Chapter 328: The Ninth Heavenly Realm, Roar of The Beast King, Killing a Level 9 Colossal Beast (I)

In a pure white room, a handsome young man in his twenties, with dazzling golden hair, smiled as he looked at the bald young man who had just sat up from the culture tank.

“Welcome back, my lord Demon King.”

The bald man, however, ignored him and began moving his arms. He then stood up, his face gradually breaking into a wild grin.

“Hahahaha... Not bad, not bad. Though this body is as weak as an insect, I can sense its boundless potential.”

As Kaotoros reveled in the new body that perfectly matched his soul, his smile grew even more smug.

Both the human race and that Akunus fellow must have thought I had perished. After all, I had even self-destructed my divine soul to create a dramatic fall. Who could have anticipated that I had prepared a reincarnation ritual with this body long ago?

Once its divine soul dissipated, a remnant of its soul essence would be reborn through this body through the ritual, becoming a true "human.”

As long as its soul essence fully integrated with this soulless body, even the strongest human king would be unable to discern its true nature.

However, this body was too weak and powerless. To increase its strength, it would need to cultivate afresh, though that also came with advantages. It could infiltrate the human ranks and gather crucial intelligence while studying their cultivation and power system.

Unfortunately, it had failed to kill Chu Batian in the end.

That human genius was terrifying—his soul strength was over ten times that of cultivators of the same rank, and he possessed innate divine patterns, just like their Demonic Battle Body.

His cultivation talent was even more remarkable. In just seventeen engravings, his life engraving wheel had grown to the middle-stage of the Sixth Demonic Mark and reached the peak of the Seventh.

Such potential needed to be eliminated; otherwise, once he grew, the humans would gain another king-level powerhouse.

For now, however, he was weak and could only find a way to relay this information back, so other demon kings could take over.

The "death" this time was actually an accident. At that moment, he hadn't decided whether or not to "die,” given the high cost—his avatar's divine soul would weaken, leaving only a sliver of soul essence and memory imprint for reincarnation, with only a thirty percent chance of success.

At that point, however, he couldn’t pass up the opportunity to kill that terrifyingly talented human freak, and simply went with the flow.

As Kaotoros pondered, the golden-haired youth smiled and said, “Lord Kaotoros, how does this body feel? Is it suitable?”

Kaotoros snapped out of his thoughts, his gaze proud. He nodded faintly. “It’s acceptable, though a bit weak. Have you prepared the human cultivation arts and resources I asked for?”

The golden-haired youth nodded. “Rest assured, I have prepared all the resources needed for you to cultivate to the Sixth Heavenly Realm. They will allow you to regain some strength in a short time.”

Kaotoros nodded again in satisfaction. “Good. Once I recover to the Sixth Demonic Mark, I will be able to contact my main body. At that time, I will address your requests.”

The golden-haired youth bowed slightly. “It is my honor to serve. Lord Demon King, I will need your cooperation with some medical checks to assess the integration. If there are any issues, they will be adjusted promptly to avoid affecting your recovery.”

“Understood.” Kaotoros didn’t refuse, having immense trust in this human.

The person in question, named Bredos, was the fifth heir of the Bredora Group, one of the top ten corporate groups in the North Lin Empire. Due to his background, Bredos had always been ostracized by his family members, and he lacked cultivation talent, with only average strength.

He harbored deep hatred for both his family and humanity due to his past experiences. He was also obsessed with biological research, with the ultimate goal of altering his own genes to become stronger.

Over the years, Bredos had maintained cooperation with the Demon God Cult, often helping its cultists evade Federation pursuers. In exchange, he hoped to obtain the essence of a demon-king-level powerhouse to transform his genes into those of the Purgatory Demon Clan.

With his assistance, the number of cultists had gradually grown from a few to hundreds. One of the most powerful bishops had even broken through to the Seventh Demonic Mark after years of resource support.

Originally, this bishop had been the target for Kaotoros' possession. However, they had been lured by an invitation from the Blood Cult and had gone to participate in the Alliance of Cults' rebellion in Kyrola. The Demon God Cult’s main forces, painstakingly developed over the years, followed only to be suppressed and wiped out.

As for Kaotoros, he wasn’t one to easily trust humans. His willingness to cooperate with Bredo on the reincarnation plan was the result of years of cautious probing before he came to fully trust him.

With that trust and the success of the plan, Kaotoros had no reason to refuse Bredos’ request, though he planned to address it after infiltrating the human ranks.

“Vital signs are normal.

