Chapter 120: Welcome Newborn and Enemy Moves
A few hours later, "Waaah... waah," a baby girl was born. The doctor handed the baby to Amy to hold and told Dylan there were no complications for the mother or the baby. Dylan, seeing this, immediately kissed the baby, and then he kissed Amy's forehead, which was still pale and sweaty. Amy smiled and looked at the baby in her arms,
"Look, Daddy, Tania is here," Amy said, moving slowly to show Tania to Dylan.
"Welcome to the world, Tania. Daddy is so happy," Dylan said, holding the baby's small, cute hand.
Not long after, Amy, who looked exhausted, gratefully fell asleep. A nurse took Tania to be brought to the nursery in an incubator and allowed Amy to rest; Tania would be brought back to Amy once she woke up for feeding. Dylan immediately took care of all the paperwork while Amy was taken back to the previous room. After that, he saw his baby's name already posted on a bassinet in the nursery, Tania's temporary spot while Amy rested.
Then Dylan called Maya and Ellie, who were already in the room, to go up to the nursery and see Tania. Both of them immediately went upstairs after Amy was returned to the room and the nurses were finished settling the sleeping Amy. When they got upstairs and saw Tania lying in the nursery, Maya and Ellie's faces immediately lit up.
"She's adorable," Maya murmured.
"Yeah, I really want to hold her," Ellie added.
"Her name is Tania," Dylan replied.
"I know. Amy already told us about it—if it was a boy, she'd name him Theodor, and if it was a girl, Tania," Ellie said.
"That's right. Lena actually discussed it with us too, so the names wouldn't clash, but we hadn't told you yet," Maya replied.
"Oh, I see. Thank goodness. I actually don't really get the whole name thing. I tried looking up names, but I just got confused because they all sound great to me," Dylan said.
"Hehe... you really are hopeless, babe," Maya replied, holding onto Dylan's arm.
"After Maya and I give birth too, are you going to start that new company?" Ellie asked.
"Yeah, I talked to Uncle Robert again. Everything is ready and can start operating. I already got a few projects from Uncle George's contacts. I just need to get it going, but maybe at first, since it's just me and my former co-worker, I might not be home much," Dylan replied.
"That's okay. Once the kids are a little older, we can help you," Ellie replied.
"Yeah, exactly. Don't worry, the four of us support you," Maya added.
Dylan immediately put his arms around both of them. They remained silent for a moment, looking at baby Tania, who was about to be placed in the nursery until Amy woke up and finished resting.
"Oh yeah, speaking of which, what names are you two giving our children?" Dylan asked.
"Since the screening said girl, I'm naming mine Abigail, after my grandmother. Everyone agreed, including Carla. I actually asked her opinion on it," Maya replied.
"What about you, Ellie?" Dylan asked.
"I have a couple of options. Since my screening said boy, I have two potential names: Samuel and Steven. Which one do you think is better?" Ellie replied, asking him back.
"Hmm... if you combine it with Morgan, maybe Steven is better, so he can be called Steve, perhaps. It just feels like a better fit," Dylan replied.
"Okay, then our son's name will be Steve," Ellie said cheerfully.
Suddenly, Fiona and Iris arrived with Megan. They immediately looked through the glass and saw Tania sleeping with her mouth moving a little.
"Awww... she's cute," Fiona said.
"Can we go in and hold her?" Iris asked, turning to look at Dylan.
"Later, okay, when she's moved to the room," Dylan replied.
"Okay. Oh, Big Brother Aaron and Clara are in the room keeping Big Sister Amy company while she sleeps, and Big Sister Lena," Fiona said.
"Yeah, they're playing with Caleb," Iris added.
"Oh, they already arrived, too," Dylan said, turning to look at Megan.
"We all came together," Megan replied.
"Hmm... that's good. Let's go back downstairs to the room," Dylan said.
"Iris and I are going to stay here for a bit, okay?" Fiona said.
"Yeah, just a little bit," Iris added.
"Alright, but don't take too long, okay?" Maya said.
"Yes, don't worry, Big Sister Maya," Fiona and Iris replied.
Then Dylan led Maya and Ellie back downstairs. As they passed through the lobby to enter the hallway, suddenly,
"Hey, Dylan!"
