Chapter 271: I Am the Most Devout Follower of the Gods
[Alice donned the postman's badge.]
[This badge was lent to Alice by Oshana.]
[Although she didn't know exactly what Alice intended to do, the offspring of the Price Clan never doubted their friends.]
[They always possess the ability to judge whether someone could be a friend, and once they befriend someone, they trust them unconditionally.]
[After a few days of probing, Alice had determined the power possessed by the Thunder Church in Elm City.]
[However, regarding the existence of such a legendary tool that could break realms and banish gods, they actually did not believe it, but held a 'better to believe it exists' attitude and intensified the defense of Elm City.]
[Since the Daylight and War God were at war, they were particularly sensitive to such a tool, even sending their strongest forces.]
[This was unexpected by the Church of the Master of Thunder; otherwise, it wouldn't have been just an East District Archbishop involved.]
[Alice acutely noticed the slight differences in both parties' attitudes, sensing an opportunity to exploit.]
[As an organization for exchanging information among major churches, the postmen's duty is to prevent such occurrences.]
[Staring at the unfamiliar face in the mirror, a cunning glint shone in Alice's eyes.]
["Can the information above really be recognized?" Alice asked Aina worriedly, "Won't it trouble Oshana?"]
[Alice didn't want her capricious actions to bring calamity upon her friend.]
[Aina gave a thumbs up, saying: "Mother's technique, trust it."]
"You helped Aina with it?" Shen Sui looked at Freymia, who was leaning on his shoulder, chuckling as she watched her daughter on the screen.
She looked like a mother separated from her daughter for too long, chatting through a video call.
"This kind of magic, Aina has to learn it eventually." Freymia said with a breath, "After all, if she wants to implement her policy in the future but the Elder Council disagrees, forging the Elder Council's seal that can pass through the executor is a necessary skill."
"???" Shen Sui stared at Freymia in astonishment, "Are all Elf Empresses like this?"
"Hmph! Without such ability," Freymia wrinkled her elegant nose, "how could I bypass the Elder Council to have the people below use the corpse of a Boundary-breaking Worm to make such a tall Breaking Boundary Tower?"
"Ah?" Shen Sui originally thought Freymia's action was common knowledge among the Elf Race, not realizing it was Freymia's solo act, "Building such a tower, are the elves' elders blind?"
"Oh, they all thought the other agreed, so no one cared." Freymia winked at Shen Sui, smiling, "The elders have been working together for so long, they have a tacit understanding, and are not willing to meddle in each other's affairs, as long as it doesn't involve the survival of the Elf Race, generally as long as one elder approves, it's fine. Why do you think I want to research forging magic?"
Shen Sui was at a loss for words regarding Freymia's actions.
She is a competent lover.
But definitely not a competent Empress.
[Alice easily met Klei with the postman's badge.]
[Klei was troubled by the recent attacks on Hozerville and was suddenly informed of a postman delivering important intelligence, understandably puzzled.]
["The Breaking Boundary Divine Artifact is a conspiracy." Alice looked seriously at Klei, "It's a conspiracy by the Twilight Council, aiming to incite strife among the churches with this false information, recreating the Twilight of the Gods from the past."]
[With such a piece of big news right off the bat, Klei was truly shocked.]
["The Twilight Council? You mean that Twilight Council?" Klei glanced at the badge on Alice's chest; were it not for finding no issues with the badge, he would presume the woman claiming to be from the Natural Association to be a lunatic.]
[The Twilight Council should have disbanded over a thousand years ago due to internal conflict.]
["Yes."]
["Impossible! Absolutely impossible!" Klei waved his hands, expressing disbelief, "In this age, how could there be a Twilight Council!"]
["Then do you think, the War God's planning is utterly ineffective?" Alice placed her hand on her chest with profound respect and devotion.]
[To become a postman, one must be a staunch supporter of the divine rule, with genuine respect for all gods.]
[Oshana was such a person, but being of the Price Clan, she prioritized friends' interests over her own, willing to set aside her faith to sincerely help Alice.]
["What do you mean by this?"]