“Vital organ functions are normal.

“Electroencephalogram[1] values recorded. Blood purity unchanged. Biological tissue inspection...”

Kaotoros underwent over twenty tests; once all of the data was compiled, however, Bredos frowned.

The soul avatar’s gaze turned cold as it asked, “Is there a problem?”

With some regret, Bredos said, “Aside from cell division and repair, everything else is fine. The vital signs are stable.”

“Cell division and repair, what is that?” Kaotoros furrowed his brows. The Purgatory Clan was a purely cultivation-based civilization, with no concept of technology. Even he was unfamiliar with these terms, despite being a demon king.

Bredos explained, “Cells are the fundamental building blocks of the human body, constantly dividing, repairing, and completing metabolism.

“However, from these tests, I found that your body’s division rate is ten times faster than a normal human’s, and it lacks self-repair capability. At the current rate, this body only has a lifespan of three years before its genes will disintegrate.”

“Three years? Didn’t you guarantee there would be no issues?” Kaotoros’s eyes turned icy.

“Sorry, Lord Demon King,” Bredos apologized. “It is my mistake. Although I have pushed this body to the limit in all aspects, it seems I have still not cracked life's ultimate secret.

“I originally thought that the limitation in previous research was due to the soul, but even when integrating a king-level soul, the clone’s lifespan has only increased from one year to three.

“In that case, you have no further use, Demon King. Uncle Kai, you may take away this specimen now.”

Bredos’s voice fell, but before the now ordinary Kaotoros could react, the space behind him abruptly twisted.

A middle-aged man in military attire, exuding an ominous aura, appeared out of thin air.

In the evening, Chen Chu received an additional reward from the authorities. He hadn’t received any materials, but having slain a king-level avatar, which was equivalent to killing a level 7 mutated beast, he was still awarded 2,000 contribution points.

Subtracting the 1,000-plus points he owed, he still had 214 remaining.

Chen Chu was somewhat surprised by this, as the official payment for the mission had already been made: two top-level secret scriptures, valued at 20,000 points.

After dinner, Chen Chu stood on the balcony of Yan Ruoyi’s suite, which overlooked a bustling city that differed from the East Xia style.

The demon king avatar had fallen, but a more cunning entity, Akunus the Blood God, remained hidden in the shadows. As an evil god of human origin, this being understood human civilization and habits better.

In the recent battle, both he and Li Daoyi had revealed their full strength, including the presence of an Eighth Heavenly Realm powerhouse in the rear, coupled with Kaotoros’s fall.

Akunus would become even more cautious after this. In fact, the more cautious he was, the more advantageous it was for Chen Chu.

The longer the delay, the more beneficial it would be for him as he continuously improved. By the time Akunus took action, Chen Chu could be able to fight at the Eighth Heavenly Realm.

Or perhaps, even without waiting to break through to the Seventh Realm, once the Thunder Fiery Emperor Beast grew to level 9, the enhanced physique from its feedback could allow him to contend with the Eighth.

At that point, it would truly be a matter of sheer strength! With this thought, Chen Chu's consciousness sank into the depths of the sea.

There, the Silver Colossal Dragon slowly opened its eyes, only to find a fearsome black-red colossal beast staring at it. It instinctively took a couple of steps back.

Roar! Batian, why are you looking at me like that?

The Emperor Beast’s mouth curled into a sinister smile as it growled. Roar! It’s nothing.

Roar! Really? The Silver Dragon was somewhat wary. By now, it was familiar with the Thunder Fiery Emperor Beast’s demeanor. It had seen this expression before, when the Thunder Beast had tried to view its innate spatial rune, and now it seemed to be focused on something else.

With this in mind, the Silver Dragon instinctively covered the reverse scale on its neck and growled. Roar! There’s only a bit of my food left. I can’t give it to you.

As a noble and sacred dragon, it had little interest in the flesh of mutated creatures, instead preferring to consume natural treasures rich in elemental energy. Since it had snuck out, however, it had brought only a limited amount of valuable items, just enough to sustain its daily needs.

Roar! Do I look like a dragon that wants to trick you into giving away good things? The Thunder Beast was taken aback at how it was being misunderstood as a deceitful creature.

The Silver Dragon growled. Roar! Then why are you staring at me?

The Thunder Beast growled back. Roar! It’s nothing major. I’ve recently developed an interest in wind-based powers and wanted to see your hurricane primal power.

Roar! Hurricane primal power? That’s... quite exhausting, and you won’t see much from it. The Silver Dragon hesitated.
