Naoya in Naruto

Chapter 11: 11. Recovery.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

1.9k have nothing left to write about in this chapter. Don't really feel like fleshing out the servant girl at all, so its a problem for future me.

-------------------

After we found the, thankfully, intact bodies of my teammates, I took them back to our hideout while Deiki freed the villagers. Or what was left of them. To my surprise, shortly after I had carried them back to our camp, the two awakened. Baki looked around, his eyes frantically searching for where our target was. Karin, however, screamed her lungs out, while clutching her head. Guess that pounding really took its toll on her.

I sat on a stump a few meters away from them, with our trophies in my hands. I threw the fathers head at Karin. She caught it, momentarily distracted from her woes, before she started screaming once more, throwing the head high in the air. I jumped up after it, before catching it. I slapped Karin over the top of her head.

She punched me in the stomach. I threw the head at Baki, before catching Karin in a choke-hold. My teammate put the head aside, before separating me from Karin. He then bit the air. I turned towards Karin. Her head was turned away, a pout on her face.

"Oi, woman. Make yourself useful and undress so Baki can use you." Karin turned a bright red at my words, while Baki looked angry at me. He sighed, before asking.

"Where is Deiki? And our target?" Before I could respond, Karin interjected, seemingly recovered from her earlier embarrassment.

"Did the mighty Zenin fail?" I stared at Karin. She stared at me.

"You have lost kitchen privileges. Cooking is to important a task to be left to you. This is our target." I threw the hand towards her. She caught it. She threw it back. I socked her in the head with it.

"You haven't undressed yet."

Baki clapped his hands. He then pointed at me.

"What? What did I do? If you want to get Karin, you should talk to the Kusakage. Then to Hotai to make her more obidie-" Baki put his hand over my mouth.

"DEIKI. Where is Deiki." He looked at me with a certain look. He really can't wait huh? Well I'm sure the Kusakage won't mind if our sensei vouches.

"Yeah I think he also has the authority to give h-" I was interrupted by a shout.

"WHERE IS HE?" That was quite rude. I was getting to it. Guess he really can't wait.

"He is freeing what is left of the villagers. So if you went I'm sure he will approve of it." I was met by an awkward silence. They are giving me the cold shoulder... OH! I get it. Baki was insinuating I should go fetch Deiki, while the two have their 'fun'.

"I will go get him so you two can begin your fun." I flashed Baki a grin, only to met with a tired sigh. He waved me off and I left to help Deiki.

--------------------

As I approached Deiki, I was met with a tired sigh and a frown. He was talking to some women, before turning to me.

"Why did you leave your injured teammates alone?" I looked at Deiki as he spoke. I flashed him a suggestive grin.

"Baki couldn't contain himself anymore, so he sent me to tell you to give Karin to him." Deiki froze in shock for a second, before he recovered.

"Very funny. Why did you actually leave them?" After he was done speaking, I raised one of my eyebrows, as I said.

"So they could have their fun." Deiki sighed once more, before he turned to me.

"Take care of the villagers, even the women. Understood?" I nodded.

---------------------

I paced along the line of civilians I had gathered outside, my back straight, arms behind my back, as I looked at them gravely. As I passed a child, I saw that he had injured his hand. I took it in my own, before sighing.

"That has to be amputated." I smiled as the child entered a panic. "I'm joking, I'm joking. Calm down."

I was 'forced' to say this, as I had spotted Deiki approaching with my teammates, who now both bore bandages on their heads. I would have liked to make fun of the child for a bit longer. With everyone else at full capacity, I laid on the ground and went to sleep. Most of my body burned, with some of my ribs definitely broke. I needed rest.

---------------------

When I awoke, I was being pulled by Baki. My right foot was tied to his body through a two-meter long rope, with my body being dragged along, and bouncing on the ground every so often. I watched as my team went on, unbothered by the thumps I some times produced.

I Projected in front of them, and started running. Baki promptly started tumbling, as he was suddenly pulled from his rhythm. This did not last long however, as he quickly recovered, cut the rope, then got back on his feet.

"Finally awake, sleeping princess?" Deiki asked, with a small smile.

"Guess you aren't as resilient as you thought you were, eh?" asked Karin right after, with a smug smile.

"Had to take my beauty sleep in. Not that YOU would know anything about beauty, Karin." I replied with a grin of my own.

