Chapter 73: Spreading Rumors Again
"The key is with you; just drive it yourself!"
Yan Mingyu finished speaking and proceeded to deal with official business on her laptop.
"Director Yan..."
Qin Yu felt a bit anxious; he had only wanted to borrow a company car for commuting, but she told him to drive her Bentley worth five million.
If he so much as scratched it, he might as well have worked for nothing that year.
"Is there anything else?"
Yan Mingyu's tone was somewhat unfriendly.
These days, her mood had not been good, inexplicably prone to anger. Seeing Qin Yu hemming and hawing, her pretty face tensed up.
Hadn't she already lent him the car?
Could it be that he also wanted to borrow "someone"?
To "lend" herself to him, to help him make an impression, to attend gatherings together?
Perhaps in the past, Yan Mingyu might have agreed. But ever since that night, after seeing Qin Yu's "girlfriend" so pure and pretty on the phone, she felt that she should keep a certain distance from Qin Yu in private.
She was married, and he had a girlfriend. Being too close would have a negative impact on both of them if word got out.
"Er..."
Qin Yu had no idea that Yan Mingyu had imagined so much in those few seconds.
He scratched his head before saying, "Your car is too expensive; I wouldn't dare to drive it outside of work. I just thought a commuting car would suffice."
"Just drive it; if there's a problem, the company will reimburse you!"
Yan Mingyu authoritatively finished speaking and glared, "Any other questions?"
"No... no more!"
Qin Yu shook his head, refusing to monopolize more of Yan Mingyu's time for his personal matters.
After closing the door behind him, he sat at his desk, turned on his computer, and started browsing the news.
In fact, his job was quite leisurely; as long as Yan Mingyu didn't leave the company, he basically had nothing to do.
Drinking tea, playing on the computer, reading newspapers, and nobody bothered him.
Because from the start, he was Yan Mingyu's personal assistant and only needed to be responsible for her.
Now that he had been promoted to security aide, he was second only to her, above thousands others.
"Assistant Qin, would you like some coffee?"
Yang Min, who sat across from him at the desk, stood up with instant coffee and a cup in her hand.
After Su Meng resigned, she took Su Meng's place and was now an "S" level employee, but her status and treatment were still far behind Qin Yu's.
After all, everything that Qin Yu had earned was achieved by risking his life.
"I'll have one. Thank you!"
Qin Yu nodded and said.
"Don't mention it!"
Yang Min smiled faintly.
Then she walked over to the water dispenser to make the coffee.
Today she was dressed in a white shirt, a gray pencil skirt, and high heels.
The standard office attire.
However, perhaps due to her age, Yang Min exuded a maturity that even Yan Mingyu didn't have.
As she leaned slightly forward, her full curves were unmistakably displayed.
As a security assistant, Qin Yu had significant authority. He had gone over Yang Min's file when she was transferred.
Thirty-two years old.
In the workplace, this was actually considered "old," with not much advantage. But her willingness to work hard, attentive, and considerate nature had earned Yan Mingyu's appreciation.
And, the marital status column read single.
It was puzzling why people these days were so reluctant to marry!
Qin Yu subconsciously glanced at Yang Min, her curvaceous and sexy figure making his heart skip a beat.
However, he soon looked away.
A man's first look at a woman is instinct; the second is a matter of quality.
"Assistant Qin, your coffee!"
Yang Min came over with the coffee.
Her white shirt was slightly open, revealing a line of fair cleavage.
"Thank you!"
Qin Yu stood up and took the coffee.
"Assistant Qin, you're too polite!"
Yang Min smiled softly, then brewed herself another cup of coffee.
"Hmm... who's talking bad about President Yan?"
Qin Yu took a sip of his coffee, scrolled the mouse, and clicked open the browser; the top trending post was actually titled "The meticulously fabricated scam by the female boss of Four Seas Corporation, how much longer can it last?"
After clicking into it subconsciously, Qin Yu began to read the full article.
First, the article listed the "crimes" Yan Mingyu had committed since taking over Four Seas Corporation: driving her mother out of the company, kicking out veterans of the company, acting arbitrarily, and even having illegitimate relationships, including ambiguous interactions with her bodyguard.
Of course, everyone inside the company understood the ins and outs of these matters, and no matter how the article spun them, it couldn't shake the foundation of Four Seas Corporation.
Qin Yu was starting to find it amusing that the author was using such hearsay to garner attention when suddenly, they dropped a "bombshell."
Yan Mingyu wasn't a real member of the Yan Family at all, and attached was a medical report from ten years ago belonging to her father, Yan Changhe.
His blood type was "A".
Another medical report, this one belonging to Yan Mingyu, showed her blood type was "O".
Anyone with a bit of medical knowledge knows that it's impossible for a child of an "A" blood type parent to be "O".
"Probably just another rumor!"
Qin Yu didn't take it to heart and simply continued scrolling down.
"Damn..."
Qin Yu blinked his eyes in shock at the series of car accident photos that followed.
A man, bearing a slight resemblance to Old Man Yang, was covered in blood, and the beautiful woman he was holding in his arms was none other than Yan Mingyu.
Find adventures at empire
What's more, they were both disheveled.
The post claimed: Perhaps it's beyond everyone's imagination that the woman Yan Changhe was secretly meeting on the night of the former president's car accident was none other than his daughter, at least nominally?
It has to be said, the Yan Family is truly a mess!
Otherwise, how could Yan Mingyu, supposedly adopted by Yan Changhe from an early age, get her hands on the trillion-yuan Four Seas Corporation?
What a play!
A little girl grooming plan!
...
Qin Yu didn't want to read any further; his mind was buzzing with noise.
If Yan Mingyu were merely his boss, seeing this post would have been laughable at best.
But she was also his wife!
This photo, it must've been taken several years ago, right?
If it was fabricated, why only expose it now?
How much credibility is there to the contents of this post?
Qin Yu furrowed his brows deeply.
He wanted to push open the door to Yan Mingyu's office to ask what was going on but lacked the courage.
"Bang!"
At that moment, a sound of something being smashed came from Yan Mingyu's office.
Qin Yu immediately stood up but eventually held himself back.
It just proved that Yan Mingyu had seen the post as well.
If he went in now and the post turned out to be true, wouldn't it only anger Yan Mingyu more, causing her to lose face?
The best course of action would be to pretend he hadn't seen the post at all, to look as if he was completely unaware to avoid any awkwardness.
"Assistant Qin!"
Yang Min glanced at Qin Yu, signaling him to check on the boss.
"She didn't call for me!"
Qin Yu shook his head.
"Oh!"
Yang Min cast a doubtful look at Yan Mingyu's office before lowering her head to continue working on her tasks.
"Ring, ring!"
But in the very next second, Qin Yu's desk phone rang; it was Yan Mingyu calling.
"President Yan!"
Qin Yu immediately answered the phone.
"Summon the Information Security department to my office!"
Yan Mingyu's tone was cold as ice.
