Mythical Era: My Evolution into a Celestial Beast

Chapter 991: Armies Gather, Breaking Through to The Supreme Level

The very moment the Ancestral Court demon god Livedes uttered the words "primordial origin," six surges of uncontrollable demon god pressure erupted, shrouding the entire sky in demonic force. The newly promoted demon god still hadn't realized what the term truly signified.

Around Tyretis, endless dark-red radiance swirled, distorting time and space into an abyssal hell. It stared at Livedes, its voice deep and grim. "Livedes, do you even understand what you're saying?"

Before Tyretis, whose true form stood a hundred thousand meters tall, the ten-thousand-meter-tall Livedes appeared no different from an infant. Beneath the crushing pressure of Tyretis' principles, it could barely lift its head. It slowly said, "Of course I do. How could I joke about something like this? You all must have seen that fallen primordial star a few day-cycles ago. It crashed right between the battlefield where Deorus' empire clashed with the human race. Moreover, its world principles have been dissipating rapidly. Two day-cycles ago, signs of collapse began appearing. Even Belitir and the others saw it. At the current rate of dissipation, in just a few or perhaps a dozen day-cycles, a passageway into and out of that primordial world will open. In such a short span, how much primordial origin do you think would still remain? Five strands? A dozen, perhaps?"

As Livedes finished speaking, the eyes of every demon god turned bloodshot. Tyretis in particular radiated a terrifying glow from its gaze. At its current level, even a single strand of primordial origin could allow it to break through into the true spirit level and touch the immortal realm.

However, without such a creation-level divine object, it could very well remain stuck at this bottleneck for thousands, even tens of thousands of years. Not due to lack of talent, but because the entire Purgatory Clan had only ever produced one true-spirit-level being, and only one true-spirit-level bloodline source could exist at a time.

Suppressing the boiling blood within, Tyretis coldly said, "You came here to deliver this news about the primordial origin, which suggests things aren't going well on your end."

Tyretis wasn't foolish. It understood clearly that Livedes and the others hadn't shared this information out of kindness.

Livedes's response was a faint, bitter smile. "It's not just going poorly. The situation is dire. So dire, in fact, that four demon gods fell in the last battle. That includes Sigitiko of the Ankor empire. It perished just half a day-cycle ago."

At once, the seven demon gods revealed expressions of shock and disbelief. Karotis, ruler of the Freymund Empire, was especially shaken. "Impossible. Sigitiko was at the late stage. Its demonic weapon was just shy of reaching world-level. Its strength rivaled even the peak of the ancient titan level. If Sigitiko had truly wanted to escape, even you, Tyretis, would have had difficulty killing it, let alone a mere human. Unless... a true-spirit-level being intervened?"

Karotis' astonishment was understandable. Sigitiko's power wasn't far beneath that of the other empire rulers; even if slightly weaker, the gap was negligible. If the humans could slay Sigitiko, didn't that mean they could also slay it?

"True spirit level... close enough," Livedes muttered, still haunted by the image of that colossal beast and its world-shattering might.

Tyretis narrowed his eyes. "The human race has a true spirit?"

Livedes clarified, "Not a real true spirit. It was a colossal beast temporarily summoned by one of the human powerhouses. It was only at the demon god level, but once it entered a form infused with destructive power, its strength instantly rivaled that of a true spirit. If that summoned beast hadn't upset the balance, we might not have been able to crush the human alliance outright, but we definitely wouldn't have lost. Unfortunately, that beast's arrival overturned everything and suppressed Sigitiko right at the start..."

Livedes proceeded to detail the current structure of the human alliance—its inclusion of the Heavenly Feathered Race, the Alliance of Gods, and more. By the time it finished, Tyretis and the other demon gods had fallen into a grim silence.

None of them had expected that, without their notice, the eastern front had already fostered such a formidable alliance. After absorbing the remnants of the Heavenly Feathered Race, they now had seven beings at the demon god level.

In addition, there were four others who possessed demon-god-level combat strength. Two of them matched pinnacle great demon kings in power. The other heavenly kings, called Zhenwu and Divine Might, were comparable to the rulers of ordinary empires. With that colossal beast among them, unless the Purgatory Clan united all of its current forces and the eight great empires acted in concert, they had little chance of victory.

Tyretis said solemnly, "It seems we're not the only ones. You've gone to find Cardeos as well, haven't you?"

