Chapter 516 Leaving (2/3)
Yang Chen left the hall and saw Jian Feng guarding at the door. He said in a deep voice, "Come with me to a place!"
"Yes!" Jian Feng nodded and immediately followed behind Yang Chen.
The two left the Ye family, drove to an old neighborhood nearby.
In the neighborhood, it was the temporary base of Asura Hall.
As soon as they reached the door, the room door opened.
This was natural. If they didn't have this level of vigilance, they would have been exposed long ago.
"Master!" The one who opened the door was Meng Po.
Wearing a simple white T-shirt and shorts, her figure was incredibly enticing.
Seeing this, Jian Feng couldn't help but gulp loudly, so much that even Yang Chen heard it.
Yang Chen couldn't help but glare at Jian Feng.
Jian Feng looked embarrassed, grinning awkwardly.
For those like them who undergo long-term training at the base and practically have no vacation time, seeing a woman would be exciting, let alone a flavorful one like Meng Po.
Yang Chen asked, "Where are the others?"
Meng Po said, "I have them resting in the room. They shouldn't come out unless necessary."
Yang Chen nodded and walked into the room.
Jian Feng followed him inside.
Meng Po asked, "What are you doing here?"
She remained wary of Jian Feng.
Jian Feng replied, "Of course, I'm following my boss!"
Yang Chen waved his hand and said, "It's okay. We're all our own people."
Meng Po gave Jian Feng a deep look, and only then did she stop questioning him.
Yang Chen checked around the room. The brothers had all suffered some injuries, but none were too serious. They were all external injuries, and a few days of rest would heal them.
Meng Po asked, "Master, what do you need us to do next? Track them down?"
Yang Chen shook his head, "No need. You all stay here and recover recently. Once I've recuperated, I'll take you back."
"It's okay. We can leave on our own," Meng Po said.
Yang Chen shook his head, "No, don't take any actions recently. The scrutiny is too strict right now. Let's wait for the situation to settle."
Meng Po nodded. She wouldn't doubt Yang Chen's decisions.
"Try not to expose your whereabouts. I need a few days of quiet healing," Yang Chen said.
"Understood!"
After leaving, Yang Chen returned to the Ye family, entered the secret chamber, and began his retreat.
...
At this moment, in the villa in the far outskirts of Jin Chen.
Kun Bai walked out with a pale face.
He looked over at a group of his subordinates.
These people still appeared listless one by one.
No wonder, they had just rested for three days and hadn't recovered yet.
Especially Shangyao.
Shangyao's face was pale at this moment, his limbs weak, as if he could collapse to the ground at any time.
Because Yang Chen had been too ruthless, his meridians were damaged in many places, nearly crippling him. Although he's somewhat recovered now, the severe internal injuries remain uncertain if they'll heal. He needs to return to the Sect and seek help from his master.
Shangyao clenched his fist, his eyes flashing with hatred.
Even if his injuries recover, his cultivation might drop significantly. He probably wouldn't be able to keep his position as the first heir of the Sect.
Thinking about it made Shangyao furious, wishing he could find Yang Chen immediately and kill him!
Initially, he wanted to take this opportunity to climb up, but unexpectedly, he stumbled here.
If given another chance, he would make sure to kill Yang Chen!
The same went for Kun Bai.
In the past few days, Kun Bai also had someone perform surgery on him to treat his external injuries, though his internal injuries haven't recovered much.
But he knew he couldn't stay outside for too long, lest the Sect Master and others become suspicious and come searching, thus exposing everything, especially that he was injured by a junior.
So, now he could only endure.
He had only handled his external injuries without starting recovery, yet he already wanted everyone to pack up and leave.
Despite the complaints and grievances, he had to take action.
Ye Xin, as usual, wearing a trench coat that concealed her desirable figure, kept a straight face, continuously fiddling with a flying knife in her hand. If anyone approached, she'd throw the knife without hesitation, killing them!
At this moment, she sensed someone approaching and swiftly threw the dagger.
Whoosh!
The person quickly dodged upon seeing it.
The flying knife grazed her cheek, severing a strand of hair, and whizzed past.
"Junior sister! What are you doing!" Shanghua shouted angrily.
Ye Xin looked calmly over and asked, "What's up?"
Suppressing her anger, Shanghua said, "It's time to set off back to the Sect!"
Hearing this, Ye Xin paused, looked out the window, and muttered, "Leaving already?"
"Hurry! We're leaving!" Shanghua urged.
"Oh!" Ye Xin responded, stood up, and followed Shanghua out.
She had nothing to bring, nor did she take anything, so there was no need to pack.
The car arrived, and everyone got in one after another.
It was still an Alphard, equipped with an ultra-luxurious MVP. Sitting inside felt like being in a plane's first-class cabin.
But Ye Xin wasn't in the mood to enjoy it, didn't feel comfortable, simply stared out the window, her face full of sorrow, her eyes filled with sadness.
"Set off!" With Kun Bai's command, the car sped down the mountain.
Suddenly, Ye Xin sensed something amiss, quickly turned to look back.
She saw a flash of red light, then... a burst of flames soared into the sky—right at the villa they were staying in!
Witnessing this, a cold glint flashed in Ye Xin's eyes.
From the front, Kun Bai calmly said, "Gone, no need to waste!"
Ye Xin leaned back in her seat, pretending to sleep, but her heart felt icy cold.
Before leaving, Ye Xin had set a locator in the house.
Now the house was bombed, naturally making it impossible to locate.
She hadn't expected Kun Bai to be so cautious, and additionally... where did he get the weapons?
The car continued to drive, Ye Xin's heart sank involuntarily.
She hadn't been idle over the years, always searching for the whereabouts of the Shangqing Sect.
Because she had visited the Shangqing Sect once before, she had a vague impression of its location, thus narrowing the search range considerably. However, in over a decade, she hadn't obtained any useful information, showing just how hidden the Shangqing Sect's location was.
Even Ye Xin, who knew approximately where it was, couldn't find it, let alone Yang Chen, who knew nothing.
Finding the Shangqing Sect might be harder than climbing to the sky!
There were practically no undeveloped areas left in Flame Country, and every location was exposed to satellites, yet the Shangqing Sect hadn't been discovered by anyone, indicating that they're exceptionally hidden. Relying on electronic equipment definitely wouldn't work.
So, Yang Chen's chances of finding the Shangqing Sect were slim.
Ye Xin secretly prayed in her heart, hoping for Yang Chen's safety, and hoping he could locate the Shangqing Sect... perhaps... not knowing might be better... not knowing, Ye Xin didn't even know what she was hoping for.
She longed to meet Yang Chen but feared for his safety at the same time. Such contradictory feelings left Ye Xin unsettled...
