Chapter 151: Chapter 151

"Received. Task is being established..."

After setting up the task, J.A.R.V.I.S. reported to Tony, "Sir, upon inspection, Mark IV has sustained damage exceeding 38.72%. The left-hand weapon system, sensor system, and energy conduction circuits, among other areas, have been compromised. The suit can no longer endure high-intensity combat. I strongly recommend you retreat from the battlefield and stay away from those two dangerous entities."

Retreat from the battlefield.

Wouldn't that make him a deserter?

That was absolutely unacceptable.

Although Tony was in a rather sorry state right now, he had no intention of leaving in disgrace.

Otherwise, this moment would become a permanent stain on his reputation.

"No need to retreat. J.A.R.V.I.S., keep monitoring the battle and calculate the best opportunity to strike. I brought several high-powered little darlings for this occasion! If I don't teach that guy a lesson, where would my pride go?"

If he hadn't been caught off guard by Abomination's sudden outburst, Tony wouldn't have ended up in such a miserable state.

With Mark IV's superior mobility and the specially-equipped weapons this time, as long as he avoided close combat with those two monsters, Tony was confident he could hold his own, maybe even teach them a lesson.

At the very least, he wouldn't have lost this badly.

However...

Tony was unaware that his brutal beating at the hands of Abomination had been witnessed by certain interested parties, sparking new waves of trouble.

...

Inside S.H.I.E.L.D.

Upon learning of the massive crisis unfolding in New York, Nick Fury immediately ordered all S.H.I.E.L.D. agents stationed in the city to assemble and rush to Harlem.

Meanwhile, he himself closely monitored the battle in Harlem through various live feeds.

From the footage coming in, Fury had already upgraded the threat level of both the Hulk and Abomination to the highest classification.

Initially, he thought he had already overestimated their strength.

But after witnessing Tony Stark's war-machine-like armor being slammed into the ground and beaten mercilessly by Abomination, Fury realized he had still underestimated those two giants.

This made him extremely wary of them. At the same time, he couldn't help but grow increasingly intrigued by the variant Super Soldier Serum that General Ross had developed.

The fact that this serum had created such formidable creatures left no doubt about its potential.

Although, from the current situation, the project seemed to have serious flaws—otherwise, those two test subjects wouldn't have lost control, causing such a catastrophic disaster.

Still, that didn't change the fact that the serum's power was undeniable.

With such monsters possessing near-invulnerable defenses and terrifying destructive capabilities...

If they were unleashed on the battlefield, they would become an overwhelming force against any enemy.

Since obtaining Stark's advanced, highly mobile battle armor was currently out of reach, perhaps it was time to shift focus.

Maybe S.H.I.E.L.D. could acquire the variant Super Soldier Serum from General Ross.

Fury wasn't the only one thinking this way.

The FBI, Hydra, and various other organizations, after witnessing the havoc wreaked by those two monsters, had also quietly set their sights on Ross's research.

However...

What none of them would ever know was that the emergence of Hulk and Abomination was nothing more than an accident—Ross didn't actually have the serum they all desired.

...

Elsewhere

While Hulk and Abomination clashed once more...

Joker Eren and Bucky slipped into a nearby alley.

Watching the intense battle from a distance, a glimmer of shock and anticipation flickered in Bucky's eyes.

Meanwhile, the Joker began calling upon his true self.

If he remembered correctly...

Although Abomination had initially overpowered Hulk, as his rage grew, Hulk's strength increased exponentially, and he eventually defeated Abomination.

Yes.

Defeated—but not killed.

The Joker wasn't interested in why Hulk chose not to kill Abomination. What mattered to him now was how he could secure the final kill.

As one of the most powerful villains to appear early in the Marvel universe, the Joker had no doubt that Abomination carried a massive amount of Fate Energy.

If he could land the finishing blow, he would undoubtedly receive an abundance of Fate Points.

And beyond the Fate Points...

Abomination's body itself was a highly valuable supernatural asset.

If his true body had already advanced to Sequence 5 as a Puppet Master, then transforming Abomination into a puppet would make him an unparalleled tank and enforcer.

Even if he couldn't convert Abomination into a puppet, merely placing his corpse on the Scales of Fate would allow the Joker to exchange it for something highly valuable.

In reality...

His true body had already set out for Harlem the moment he saw Abomination on TV.

...

Back in Harlem

As the battle in Harlem raged on, the entire street where Hulk and Abomination fought had turned into a meat grinder.

