My Wife Is A Secret Assassin

"Why are you doing this? Isn't this too big a risk?" Samantha tried to understand his perspective.

"This mission is that important for me. I can go to any extent for it. I will even let you take advantage of me like this as I have no other way to succeed in it but have to take your help."

"Why me?" She asked him the most important question she had.

"You work in the same organization as the person I am looking for and I am not sure who is the assassin I am searching for as I have no information on him except for the fact that he works in your organization. There are many assassins who work there and I don't know who exactly I am looking for. But I got to know you are not that person, so I have no other choice but to contact you." He truly explained.

When David and Chance tried to find out the assassin who killed Lucas, they couldn't get any solid information on him. They only knew two things about that person: One, which organization he is working for and two, he is a male.

Chance knew Danger-Ace works for the same organization as that one and so did The Exterminator but he knew Danger-Ace was a woman so he knew she was not the target he was looking for. 

Since, The Exterminator was a man, Chance did not rule him out and was suspicious about him too. 

But he knew it was not him and yet he was not ready to take that risk and decided to contact Danger-Ace for his mission, mission-L, mission-Lucas.

After knowing Danger-Ace and The Exterminator could be related, Chance indeed got worried but he knew The Exterminator would never kill someone so shamelessly like the assassin who killed Lucas.

It was the most humiliating method that was used and The Exterminator would never fall this low to kill Lucas.

So, he was sure he is not the one involved and after meeting Samantha in Hawaii, he got a hold on her personality and realized he chose the perfect person for Lucas' mission.

"I need some time before making a decision" Samantha told him after thinking about it for some time.

Chance expected this and was not surprised rather he was happy as this meant she was considering his offer, which was a positive sign for him.

"Sure, take your time, I'll wait for your call. Whatever your decision is, please let me know"

Samantha was surprised Grim Reaper suddenly turned so polite, "Fine, I'll call you around the same time whenever I make my decision" 

"Thank you"

Chance was glad with how things proceeded and he continued doing his office work.

As soon as she was done talking to the Grim Reaper, Samantha called her dad.

She knew he would be sleeping but the conversation she had with the Grim Reaper was more important than anything else and she had to inform Bill of what just happened.

Bill answered his phone after a few rings, as he was sleeping but when he saw it was the secret phone ringing, he immediately answered it.

"Yes?"

"Dad, this is very important" Samantha seriously informed him.

"What happened?"

Samantha then informed him of what Grim Reaper told her.

Bill frowned when he heard what happened.

"Good you asked him for some time"

"How could I not? If he really knows where Excalibur is…"

"He knows, Grim Reaper wouldn't take the risk of lying. Since he made this committment, he will give us all the information, just like he promised and that too before we provide our support to him"

"It was stupid"

"No, it was desperation. He really needs your help"

"What should we do?"

"Let me think"

"Dad"

"Hmm?"

"This organization belongs to you. Are you ready to betray one of your own?"

"Killing Sarah's murderer is the only purpose of my life now" After saying this, Bill cut the call and Samantha too was lost in deep thoughts.

After three days, Samantha contacted Grim Reaper again.

Every night at 2 am, Chance keeps checking his phone to see if Danger-Ace called him or not and when she didn't, he used to go to bed disappointed.

After three days, finally he received the call he was waiting for.

"So, Ms. Ace?"

"I am in" 

Chance had a huge grin on his face.

"I hope it will be great working with you Ms Ace"

"Danger-Ace"

"Okay Ms Danger-Ace"

"Only Danger-Ace" Samantha shouted from the other side.

"Okay Danger-Ace, happy?"

"When will I get information on Excalibur?"

"Within a month"

"If I don't get the information then I am off this deal"

"Don't worry, before thirty days you will have all the information on him"

Samantha didn't talk about anything else and cut the call.

Chance immediately called David who was in a deep sleep.

"David, your phone is ringing" Mia woke him up and once he did, she went back to sleep.

"Hello" David answered his call in a sleepy voice.

"Danger-Ace is in" Chance happily announced.

"What?" David suddenly opened his eyes and sat up.

"She agreed dude" Chance happily announced as this was the most important step for their Mission-L.

"That's amazing but what does she want in exchange for it?"

"Dude, Mia is next to you, be mindful of your words" Chance warned him.

"Don't worry, first answer my question"

"She needs information on Excalibur"

"Hmm, that's not a big deal for us as he used to work in our organization"

"Exactly"

"Good night then, at least have a good sleep tonight"

"I feel tonight I will finally be able to fall asleep" Chance happily exclaimed and went to sleep.

"What were you two talking about?" Mia asked David in a sleepy voice.

"It is about a new office Chance will be setting up"

"Oh" Mia believed him and went back to sleep.

Next day David and Chance met in his office. 

David happily hugged him, "I can't believe she agreed"

"Hmm but at a cost"

"Why is she searching for Excalibur?" David was curious to know.

"Honestly? I have no idea" Chance was honest as he only knew she was searching for him but he had no idea why she was.

"Then you going to dig deeper about it?"

"No, I'll respect her secrecy"

"That's ironical" David taunted him

"Hmm I know, I feel guilty for knowing so much about her. I'll try to not dig more about her past."

David was surprised, "Wow Chance, can't believe this change in you"

Chance just smiled and handed over a file to David.

David casually opened it and was surprised after reading the contents.

"Already?"

"Hmm" Chance nodded his head.

"When?"

"Next week"

David was shocked, "So soon?"

"Yes" 

Chance handed him another paper which read Carol can be transferred to New York branch.

"What? Really?" David was surprised.

"Hmm, she only needs your and my approval. I already signed this sheet. If you too sign this, then Carol can shift here"

"Got it" David signed the paper.

All this time David intentionally didn't sign it as Chance asked him not to.

Chance had no intentions of giving Carol hopes so he avoided her pleas of being transferred to this branch and today he finally gave her the permission.

When Carol received the fax, which accepted her request to be transferred to the New York branch, she was surprised and was happy.

It was written in the sheet that she can start working in the New York branch from the next week.

In this one-week Carol packed whatever she needed to move from Arizona to New York.

As soon as Carol received the confirmation that she can transfer to the new place, she excitedly informed Abigail and Mia of this sudden change and her arrival to New York.

The two women were very excited as they knew how desperate Carol was to shift there.

Mia volunteered to host a welcome party for Carol.

So, as soon as Carol landed in New York, she headed straight to Mia and David's house with her luggage as she intended to stay with them for a week before she finds a place for herself.

When Carol reached Mia's house, she was hoping to see all happy faces welcoming her but when she entered the house what she saw was opposite of what she expected.

Everyone looked like they received some shocking news and the atmosphere was gloomy.

Only David looked calm but others looked like they were going through some turmoil.

"What happened? Why do you all look so upset?" Carol asked them all.

Mia and Abigail looked at each other, wondering how to answer Carol.

Carol looked around the house, her eyes searching for Chance.

He was the main reason she wanted to be in New York, she was hoping to get closer to him by staying near him.

Therefore, she was disappointed not seeing Chance there.

'Maybe he will come after some time' She wishfully thought and looked at the other four people as she was waiting for their answer.
