Naruto: Awakening Eternal Power with My Eye Techniques

Chapter 146: The Honest Fugaku

Yet, once the Ninja Village System was established, the nature of war underwent a dramatic change. Except for the First Great Ninja World War, which still contained elements of personal hatred, the Second Great Ninja World War became purely a struggle over interests.

Shiyu Uchiha began explaining this history in detail to Fugaku, analyzing both Great Ninja World Wars from an overall perspective of the ninja world. It was like listening to a history teacher who really knew how to make things clear—even for beginners.

In the end, Shiyu Uchiha emphasized that the root behind these two Great Ninja World Wars was entirely interest-driven. Various nations were willing to launch large-scale wars just to seize more resources and territories.

Such conflicts over interests would inevitably grow fiercer each time, bringing tremendous destruction to the ninja world and costing countless innocent lives—except for those wars dominated by the Uchiha Clan.

Guided by Shiyu Uchiha, Fugaku finally developed a true understanding of the individual, the family, the village, and indeed, the entire ninja world.

He now understood that every person is a complex being with independent thoughts and goals; families are collective groups formed by many individuals sharing common bloodlines and traditions, though each member also possesses unique personalities and pursuits;

The village is home to all ninjas, requiring joint protection and development efforts from everyone;

And the entire ninja world is a place filled with challenges and opportunities—a world in which only the strong can survive and thrive.

Lastly, under Shiyu's implication, he summarized, "The upper echelons of Konoha feel threatened by the Uchiha Clan, seeking to separate the village from the Uchiha before suppressing them using only Konoha's own strength." This statement shocked Fugaku, who had never considered things could be so serious. He widened his eyes, his face filled with horror, and stood up involuntarily.

Fugaku Uchiha tried to argue against this conclusion, finding such claims overly biased and one-sided. However, when reexamining his conversation with Shiyu Uchiha, he found himself unable to locate any compelling evidence supporting his own viewpoint.

He couldn't deny it—he had to admit, Shiyu Uchiha's analysis made a lot of sense and fit perfectly with what was happening now. So, he sat back down, falling into deep contemplation.

Every time he went over their conversation again, he found some new insight he hadn't noticed before. His perception of the present situation became clearer, and he understood why the Uchiha Clan had been perceived as a threat.

At the same time, he realized that as the head of a clan, he couldn't focus solely on his family's interests. He must also grasp the direction of Konoha's development and understand other clans' situations to better manage inter-clan relations.

"Is this the kind of vision a clan leader is expected to have?" Fugaku Uchiha asked gravely. He felt unprepared to shoulder such immense responsibility, even doubting whether he had the ability to bear it.

"An ordinary clan leader indeed wouldn't need this quality, but the leader of Konoha Village and the Uchiha Clan does. After all, who else has the strongest bloodline ability in the ninja world? No one can afford to forget us—we're just too strong."

"So, as the head of the Uchiha Clan, one must possess sharp insight and decisive judgment to lead the clan toward a better future." Shiyu Uchiha calmly responded to Fugaku Uchiha, clearly pointing out Fugaku's shortcomings.

Upon hearing Shiyu's words, Fugaku fell silent, internally accepting this truth. He began to realize he wasn't truly suited for this role—Shiyu clearly was.

Eventually, Mikoto Uchiha left alongside the troubled Fugaku. Shiyu felt a sense of helplessness—he had originally planned to engage in an intense fight to prove his strength and earn Fugaku's respect.

However, it now seemed that Fugaku was even weaker than he'd anticipated, making all of Shiyu's preparations unnecessary. As Shiyu saw Fugaku off, he couldn't help but mutter to himself: "That's it? You're done before I've even finished talking—you're just too weak."

Shiyu had initially intended to elevate the conversation into a historical reflection on the rise and fall of the ninja world over the past millennium, concluding with a unified ideology and theories for eliminating war.

However, noticing that Fugaku no longer had the energy to listen, Shiyu reluctantly gave up. After taking a sip of tea, Shiyu realized he was growing fond of this feeling of intellectual superiority.

After seeing off Fugaku and Mikoto, Shiyu met with Shizhi Uchiha once again. Summarizing the situation, Shizhi remarked, "If Hiruzen Sarutobi were truly a kind man, there's no way he could have become Hokage. In fact, except for the First Hokage, none of the Kages in the ninja world can really be considered righteous people.

Yet recently, the actions of men like Hiruzen have become increasingly outrageous." As she spoke, Shizhi couldn't help but frown.

This was also one of the reasons why Shizhi did not choose Fugaku. Although he appeared fierce on the surface, he was actually quite gentle-hearted—perhaps suitable as a son-in-law, but definitely unfit to be the clan leader. He simply couldn't handle those other individuals.

Shizhi shook her head helplessly, inwardly sighing at how she could have given birth to such a cunning son. However, she quickly attributed this trait to a combination of influences from both parents—evil coming from his father, while his intelligence was inherited from herself.

Meanwhile, a question surfaced in Shiyu's mind: why were Fugaku's two sons so drastically different from him in personality? As his eyes casually caught sight of someone's retreating back, the answer suddenly dawned on him—he realized that the sons had taken after their mother instead! This realization made everything clear.

After dealing a blow to Fugaku's confidence, Shiyu carried a [Sharingan Secret Jutsu] scroll and headed to visit Renga Uchiha, the deputy head of the Police Department. On the way, Shiyu recalled once again the instructions from Shizhi.

As one of the most outstanding shinobi within the clan, Renga possessed great potential to break through to Kage-level.

Uchiha Shizhi had once hoped to pass the position of clan leader to him after he successfully broke through to the Kage level.

However, Renga Uchiha remained stuck at that bottleneck for over a decade, unable to cross that barrier. For him, the [Sharingan Secret Jutsu] had become his last hope.

Faced with the situation, Uchiha Shizhi gave Shiyu Uchiha two choices: the first was to beat him right away and then grant him the [Sharingan Secret Jutsu] as a favor;

The second choice was to teach him the [Sharingan Secret Jutsu] first, and then challenge him after he'd mastered it.