Pedestrians in nearby stores, drivers on the road, and even those who failed to evacuate in time—anyone unlucky enough to be nearby was caught in the carnage.

Even without directly attacking civilians, the debris scattered from their battle was deadly enough.

Flying rubble alone was lethal to ordinary humans.

And those unfortunate enough to be caught in the crossfire were reduced to bloody pulp.

In just over ten minutes...

The street was littered with severed limbs, shattered bones, and smaller chunks of flesh. The pavement was soaked in blood, which was slowly being scorched by fires from the wreckage, filling the air with a nauseating, sickly-sweet stench.

As the evening breeze carried the smell across the city, those standing outside the battlefield began vomiting uncontrollably.

"Evacuate the civilians! Set up a perimeter! We must contain this battlefield before it spreads any further!"

General Ross, climbing out of a helicopter, barked furiously into his radio, ignoring his own bleeding wounds.

Staring at the gruesome battlefield before him, Ross's face turned a deep shade of red—not just from anger, but also from shame and guilt.

The devastation in Harlem made it abundantly clear just how severe this disaster was.

Even if they managed to contain the situation, Ross knew he would likely face a military tribunal.

In the worst case...

As Ross barked orders, the military swiftly mobilized. Armored vehicles were deployed to block both ends of the street, forming a barrier of relentless gunfire to stall the two behemoths.

Individually, bullets were ineffective against Hulk and Abomination.

But when concentrated into a storm of metal, even these monsters felt the pain.

Abomination, in particular, winced at the barrage.

"Mongrels!"

With a snarl, Abomination grabbed a nearby car and hurled it, demolishing an armored vehicle. Just as he prepared to charge forward to destroy the rest of them...

Tony Stark, positioned several hundred meters away, locked onto his target and fired a Stinger missile.

"Whoosh!"

A missile streaked from Mark IV's shoulder, shattering the sound barrier as it sped toward its target.

"Hmph!"

Catching sight of the incoming projectile, Abomination scoffed in disdain.

With his massive hand, he reached out and grabbed the missile mid-air.

"Looks like someone's not too bright."

Tony smirked.

"Boom!"

Before Abomination could throw it away, the missile exploded in his grasp, engulfing him in a massive fireball.

A secondary silver projectile burst from within, embedding itself deep into his chest.

Tony smirked.

"Perfect shot!"

A deafening roar of pain erupted from the battlefield—this time, filled with undeniable agony.

As the flames dissipated, Abomination's scorched body came into view.

A deep wound in his chest dripped yellow-green blood.

He had been wounded.

The sight sent a surge of morale through the soldiers.

Even monsters like Abomination could bleed.

Realizing this, an officer shouted, "General! I request permission to deploy heavy missiles against those creatures!"

Ross's expression darkened.

"Are you insane? Firing missiles at New York? Do you have a death wish?"

Hearing this, the officer turned pale, realizing his own foolishness.

If General Ross had actually listened to his subordinate's suggestion and launched missiles at those two monsters, even if it did succeed in killing them, he himself would be finished.

Not only would he face a military tribunal and likely be sentenced to death, but he might also carry the stigma of his actions for the rest of his life, bringing disgrace upon his family.

Realizing this, the officer instinctively shrank his neck.

Idiot!

Ross shot a furious glare at his subordinate before shifting his gaze toward Tony Stark in the distance.

Although his officer's words were utterly foolish, they did give him an idea.

Abomination had been wounded by one of Tony Stark's miniature missiles. If Stark's weapons could injure him, why should Ross look elsewhere?

At that moment, as Ross focused on Tony Stark...

Abomination stared at his own chest in disbelief.

"I... actually got hurt?"

Up until now, his defenses had remained unbroken. This was the first time in the battle that he had sustained a true injury.

Feeling the searing pain radiating from the wound, a surge of uncontrollable fury erupted within him.

"You little insect... you're dead!"

With a furious roar, Abomination charged toward Tony Stark like a rampaging beast.

Seeing Abomination rushing at him, Tony's expression changed.

Flames burst from the palm of his right hand and the sole of his left foot—two of the few functional energy conduits left in his damaged armor—propelling him into the air.

However, due to the extensive damage to his suit, his takeoff speed was noticeably slower.

Fortunately, just as Abomination leaped, ready to strike Tony down midair—

A green figure shot upward as well.

"Boom!"

With a thunderous impact, Hulk collided with Abomination, sending both of them hurtling away.

"Nice timing..."

Although Tony still held some resentment toward the big green guy for knocking him away earlier, this timely rescue made him breathe a sigh of relief.