Though phrased as a question, Tyretis' tone left no room for denial. Livedes nodded. "Right now, the humans and their allies are far too powerful, especially that beast. We've calculated it. Only you and Cardeos can face that beast head-on. Working together, you might be able to suppress it and stall out the summoning time limit of half a star-quarter. Once the beast disappears, the remaining human powerhouses and Heavenly Feathered remnants will be no match for us. But to ensure everything goes smoothly, we must strike with the unstoppable momentum of thunder when we do act, and wipe out this alliance in a single battle. If we delay any longer, unforeseen variables might emerge."

A flicker of killing intent surfaced in Tyretis' eyes. "The so-called variable must be that human named Chu Batian. He truly is a threat."

Tyretis hadn't expected that in less than a single day-cycle, the same human who had slain Ikosela and summoned a breath attack to stop it from tearing open the Eternal Divine Region had grown even stronger, to the point of suppressing Kaodes, a demonic dragon at the middle stage of the ancient realm, in a direct clash.

Whether as a vessel for summoning colossal beasts or for that unbelievable rate of power growth and overwhelming strength, Chen Chu had to die. If given even two more day-cycles, Tyretis feared that Chen Chu wouldn't even need to summon a beast. He would be able to challenge it head-on.

Tyretis turned to look at Karotis and the other demon gods. Its voice was cold and low. "This is no longer Deorus' affair. It concerns the very survival of the Purgatory Clan. You understand what I mean, don't you?"

Karotis nodded slowly. "Of course I understand. Until the human race is annihilated, the grudge between me and the Segondo Empire will be temporarily set aside."

Among the eight great empires of the Purgatory Clan, the Freymund and Segondo Empires were sworn enemies. Likewise, friction existed between the Arikasa and Belvetan Empires. Moreover, the fallen Belitir and another demon god had also been longtime foes.

If it weren't for Tyretis and another great demon god keeping things in check, the Purgatory Clan would've long erupted into civil war; organizing expeditions against other civilizations would have been downright impossible.

Of course, Karotis wasn't setting aside its hatred for the so-called greater good. To demon gods, even if the entire Purgatory Demon Clan perished, it wouldn't matter as long as they survived. What truly made it willing to cooperate was the primordial origin. If it could obtain a strand, it could use that primordial power to reshape its soul and true form, breaking the shackles of its Purgatory bloodline.

"Send out the order. Mobilize the armies immediately. Target: the eastern battlefield. Livedes, has Cardeos been informed?"

"I'm not sure about its situation. Stephenel was the one sent to notify it, and it's farther away than you are."

On the Blue Planet, at the entrance of Passage One, Xie Chen and Chen Chu stood shoulder to shoulder on the rooftop of the base's main tower, gazing ahead.

Before the spinning silver vortex, a massive black train, ten thousand meters long, was slowly rolling in. It had no carriages, just a bare frame dragging behind it a series of missile-like objects resembling intercontinental warheads.

Each of those missile-like objects measured five hundred meters in length and more than forty meters in diameter, their surfaces covered in rune arrays that resembled sealing patterns. In Chen Chu's senses, the interior of each massive warhead resembled a black hole, silently radiating an ominous energy.

Xie Chen said with awe, "This is the first batch of apocalyptic nuclear bombs, just freshly assembled. The dark matter inside is normally sealed in orbit. This material is highly unusual. If it leaked here, even for a moment, it would trigger a catastrophe, possibly destroying the ecosystem or rupturing the structure of heaven and earth."

Chen Chu sighed with a hint of regret. "It's a pity I don't have time. Otherwise, I'd love to head into deep space and watch that heavenly king capture these dark particles."

He truly was curious about dark matter, as well as the outer reaches of this universe. Even before the Blue Planet had linked to the mythical world, it had already once brimmed with dense transcendent energy, fostering a flourishing cultivation era and even producing seven civilization emperors.

That alone proved how unique the solar system and this part of the universe truly was. In the mythical world, a titan's territory spanned over a hundred thousand kilometers, with a total area dozens of times larger than the Blue Planet. The ancient colossal beasts claimed even vaster domains. Only in such vast territories could the energy sustain their continued growth.

Yet even those ancient titans were only equivalent to the stronger kings of the Ancient Civilization, far beneath civilization emperors, who rivaled true spirits. So how could a small Blue Planet possibly support such a being?

Unfortunately, too many matters demanded attention now. There was no time to study the solar system or what lay beyond, such as whether life existed in the neighboring galaxy.

