Chapter 1176: Auspicious Beast White Fox

Setting aside the envy of others for the moment, at this time, the largest cluster of white light, split from the Heavenly Cauldron and the Human Cauldron, also descended and unsurprisingly hit Chen Xi, who instinctively reached out with both hands and tried to block it for some reason.

The white light instantly split into nine beams, merging into Chen Xi's body. The originally vast pure white fortune manifested completely after absorbing this portion of Qi fortune, surrounded by a mist of seven-colored light as a giant white fox groomed its nine tails, enveloping Chen Xi.

The misty seven-colored aura wrapped around the white fox, whose immense form virtually pushed everyone except for Liu Bei outward upon appearing, suppressing even other individuals' fortune manifestation bodies that were emerging.

Those nine big tails, as white as snow, simply enveloped Chen Xi just like that.

The image of all of Chen Xi's fortune manifested in such a way was a Nine-Tailed White Fox, half-closing its eyes and lazily wrapping itself with its tails for a nap.

"What the heck is this?" Only when all the fortunes had completely manifested did Chen Xi come out of his daze and reflexively grab a handful of the fluffy white fur in front of him, but everything vanished in an instant.

"Uh..." Chen Xi glanced around in confusion. Where was that large fluffy thing he saw earlier?

"Zichuan, what are you looking at?" Liu Bei saw everything clearly. Just as he understood that the golden dragon previously manifested in the sky represented himself, he also knew that the white fox represented all of Chen Xi's fortune.

Though enormous to such an extent, it did indeed seem almost mythological. Fortunately, the white fox's character was gentle, just as the dragon symbolizes the emperor's fortune, the Nine-Tailed White Fox is one of the four great auspicious beings of the Han Dynasty.

Even though it was indeed very enormous, nonetheless it was a good sign. The bigger it is, the more it demonstrates capability, doesn't it? Its immense size was a clear indicator of great strength, wasn't it?

Liu Bei saw very clearly the huge Nine-Tailed White Fox, its fluffy, harmless appearance, and that lazy, half-closed expression, almost seemed to be cast from the same mold as Chen Xi, making Liu Bei curious whether fortune manifestation bodies could change according to the person.

[In essence, it's not the ancient auspicious beast that chose Zichuan as a manifestation, but rather Chen Xi believed it should manifest in this way? Compared to essence, Zichuan is much closer to the essence of auspiciousness conferred by the mythological faith of humanity over thousands of years than mere myth...]

Li Youu thought with a wry smile, the king's benevolent wisdom of the Nine-Tailed Fox, the starting of chaos until great order, bringing destruction and rebirth - from the symbolic implications of the reconstructive auspicious beast, its essence was the spiritual faith recognized by thousands of generations of people, and Chen Xi might already be close to this essence.

[The image of the White Fox was inherently most suitable for Zichuan, and the people's will also aligned with Zichuan, so the White Fox emphasized virtue over power.] Jia Xu pieced together the cause and effect almost instantly.

"Earlier I saw a vast heap of fluffy things that looked very warm, spread all over the ground, and now they're nowhere to be found." Chen Xi scanned around, feeling somewhat dazzled.

It was only then did Chen Xi realize the large group of people who were behind him earlier were now far away from him. Even the closest ones, Li Youu, Qu Qi, and Zhuge Liang, were dozens of steps away from him, whereas he could have sworn they were a mere step away earlier.

"Why did you all suddenly move so far away?" Chen Xi asked in confusion. Unsure if it was an illusion or something else, when Chen Xi glanced at Qu Qi, he vaguely saw a multicolored grain ear.

The whole crowd fell silent, not knowing how to answer Chen Xi's question. Within the Long Xingyu, not mingling with worldly things, high and distant as the heavens, its full view elusive, unlike Chen Xi's immediate colossal Nine-Tailed White Fox manifestation right where he stood.

"Ahem, didn't you feel anything when the Heavenly Cauldron and Human Cauldron bestowed something on you just now?" Li Youu walked toward Chen Xi after clearing his throat twice, and others were gradually returning to the rear court as well, though they were looking at Chen Xi in an odd way.

"Celestial Fortune and Fate," Chen Xi thought for a moment and understood what that cluster of white light was. "But how is this related to my question?"

"Celestial Fortune and Fate together are called Fortune. After receiving the blessing of the Heaven-Man Dual Cauldrons, our Fortunes were all manifested." Jia Xu also came up to explain at this point.

"Those with weaker fortunes like me find it hard to manifest, while those slightly stronger would manifest a form, which would eventually resemble ancient ferocious beasts or auspicious beasts." Mi Zhu stated with a wry smile, then hesitated as he recalled Li Youu's bizarrely graceful phantasmal image, "Perhaps it would also resemble ancient sages."

Mi Zhu was being self-deprecating; in fact, just being able to manifest Fortune was quite formidable, even if it wasn't fully formed. However, comparing oneself with others can be vexing, especially seeing Chen Xi's Nine-Tailed Fox manifestation, any thoughts Mi Zhu had utterly vanished.

"Simply put, when your Fortune manifested, we were all blasted away." Zhang Fei said with a wry smile.

Zhang Fei's Fortune manifested a half-shadowed white tiger, but before it could solidify, it was suppressed back by Chen Xi's Fortune. To be precise, among everyone present at the scene, except for Li Youu who manifested an ancient sage image directly, and Jia Xu and Guo Jia who were being sly, except for Zhuge Liang who manifested by enduring Chen Xi's suppressive Fortune, everyone else was suppressed.

However, these fellows didn't have low fortunes. Once Chen Xi's suppression vanished, everyone's fortunes manifested almost simultaneously. Yet, somehow Qu Qi's grain ear seemed particularly amusing.

"Uh, what was my manifested Fortune?" Chen Xi looked around. He was in a daze when enveloped by Celestial Fortune and Fate and had no idea what exactly he manifested, all he saw was a pile of fluffy fur.

"Auspicious Beast, Nine-Tailed White Fox, a symbol of the king's benevolent wisdom, also a symbol of the end of an era and the beginning of a new era." Lub Su looked at Chen Xi with an odd expression.

During the Fortune manifestation, Lub Su wondered if Chen Xi might manifest a Baize or Cunning Beast, considering Baize's knowledge of past, present, and future, and insight from celestial phenomena to trivial matters, or the Cunning Beast's signifying bountiful harvest, both fitted Chen Xi quite well.

Ultimately, Chen Xi manifested a seemingly half-asleep Nine-Tailed White Fox, surprising Lub Su greatly. Yet after the surprise, Lub Su felt that this manifestation was fitting because Chen Xi indeed has been breaking the old era and starting a new one.

"..." Chen Xi felt an eye twitch. Though he knew that at this time, the White Fox was one of the four great auspicious beasts, during this period, the fox wasn't purely a positive omen either.

Regardless of whether it was an omen or not, what's important is why it had to be a Nine-Tailed Fox. Chen Xi had no desire to be mentioned as a Fox Immortal thousands of years later, nor to be associated with enchantresses who brought ruin to kingdoms... (To be continued.
