Nomad War-Final
Once everything was done, David pulled the people injured out, putting them onto AVs, since they'd already been hit with a boost stim, all it would take is time for them to come back to the better of their health.
Rebecca had gone... Crazy with her little fun party. Discounted genocide really, and with herself cleaned up they looted the place for any valuables, dismantling guns for parts, as well as other scraps. Having the nanites consume everything that could be made of use, and destroy anything that couldn't. Whipping all evidence of the shivs in the area at once.
David also took the rest of the night to go around all the other bases, doing the same as he did to the main one. Dismantling them for parts, and destroying what he couldn't use directly to only leave the barren badlands.
Once he finished he returned to the Aldecaldos camp, being met with cheers since Rebecca and Lucy had already returned with the injured and said it was a job complete.
And of course, the only thing to do after a successful job?
Party.
Unlike the kind of parties you could have in the city, Nomad Parties went all out, shipping food and drink to them, small bonfires dotted around the camp for light, and then a massive one near the middle.
The nomads were like family, as well as very relaxed with each other and new people that they could trust. A lot of one-night flings would happen tonight between the Nomads and the Merc and Valentinos that David brought in which only left him with an amused expression through the night.
As the party was starting to slow down, as the sun was soon to rise David went to Saul who after some words of 'wisdom', that were more like people slapping him around about the ordeal, Saul had gotten a happier look on his face.
Pressing a Broship beer to Saul's shoulder to get his attention, David jerked his head a bit, the universal sign of 'let's take a walk.'. Saul nodded, excusing himself from the conversation he had been in and stood up, walking with David. By how far they were going without saying anything, Saul could tell it was a private talk.
Once they got far enough away, he spoke up.
''I want to hire the Adlecaldos for some business, and possibly other 'friendly' nomad families.''
''Hire us? Depend on what's the job.''
''Technically, trash 'disposal'. I'm going to start cleaning up night city, and I need to start with moving that mountain of trash away from the city, I want you to get all the metal, tech, and other like trash and take it to a factory about a 15-minute drive where it will be sorted through, scrapped for parts, and all scrap not used will be crushed into large cubes. In return, I will pay you 4k eddies per ton delivered, sorted through, and scrapped. I'll pay for gas and get you medical benefits as well as a direct contract to Armstrong Inc for anything they might come to acquire.''
''That... That explains a bit, I haven't heard much about them, but I heard that this new Armstrong corporation had some top tech?''
''Top tech that's affordable, I'll also let you guys pick through the scrap as well for any parts you might want or need.''
''Wait, so let me get this straight... 12k per ton, free gas and medical, a contract with Armstrong Inc, and what else, will you have people to rub our feet?''
David grinned a bit, sipping at his own beer before he asked. ''Do you want that? I can find a way.''
Saul shook his head. ''I'm not going to question it, this sounds like a deal to good to be true... But if it's from you, it is true.''
''Well, remember. You'll be picking through trash, and whereas I'll have showers and some houses set up around the factory for everyone, it's not going to be 'clean' work.''
''We're used to getting our hands dirty... At least this time we'll be getting them dirty for a good cause... And access to all that scrap? We've been stealing from the dumb for ages, but now we can freely take from it, is it alright if we tune up some big rigs?''
''The more you can do, and the faster you can do it, Safely? The better for me so go ahead. You'll be working beneath me, but let's not let anyone know that except those who need to know. I'll be building a company you can officially work under within the next few months.''
Saul stopped, taking David's hand and shaking it firmly. ''After everyone heals up, we'll move. What are the coordinates?''
Their eyes both flashed gently at the transfer of information. Saul nodded before he brought David into a hug, patting his shoulder firmly. ''Thank you, David... You saved us from a major fuck up, and you've also made it so we can start saving up some money, and upgrading our equipment.''
''That's what families are for, right? Let's get back to the party before people start thinking we're having a romantic getaway.''
The both of them shared a laugh as they came back, a few people questioning Saul about what they talked about, but he only elaborated by saying it was him asking how he could return the favor David did for them.
Once David chatted some more, he eventually made his way back into his tent to go lay down with Lucy and Rebecca, with them on either side of his chest so his hands could get a firm grip on their ass he fell asleep.
Around noon they finally woke up, and after saying goodbye to everyone, they headed into their AV and headed out, David needed to return to his busy life now that he had taken time out to get some trash cleaned up, this would also mean for a few other projects he could start pushing faster, one of them being the clean air operations, expanding that factory would increase how fast he could return the atmosphere to normal.
He had set up a few smaller atmosphere scrubbers in the city, to just start helping with the air pollution and the overall smell of the city, it was slight. But at this point, the city smelling even a little better goes a long way.
Once they arrived in the city, the first thing they did was take out any Shivs that had made it to the city or had been in the city when it happened. Getting to all of them was easy as most of them were in abandoned buildings, or were blissfully unaware of the situation and could be taken out when no one was looking.
Once that mess was cleaned up, David got a confirmation of the job Lucy sent Falco on completed, and noticed an automatic withdrawal of 200 eddies, the same price for a single bullet.
With that final thing marked off the list, David's hands were washed of the event for now, or until he felt like picking on another gang... The Sixers were getting pretty ballsy, some even deliberately trying to mess with some Valentinos.
