi Village, so she had developed a habit of liking money.

That habit was permanent now, unlikely to ever change.

————

"What do you think?"

Shin's voice startled Nami from her monetary daydreams. She tensed momentarily before relaxing.

She'd already joined the Kuja Pirates. Nothing bad would happen to her now.

"It's amazing, the best ship I've ever seen." Nami admitted with a smile.

If the ship hadn't looked so impressive, she wouldn't have tried stealing from it. Of course, instead of successful theft, she'd gotten herself captured.

"You're actually the first person brave enough to steal from my ship." Shin mentioned to Nami.

"You're not holding a grudge about that, are you?" Nami asked nervously.

"If I held grudges over that, I wouldn't have let you join. From now on, you're the Kuja Pirates' navigator."

Shin directly appointed Nami as the navigator.

"Oh." Nami stared at him in surprise. Becoming navigator suited her perfectly, but he seemed to know everything about her already.

"By the way, Captain, your name is Shin Uzumaki?"

Nami asked—she'd heard it from Hina.

Honestly, in the One Piece world, his name stood out as particularly unusual.

"That's right. You can call me Captain or just use my name. I don't care about formalities." Shin told her.

"Okay." Studying Shin, Nami felt her new captain seemed pretty easygoing. Her lingering worries evaporated completely.

What Nami didn't realize was that Shin's easygoing nature was selective. He wasn't approachable with everyone.

Mistaking him for a pushover would be a grave error.

"Which direction is your hometown?" Shin wasn't familiar with the East Blue and lacked navigational charts. He didn't know Cocoyashi Village's location.

"Should I draw it out?" Nami offered.

"Forget it. You pilot the ship—you're our navigator now." Shin shook his head slightly.

Drawing charts would take too long. Better to let Nami handle navigation directly since she was already the navigator.

"But first, meet the crew."

————

Shin brought Nami onto the deck. Seeing the girl trailing behind him, Olvia and the others exchanged curious looks.

"Why did you bring this little thief out?" Robin asked Shin.

"Damn it! Why does everyone call me a thief?"

Nami was furious, but she couldn't argue with the accusation. Because she really was a thief—there was no denying that fact.

"She's the person I was looking for. From now on, Nami's our navigator. The previous navigator can handle other duties."

Shin announced to Hancock and the others.

After his declaration, both Hancock and Robin studied Nami with intense curiosity, making her squirm uncomfortably.

"I wonder what's so special about her..." Robin mused.

"You'll see for yourself eventually. Nami has real talent for navigation, even if she's still inexperienced."

Nami's childhood dream was to map the entire world. She'd been passionate about cartography since she was young. And it was exactly because of her natural ability that Arlong had exploited her, forcing her to draw nautical charts for his crew.

Seeing nearly everyone staring at her with doubt in their eyes, Nami felt her frustration spike, but she kept her mouth shut. She knew there was only one way to make them eat their words—prove herself through her own abilities.

————

Afterward, they set course for Cocoyashi Village. Shin had Kalifa show Nami around to familiarize her with the Pluton.

Since she'd joined the Kuja Pirates, she needed to know her way around the ship.

Under Nami's navigation, they began sailing toward Cocoyashi Village.

Shin also explained to Hancock and the others why they were heading to Cocoyasi Village. After hearing his reasons, none of them objected.

Nami was now part of the Kuja Pirates crew. Any trouble she faced was their trouble too. When it came to problems like this, they naturally had to help her work things out.

So nobody raised any objections—everyone agreed to head to Cocoyasi Village and deal with Arlong once and for all.

Nami was deeply touched. She'd only just joined the crew, yet they were already willing to fight her battles.

"Big sisters, Arlong is very strong. Even swords can't hurt him." Nami said to Robin and the others. Though newly acquainted, they'd quickly grown familiar. Nami wanted to warn them about Arlong's terrifying strength to prevent injuries.

"Swords can't hurt him? I'd like to see him try to block my blade," Hancock said dismissively.

A small-time East Blue pirate, how strong could he be?

After asking around, they'd learned Arlong's bounty was only 20 million Beli. With such a pitiful bounty, his strength had limits.

Actually, Arlong's abilities warranted a slightly higher bounty, but even then, the increase would be minimal.

"Don't worry. You're seriously underestimating your big sisters here." Olvia patted Nami's head reassuringly.

"I think calling yourself Nami's big sister is a bit of a stretch, considering your actual age—"

Before Shin could finish his sentence, a bolt of lightning shot straight at him. Olvia was now glaring at him with ice-cold fury in her eyes.

"Ahem, just kidding! Don't be mad."

Shin cleared his throat quickly and spoke again. This time, it was clear he had angered Olvia—no, she was definitely angry.

"Speaking of age, shouldn't we discuss her instead? She time-traveled from eight hundred years ago." Olvia deflected toward Amatsuki Toki.

Amatsuki Toki was stunned upon hearing this. 'Hey, I was just watching the drama! I'm an innocent bystander, why drag me into this?'