Before Karin could reply, Deiki clapped his hands, to draw our attention. He turned towards us, while running backwards. He had a proud smile on his face.

"You all did a great job. Your performance was above my expectations. I am proud of you." Both Karin and Baki had puffed their chests out in pride, straightening their back. I just had a knowing smile on my face, as I looked at my Jonin sensei.

"I have decided that we will go to the Chunin Exam that will be held in the Konoha. Since you three managed to take down someone that could be considered a Tokubetsu Jonin, I believe you three are more than qualified to become Chunin."

I simply smiled again. The reason we waited so long for the promotion was because, the Kusakage wanted us to be on the standard of the Great Villages, and for that wonderful networking opportunity. By sending some of our best talents to Konoha, we would essentially be assuring that the next generation of leadership in both countries would be on good terms. This would guarantee a pretty good future for not only Kusagakure, but also for the Land of Grass.

Meanwhile, my two teammates could not contain their excitement, to them, it seemed like they were being held back, as they reached the level of skill and power necessary to become a Chunin in Kusa a while ago. While I could have been a Chunin a long time ago, by Great Village standards. Without Projection I would only be Genin, as I generally lack in versatility outside of it.

With these news, we returned to Kusa in high spirits.

-------------------

I was awoken by the servant, with a breakfast already prepared for me. I smiled, as I savored the meal. This is what kings lived like. Being able to off-load most of your menial work onto others, with servants at your beck and call. I might be lacking in quantity, but the quality of my servant makes up for it.

I mean, she does my monthly reports for me, keeps the whole estate clean and, whenever I need to relax, she makes time for a massage. This is bliss. Rich, careless, and powerful. Careless maybe not, but the other two are true.

Unfortunately for me, I couldn't exactly make her go do my missions for me. Mostly because Deiki wont let me. And because Hotai keeps bringing her back whenever I try, before she could complete it.

After I ate, she wiped my mouth, and changed me into my usual outfit. She even tied my forehead protector to my arm for me. Maybe, just maybe, women could be useful. And hope remained in my heart that it could be true.

Until I saw Karin. She stood perpendicularly on a tree. Until she didn't. A loud thump was heard, once she impacted the ground. Before I could mock her, Deiki appeared before me. I was then thrown into a tree. Or maybe pushed into it so hard that it collapsed.

No matter how it happened, I was now halfway through a tree. With this done, Deiki motioned me closer to him, and then he grabbed me again. However, this time, he had caught onto me by my sleeve. I promptly discarded my robe, before trying to dropkick him in the head.

Keyword there was trying. I was once again grabbed, this time by my foot, and was rapidly approaching a rock. Oh well.

--------------------

Turns out, Karin was training her endurance, to get her used to operating even at near chakra exhaustion, in preparation for the Chunin Exam. Which was good. Baki was training to use Hiding Like a Mole Technique, to have an option for escape as well. And I was thrown around for a bit because I was late.

Expect the unexpected, said Deiki, when I told him that last time we talked, I was told this training session began a few hours after sunrise. Allegedly, it was a few hours before sunrise. I grumbled as I fixed a bandage which had fallen onto my face, as I had not Reinforced in time, and hit a rock with the full force of a Jonin's throw.

Right now, we were resting. This was already our third training session since our last mission. After this, we would have a free week, before we would set off for Konoha.

-------------------

Deiki told us to relax, and rest both mentally and physically, as we would warm up on the road. And, I, as his bestest student, followed his words to the letter. I made my servant do all my work, as always. I made her close down the spa she had built when I told her to expand my clans assets, and I spent a few days in it. I even allowed her to accompany me to the spa, for her to relax a bit.

I am such a good master. I really should be putting up some recruitment posters. I doubt there could be someone who would treat their servants better than me. I ate out at restaurants everyday, to help me relax, of course. I also went to some horse races. For relaxation only! I assure you I did not lose the money I had allocated to myself for the day in a few minutes.

I spent the day with Hotai, out of the goodness of my heart, and not because of a lack of funds to do anything else. I was only making sure the old man had company in his dying moments. When I told him about my noble intentions, he shouted at me, claiming he was only twenty-nine. Dementia is a scary thing.

The rest of the days were a blur, with horse racing now being a banned activity for me. Even my servant put a note to not go there anymore, as that would 'hurt my public image'. These plebs and women should be honored I live amongst them, let alone take the time out of my day to frequent their streets in search of entertainment.

Truly, Kusa has fallen.
