My Wives Are Seven Beautiful Demonesses

Chapter 57: Chapter No.57 Farewells & Kisses

[Location: Central Park, New York]

The curtain keeping the battle away from the real world burst as Artemis released the spell or whatever divine thingy was that.

"COWARD! STUPID OLD MUTT! I WILL TEAR YOU APART—"

"Zera~ calm down and come here," I said as I motioned for her to approach, my voice steady, almost casual, though the air around us still crackled with lingering hostility from her outburst.

Zeraphira froze for a second, her scarlet eyes burning with murderous intent, but then her gaze shifted toward me. The violent storm swirling around her form—her aura, that raw bloodlust—shivered, then bent, like a raging tide retreating before the moon's pull. Her lips parted, still trembling with the desire to scream obscenities at Artemis, but when I beckoned her, her entire frame quivered like a hound forced to heel.

"B-But…" she began, her fangs bared, voice breaking, "he insulted you, my love. He dared to insult you! How can I possibly—"

"Zera." My tone sharpened, firm enough to cut through her frenzy. "Enough. Come here."

Her throat bobbed, her entire body stiffening, before she let out a choked growl and stomped forward. Each step carried sparks of rage, but her eyes never left mine. The closer she drew, the more her fury melted, reshaping into something else entirely—yearning. By the time she reached me, her lips trembled, and her hands clenched and unclenched like a beast fighting its instincts.

She collapsed against me, her face burying into my chest. "I… I hate them," she whispered through clenched teeth, her voice muffled. "Anyone who looks at you like prey, anyone who thinks they can touch what's mine… I'll rip them apart."

I sighed and lifted my hand, brushing her silky crimson hair with deliberate calmness. "I know, Zera. But you don't need to prove anything right now. Not to me."

Her nails dug lightly into my shirt, not enough to hurt, but enough that I felt the tension boiling in her veins. Still, she pressed closer, her breathing slowing as my touch smoothed her frenzy. For all her fire, for all her wrath, this fiancée of mine melted like molten metal under the cool weight of my voice.

"Let's go home, I'm sleepy after all the action today," I said and walked towards the exit gate, only to stop.

"Artemis, what about you?"

"Me? I-I'm going back to Olympus, I've to report today's events. Ares has crossed many lines. I will see to it that he's held accountable," Artemis finished, her silvery gaze softening for a heartbeat as it lingered on me. Her divine presence dimmed, like moonlight behind a veil of clouds. "Today… I owe you more than I can say. You and your fiancée both."

Zeraphira's head snapped up from my chest, scarlet eyes narrowing. "Don't look at him like that," she hissed, her voice dripping venom. "He's mine."

Artemis stiffened but didn't respond. The tension between the two could have split stone, but I wasn't in the mood for another fight. Not tonight.

"Enough," I murmured, letting the word hang heavy in the air. It wasn't loud, but both of them froze. The curtain barrier around the park flickered, faint shreds of its magic dissolving into glittering motes above us, like the stars themselves were falling apart. The real New York sky peeked through—chill autumn air, the faint smell of wet leaves, sirens somewhere far away.

Zeraphira's claws retracted slowly, her jaw trembling. She exhaled, pressing herself closer against me, almost like she wanted to disappear into my coat. "I'll let her go this time," she whispered, though her eyes still glowed faintly. "Only because you told me."

Artemis inclined her head stiffly, still keeping her distance. "Then I'll take my leave," she said, her voice regaining its divine steel. "But Dominic… beware. The threads are already moving. Ares isn't the only one who's noticed you."

I didn't answer her. Just watched as she raised two fingers to her temple, calling down a pillar of moonlight. It enveloped her completely, and in a blink, she was gone—no sound, no trace, just the echo of her presence.

Silence settled over the park. The kind of silence that feels like an aftershock, the world waiting for the next blow.

Zeraphira tilted her head back to look at me, her expression shifting from fury to something softer, almost shy. "You're not mad at me?" she asked quietly, her voice stripped of its usual hiss. "For losing control? For… embarrassing you?"

I brushed a thumb across her cheek, feeling the heat of her skin even through my glove. "No, Zera. You protected me. That's all."

Her eyes widened slightly, her lips parting. For a second, she looked like she didn't know what to do with herself. Then she surged upward, hands clutching my coat, and kissed me.

It wasn't a soft kiss. It was desperate, raw, almost like she was trying to brand me, to make me remember who she was. Her lips trembled against mine, and her breath came in shallow bursts. I didn't push her away.

When she finally pulled back, her forehead rested against mine, eyes fluttering shut. "Don't leave me," she whispered. "Not like before."

"I'm not going anywhere," I said quietly. "Not tonight."

Her fingers tightened around my sleeve, as if she didn't believe me but wanted to. The remnants of her aura faded completely, leaving only the faint scent of ash and roses around her.

"Come on," I said after a moment, my tone soft but firm. "We're leaving."

She nodded, wordless, and slipped her hand into mine. Together, we walked toward the park's exit. The curtain of magic parted for us like a dark sea, revealing the faint glow of city lights beyond.

Behind us, Central Park stood silent—no sign of the chaos, no divine presence, no blood or scars from the battle. Only fallen leaves and the distant sound of water lapping at the edge of the lake. A perfect, untouched picture. Like none of it had ever happened.

But as we stepped through the boundary, I felt it: a ripple in the air, faint but unmistakable. The aftertaste of power, of eyes watching from beyond.