["This Twilight Council isn't the historical one," Alice smirked, "It has become more pure, established by a fanatical group of believers of the Twilight Saintess Vivian, firmly convinced that recreating the Twilight would bring about the saintess's return."]
["To them, the Twilight Saintess isn't just an ideology, but a god." Alice said smilingly, "Isn't that our goal? Their faith will kill the true Twilight Saintess, and the one their madness brings forth will be our best ally."]
["You all... are too insane." Klei stared at Alice in disbelief.]
[He finally began to partly believe what Alice said. Because the intention of the War God Church to divine Vivian was a secret only known to the higher-ups.]
[Although Klei didn't agree with such madness, if Vivian could indeed be bound by divine position due to the divinization movement, unable to harm the gods, it would be a good thing for the Master of Thunder.]
["For the greatness of The Gods." Alice showed a devout expression.]
[Alice used In the Name of God on Klei.]
[Alice gained Klei's trust.]
["I will pass this information to the other churches," Alice said to Klei, "The Daylight Church and the War God Church have already sent people to Elm City."]
["What?" Klei said in disbelief, although he had anticipated it, he never expected it to happen so swiftly.]
["This is the Twilight Council's conspiracy," Alice stated, "A fake divine artifact to instigate a war among the three churches, it's such an efficient move."]
["The friction between Daylight and War God is merely a power struggle among the gods," Alice exhaled, "You wouldn't want the real Vivian to return, would you? The Twilight Saintess hasn't ascended to the divine position yet."]
["I understand now," Klei said, taking a deep breath.]
Alice added again: "Words alone prove nothing, I can open the treasure box and let you see."]
["What? You can actually open the Twilight Bishop's treasure box?" Klei looked at Alice with surprise. ]
Alice smiled confidently: "Don't underestimate couriers, dear Archbishop."]
Alice instructed Klei to prepare the materials needed to open the treasure box.
Alice stood in front of the treasure box, silently calling your name in her heart.
Shen Sui watched this and knew that Alice had made up her mind.
All that filled her heart now was hatred towards the Master of Thunder Church.
["Do you need me to do anything?"]
However, when your own child desires to do something, just let them do it; all a father can offer is support.
["In a moment."] Alice opened the treasure box and retrieved the items inside.
[Ding, you have acquired the Spell Card: Flame Storm.]
[Ding, you have acquired the Spell Card: Celestial Fire Chain.]
[Ding, you have acquired the Permanent Spell Card: Fire Elementalization.]
....
A series of notifications appeared for acquiring spell cards.
Most of these are spells ranked seven or eight, with a few ranked nine.
Back then, after meeting Vivian at the Roland Magic Academy, Shen Sui rushed to Elm City to gather butterfly wings for accessories at the academy, where he collected many skill books. While gathering butterfly wings, he found his backpack too full, so he quickly crafted a treasure box in Elm City and tossed all those skill books into it.
These spells, which were not very useful to Shen Sui, were a significant reinforcement for Alice—provided she could learn them.
However, now wasn't the time to study magic.
After replacing some of the rarer items with materials from the ring, Alice closed the treasure box.
Then, under Klei's gaze, she pretended to perform a very complex opening ceremony for the treasure box.
Shen Sui silently watched Alice's performance, finding her sudden diligence oddly endearing.
"Did Alice ask you to help her with something?" Freymia asked curiously.
"How did you know?"
"You have this look parents get when their children need them," Freymia said, patting Shen Sui on the shoulder with a mischievous grin, "I should know, I get that look when Aina needs my help."
"We're not even parents, so let's not talk about parenting experiences, okay?" Shen Sui quipped, exasperated.
Freymia gave a charming smile and leaned close to Shen Sui's ear, whispering, "I wouldn't mind having one, actually."
Shen Sui was so flustered by Freymia's words that his hair stood on end.
Seeing Shen Sui like this, Freymia burst into laughter, covering her mouth.
Damn it!
Don't get too smug.
Tonight, I'll deal with you!
Shen Sui was inexplicably annoyed.
"So, what did Alice ask you to do?" Freymia's curiosity was insatiable.
"It's nothing major," Shen Sui said casually, "just to hurt someone."
"Who?"
"Marcin."
"The War God High Priest?" Freymia exclaimed in surprise.
