Chapter 107: The Last Item

Two men carried a large wooden chest onto the stage.

When it was opened, it revealed a dark red bone so thick it resembled the trunk of a tree.

"A bone from a High-Level Primordial Beast, at least equivalent to a Magus in the Lord Realm…" Sophia finally revealed what it was.

And that indeed caused a stir among the beast owners.

"Are they actually auctioning off something like this?" someone muttered in disbelief.

"I'm afraid the starting price will be more than one million."

"It's worth it, no matter what. Every part of their body—let alone the bones—can significantly raise the level of a Primordial Beast."

"I once heard of a Tier 10 Primordial Beast that ate a bone like this. It advanced to Tier 39. That's simply astonishing."

"Paying one million is no loss at all. Even if a Primordial Beast consumed one million Nature Spirits, it wouldn't necessarily gain even half the advancement this bone can provide. Not to mention, the waiting time would be far too long."

"Ladies and gentlemen, we'll start at 1.2 million…" Sophia announced in a loud, clear voice.

"Two million!"

Richard immediately raised the price without hesitation.

He had to secure that bone. With tens of millions of Nature Spirits in his possession, why would he care about throwing away two million?

Besides, he had a 25% discount.

The people who had originally intended to bid on the bone instantly fell silent when they heard the price he set.

All eyes turned toward him with curiosity.

Richard could even feel Olivia's and Luca's gazes on him.

"Any higher?" Sophia asked, a faint smile on her lips, clearly satisfied with that bid.

"Once," she continued, still hoping for another offer.

Unfortunately, by the time she said it three times, no one else raised their hand.

"Sold," she declared.

Shortly after, the bone was delivered to Richard, transferred first into a small Storage Artifact.

When the worker brought it over, Richard presented his invitation, startling the man.

The worker then appeared to communicate with Sophia through his Sixth Sense, prompting her to look at Richard again.

Afterward, she gave the worker a nod.

With the 25% discount, Richard only had to pay 1.5 million.

It wasn't that he wanted to pay less, but it was Golden Leaf Auction House's decision to grant him such a generous discount.

The next item turned out to be another weapon—a spear similar to the first. The difference was that this one carried the power of wind.

Luca bid on it again, and this time, he successfully claimed it, leaving the tournament participants pale.

Perhaps wind wasn't compatible with him, but with just the spear's material alone, he had already become far tougher. And he might even trade the spear for one that suited his own element.

"Ladies and gentlemen, today we are auctioning only five items, and this will be the last," Sophia announced once more.

At that, everyone straightened their backs.

Many had no idea what the final item was, so curiosity filled the air.

The Golden Leaf Auction House always auctioned only five to ten items per event, but the last one was always shocking—often even bid on by representatives of kings or senior royals themselves.

At this moment, a beautiful young woman walked onto the stage, carrying two silver discs in her hands, each no larger than her palm.

To Richard, they looked strikingly similar to car hubcaps from Earth, though he knew their function wasn't anything like that.

The crowd scrutinized the discs with uncertain expressions, clearly unable to guess their purpose.

In truth, many artifacts came in disc form, but their uses varied widely.

For now, everyone could only assume these two were extraordinary, given they were the auction's final item.

"I won't explain what these are—I'll show you all directly," Sophia said.

The two discs were then handed to her.

She sent her Aether into one of them, clearly to bind it.

Richard was slightly surprised to see that her Aether was Tier 3.

Her strength definitely wasn't weak. Henry and Layla likely wouldn't even be her match.

Whoosh!

Sophia suddenly threw one of the discs toward the auditorium doors, where it embedded itself into the wall above them—the disc itself sharp enough to pierce stone.

Everyone instinctively turned their eyes toward the disc—then something shocking happened.

Sophia's figure suddenly appeared where the disc was, already holding both of them in her hands.

As if oblivious to the crowd's stunned expressions, she tossed one of the discs back toward the stage.

When it landed there, Sophia reappeared on the stage.

"My God, that's a Teleportation Disc!" someone shouted in awe.

"They're auctioning off Teleportation Discs—don't they want to keep them for themselves?"

"Even if they did, if the auction house's higher-ups decided it must be sold, then it must be sold. This is a principle they cannot violate, since their organization is an auction house."

"Tsk, tsk… how many participants can even bid on this? The starting price alone must be over ten million."

"Only Dukes and their equals could possibly afford it."

"Now you all know what this is," Sophia said calmly.

"Let us begin the bidding. We'll start at ten million, with each increase no less than five hundred thousand."

"Five hundred thousand?"

Most people shook their heads. They couldn't even pay the increment, much less the full price.

"Eleven million!" someone suddenly bid, raising it to eleven million at once.

It was Luca.

Clearly, this was what he had been aiming for. Whether it was for himself or for his father, no one could say.

The crowd's eyes turned toward the representatives of Duke Eastern Star and Duke Ice Mountain, who were still present in the auditorium, to see if they would make a move.

But they remained silent.

Perhaps even the Dukes behind them didn't have savings of more than ten million Nature Spirits at the moment.

Meanwhile, Luca kept scanning the people he thought might bid, his expression anxious, clearly worried the price might rise beyond his budget.

"Twelve million!" Olivia suddenly raised her hand, shocking Richard even more—wondering just where her wealth came from.