I tightened my grip on Zeraphira's hand. She squeezed back, a small, satisfied smile curling at her lips as if she'd sensed it too.

Whatever was coming, the night wasn't over.

[Location: Morningstar Manor, New York]

"So, this is where you were staying for the whole week. I can see why I couldn't find you earlier; these wards are more powerful than even those used at the ones in Wrath's Palace... Darling~ I'm gonna stay with you from now on, can I?"

Puppy dog eyes instantly activated!

"Like you'd even need to ask," I said, shaking my head with a half-smile. "You're already here, aren't you?"

Zeraphira's grin widened instantly, the mock pout vanishing as her scarlet eyes gleamed. She leaned closer, her breath warm against my ear. "Then it's settled. I'm not leaving your side, not for a second."

"Figures," I muttered, though I didn't push her away.

She slipped her arms around me possessively, pressing against my chest as if daring the manor itself to challenge her claim. "This house feels too big, too empty. But with me here…" Her lips brushed my collarbone, lingering. "…it'll never feel lonely again."

I let out a slow breath. "As long as you don't burn it down out of jealousy."

Her eyes sparkled mischievously. "No promises, darling. Depends who dares to look at you."

I pinched the bridge of my nose, but the corner of my mouth tugged upward. "…Welcome home, Zera."

Her entire face lit up at those words, and before I could react, she captured my lips again, softer this time—yet every bit as consuming.

"Anyway, where is Grayfia? I didn't see her with you, and I can't sense her in there. I thought she was always glued to your side," Zeraphira finished, her head tilting slightly as she studied my face. Her scarlet eyes narrowed. "Don't tell me she abandoned you after all that loyalty she bragged about."

I shook my head, my voice even. "No. She's in the Hell Realm right now, handling matters only she can. She'll be back when the time is right."

Zeraphira clicked her tongue, dissatisfied. "Hmph. Hell Realm or not, she should know her place. To not leave you alone like that." Her arms wound tighter around me, claws brushing lightly against my back through the fabric. "But fine. I'll keep you company until she crawls back."

Her lips curved into a smirk, though her eyes carried a storm. "And when she does… she'll learn who you belong to."

I exhaled slowly, neither agreeing nor denying. "Zera."

"Mm?"

"Don't start a war in my home."

Her pout returned instantly, exaggerated and dripping with faux innocence. "What, me? Never~" She leaned up again, stealing another kiss, this one lingering longer than the last. When she finally pulled back, her lips curved into something softer, almost vulnerable. "As long as I'm by your side, I don't care about anything else."

I brushed my fingers through her crimson hair, steady and unhurried. "Then stay. Just… behave."

Zeraphira's grin sharpened again, though the faint blush dusting her cheeks betrayed her mood. "For you, darling… I'll try."

"Not try, you will because she is your sister-in-arms now~"

"What do you mean—AH! NO SHE DIDN'T!"

"Yes, she did, and it was mutual, so don't even think about messing with her loyalty, Zera," I cut in before her temper could boil again. "Grayfia made her choice. She's been with me longer than you can imagine. If you can't accept her, then you're rejecting a part of me."

Her jaw snapped shut, fangs glinting as she froze mid-protest. For a heartbeat, her crimson eyes flickered between rage and pain, like a wildfire doused with ice water.

Then she bit her lip, hard enough to draw a thin bead of blood. "…Tch. Fine. I don't like it, but… if it's for you, I'll hold back."

"That's all I'm asking."

She huffed, turning her face away with a mock scowl, though her arms refused to loosen around me. "Don't think I'll play nice forever, darling. The moment she forgets her place, I'll remind her."

"Zera."

"Okay, okay!" She groaned, then peeked back at me through her lashes, cheeks tinged scarlet. "You always know how to make me bend, you bastard."

I smirked faintly. "That's because you're terrible at hiding what you actually want."

Her pout deepened for a moment before she leaned up and stole another kiss, quick and hot. "What I want… is you. All of you. Even if it means sharing." Her voice dropped to a whisper, trembling with reluctant honesty. "But I will definitely be the second. Let's go, we're consummating our marriage. I will become your wife from fiancée, then I will be the first wife—"

…Her words hung in the air, heavy and raw, laced with that fierce desperation only Zera could wield. She was trembling—not from fear, but from the sheer intensity of her resolve.

I met her gaze, those scarlet eyes shimmering with equal parts defiance and vulnerability, and for a moment, silence stretched between us.

"…Zera," I spoke her name softly, yet firmly enough that she stilled, her claws frozen against my chest.

Her breath hitched. "Don't… don't tell me no," she whispered, her voice cracking, betraying the storm underneath her bravado. "I've waited too long. Too many nights imagining what it'd be like to finally—"

I brushed my thumb across her lips, silencing her. Her trembling halted as her gaze locked onto mine.

"You don't need to prove anything by rushing," I said evenly. "You're already mine."

Her lips quivered against my touch, her eyes widening as if those words unravelled every defence she tried to cling to. "…Yours…" she repeated, almost dazed. Then, like a flame reignited, her arms tightened around me, her voice breaking into a half-laugh, half-sob. "Then don't blame me if I devour you, darling. Because I won't stop."

Her kiss crashed against me again, searing, claiming, desperate. This time, I didn't resist.

And as the night drew deeper around Morningstar Manor, the wards shivered faintly—not from intruders, but from the fierce, overwhelming will of a yandere fiancée who refused to let go.

The battles outside could wait. Tonight, it was Zera's war to win.