As a primordial demon god, even without replenishing transcendent energy from the universe, Chen Chu could cross the stars. With twisted space-jumps, not even the hundred-billion-kilometer span of the solar system, with Neptune as the boundary, could confine him. It would just take time.

Watching the black train pass through the portal, Chen Chu turned and said, "Xie Chen, I'm heading out now. I'll leave this place in your hands."

Xie Chen smiled faintly. "Don't worry, Chen Chu. I'm always watching over your younger brother, and that girl Ruoyi is constantly keeping an eye on your family."

Chen Chu nodded with a smile. "Thanks for everything, Sir. I came back in such a rush this time, I didn't even have a chance to treat Sister Ruoyi to a meal."

Chen Chu's return this time had indeed been rushed. He hadn't even visited Chen Hu, only circled back briefly to Wujiang City before helping Luo Fei break through to the mythical level. As for his return to the mythical world this time, dealing with Gai was merely incidental. His true goal was to break through to the supreme level.

After a brief word with Xie Chen, Chen Chu made his way to the entrance of Passage One. However, just as he was about to step into it, his footsteps halted, and he turned to look back.

Gazing at the distant fog wall that blotted out the sky, separating the inner world from the Blue Planet's surface, Chen Chu fell momentarily silent.

This time, once he left, he likely wouldn't be able to return for a very long time.

Bang!

The Divine Realm-Binding Jade in his hand shattered. Instantly, a transparent blue energy enveloped him, cutting him off from the outer world. Unlike when he had entered before, the moment the blue energy wrapped around him, it began to tremble violently, expanding and warping. Fortunately, since Chen Chu hadn't yet broken through to the supreme level, the Jade could still barely carry him.

"Good, it didn't break." Chen Chu let out a soft breath, then became a streak of blue light as he shot into the world passage.

Boom!

The silver vortex trembled mightily, radiating waves of brilliant silver light that spread in all directions. The massive amount of energy dyed half of the sky silver.

"Greetings, Lord Divine Might."

As the black-haired youth stepped out from the vortex, every cultivator guarding the passage lowered their heads in deep respect.

Chen Chu gave a slight nod. "No need for formalities."

With that, his figure flickered and vanished. The golden divine tree in the distance, which was now over thirty thousand meters tall, suddenly quivered, scattering golden light across the skies. Within the Eternal Sapling, a pair of brilliant white eyes slowly opened, gazing in the direction where Chen Chu had disappeared.

"Pri... mordial..." The eyes stared blankly at the fading trace for a long while before slowly closing again. The will of the Divine King of Light sank once more into slumber.

Within just a few breaths, Chen Chu had passed through the Expansion Division without pause and continued at astonishing speed deeper into the mythical world. After flying nearly two hundred thousand kilometers in one go, he finally came to a gradual halt. Looking down at the endless plain beneath him, he muttered softly, "This distance should be enough."

He intended to keep his breakthrough to the supreme level a secret. Given his current status, once he advanced, it would shake the entire human race. Worse still, the Purgatory Demon Clan would find out. That would only provoke them to prepare further, serving no benefit. Far better to advance quietly and proceed with his plans unnoticed.

In fact, Chen Chu had always believed he had the potential to be an assassin. His Hidden Divinity power, after advancing due to divine transformation, allowed him to completely suppress his aura and power fluctuations. Beyond that, he could even merge into the void and erase his presence for brief periods. Not putting that skill to use as an assassin felt like a waste.

Currently, war between the human race and the Purgatory Demon Clan had yet to break out again. He had no intention of wasting this window of time.

Once the Destructive Dragon Emperor returned, it would lead the colossal beasts in another expedition. In the meantime, Chen Chu planned to infiltrate the rear of the Purgatory Demon Clan and assassinate several demon gods. He also intended to probe the Ancestral Court where the Purgatory Primordial Ancestor lay dormant and see what intel he could uncover.

Phew!

Exhaling deeply, Chen Chu no longer suppressed his cultivation realm.

Boom!

A massive surge of energy erupted from Chen Chu, golden-white radiance blazing from him like the sun. In an instant, tens of thousands of kilometers shook violently. The foundational laws of the land collapsed with a roar, and transcendent energy ran wild, as though a colossal beast had burst into the world.

Above him, endless dark clouds gathered from thin air, forming a vortex that blotted out the heavens. At the center of the vortex, a pitch-black void resembled a massive eye of the Heavenly Dao. It was cold and unfeeling, gazing down upon all living beings.