Dylan, Maya, and Ellie turned around. All three of their eyes widened when they saw Charles standing in the middle of the lobby among a crowd of people, smirking with sharp eyes staring at Dylan. Dylan immediately turned to face him while Maya and Ellie stood behind him.
"What do you want here?" Dylan asked.
Charles looked at Ellie, then glanced at Ellie's stomach, and his face immediately twisted in anger. Then he looked back at Dylan and Maya, who were also heavily pregnant.
"Huh... so you've been having fun with them, haven't you? You bastard, do you know what you did to me?" Charles asked, furious.
"Oh... that. How does it feel to be disowned by your family and not be the golden boy anymore?" Dylan asked, smirking.
Charles walked closer to Dylan. His eyes looked unfocused and darted towards Ellie and Maya. When he got close, he suddenly aimed a kick towards Maya's stomach, but Dylan was quick, deflecting it, and a holographic shield protected Maya's belly. Dylan immediately punched Charles's chest, making Charles stumble back, holding his chest.
"Hey... what the hell," Dylan demanded.
"Well, well... you hit me, huh? I'll report this to the police, and I'll sue you," Charles sneered.
"Hahaha... go ahead. Both the recording and everyone here can see that you tried to kick a pregnant woman," Dylan said, pointing up.
Charles looked up and saw a surveillance camera above. Then he also saw a crowd of people now staring at them, some even recording the incident. Charles's sneer instantly turned tense. Then some security guards walked towards Charles and Dylan.
"You watch yourself. This isn't over," Charles retorted.
Then he turned and walked away, past the approaching security guards. Two security guards immediately turned and followed Charles out of the lobby, ensuring he wouldn't return. Dylan, Ellie, and Maya stood frozen, staring at Charles's departure.
"He's definitely coming back... and next time he won't be alone," Ellie said.
"Yeah, I know. That's why we have to be ready. I want you to stay at the hospital. I don't want anything happening to you," Dylan replied.
"I understand. We'll secure this hospital," Maya added.
"You two go back to the room first. I'll talk to the nurse to move Tania to the room right away. I won't feel calm if Tania isn't with us," Dylan said.
"Yes, please do," Ellie replied.
Ellie and Maya immediately walked toward the room. Dylan spoke to the nurse to move Tania to the room right away, even though Amy was still unconscious and under the effects of anesthesia. Dylan explained his reason, and fortunately, the nurses understood. Finally, they immediately brought Tania to the room, supervised by Dylan, Fiona, Iris, and Megan, as they had all returned together. Once they were in the room and confirmed everything was safe, Dylan left the room again and walked down the hospital hallway towards the lobby.
"KATS, can you protect this entire hospital?" Dylan asked in his head. [Leave it to me, Master. Ryan, Roger, and Paul are on their way here. They will help secure the hospital.] "Good. So, only Noah is guarding the house?" Dylan asked. [No, Ryan is only coming here to install his devices. After that, he and Noah will secure the house.] "Alright, and please focus on protecting Caleb and Tania for now," Dylan instructed. [Understood. A person like him won't give up on the first try.] "Exactly. As soon as he comes back, we end all of this right here," Dylan said, clenching his fist. [Agreed, Master.]
After that, Dylan sat down casually at the end of the hallway and kept watching the lobby. Outside, the entire hospital building was protected by an invisible, semi-circular dome. Dylan kept staring at the lobby doors where Charles had exited.
"Now I'm ready for you. Come whenever you want. I'll settle everything here, CROWS," Dylan muttered to himself.
Suddenly, someone grabbed Dylan's shoulder. Dylan turned and saw Aaron standing next to him with a pale face. Dylan immediately stood up.
"What's wrong?" Dylan asked.
"Big Sister Maya collapsed in the room! The nurses immediately handled her and took her to the emergency room! Hurry, go there, Big Brother!" Aaron answered.
"Alright, I'm going. Come on, Aaron," Dylan replied.
"Yes, let's go, Big Brother," Aaron replied.
The two immediately ran towards the emergency room together, but Dylan still managed to glance back at the increasingly distant lobby doors a few times. After that, he focused forward, and a sense of dread started to wash over him.
"I hope nothing bad happens to Maya and her baby," Dylan thought anxiously.
