Chapter 9: OCA Judgment on Jackson's Killer
Max's eyes fluttered open. He found Jackson's body lying in front of him. His eyes were blank and filled with fear, as if someone had suddenly taken his life. His body was covered in blood, and several students were standing near him. "OCA JUDGEMENT" was written in big letters in blood on the wall. These words seemed to echo in the air, and there was a strange silence in the atmosphere.
Max could not understand how he came here. His last memory was when he was going out of OCA, and saw Jackson sitting in the park. He could not remember any scene after that.
He looks carefully and finds that about 100 outcast students were standing around him. All of them were wearing OCA uniform. He recognizes some of these people as Rudra, Neena and Anna, but the rest were all strangers.
In front, a man wrapped in a black cloth was sitting, whose face was covered with a mask. The man stood up laughing like a devil and pointed his finger at all the students and said, "One of you killed this student. If you answer incorrectly, my heart will destroy you. My power as a judge is perfect. That's why, I am the king here."
His voice was terrifying, and his words sounded terrifying.
Max immediately opened his system screen and looked at his status. He was shocked when he saw that his level was 03, and his life time had increased. He thought to himself, "Am I... am I his killer?"
Max remembered that killing someone increased the system's life time and reward. Was this a sign that he was Jackson's killer? Fear and doubt both arose inside him.
The judge's loud voice caught his attention then. "If you don't answer correctly, my spirit will take your life from you," he said. "I will destroy you." And then the man laughed and said, "I am the king here."
Max's eyes widened. Was all this true? Was he the one who caused Jackson's death? He was asking himself this question every moment.
Then the judge called a student forward by name. The boy looked at all the students, trembling and scared. Then he slowly pointed towards Anna. "That girl," he said.
All eyes fell on Anna. Anna's face showed lines of fear, and she started trembling. She was scared, because suddenly she was accused.
Then the judge said, "Wrong answer." And suddenly, a huge scorpion came out of the judge's back and ate the boy. The scorpion stood there for a while, and then stood aside.
Fear was clearly visible on Max and Rudra's faces at this sight. Was this really happening? Were they next?
Now another boy was named. The boy came forward trembling. The judge asked the same question, "Tell me, who killed this boy?"
The boy was very scared. His legs were trembling, and he knew that if he gave the wrong answer, he would also be killed. It was very difficult to name any one of the 98 students.
The boy nervously pointed to one boy. "He," he could barely say.
"Wrong answer!" On hearing the judge's order, the scorpion showed its destructive power again and swallowed the boy.
Now only four students were left - Max, Rudra, Neena and Anna. The rest were all eaten by the scorpion. The judge now took another name, and it became even more tense now.
Max's mind was in turmoil. He now felt that perhaps he was the real killer. What was this system showing him, and did he have any way to escape?
All eyes were now on the three remaining students. The judge called Nina and asked the same question. Nina tremblingly pointed to Rudra. "He," she said.
"Wrong answer!" the judge said again, and the scorpion swallowed Nina. Now only Max and Rudra were left.
Max's heart was filled with doubts. Was he himself a part of all this? Did he kill someone intentionally? Did he kill someone to escape the scorpion?
Now Rudra was called by the judge. Max decided to go himself, stopping Rudra. He had made up his mind. He started thinking, "If this is a game, then I have to end it."
The judge asked the same question, "You tell me, who killed this boy?"
Max, lost in deep thought, pointed to the judge, "You."
Everyone looked at Max in shock, and the judge's eyes were filled with surprise and anger. "This can't be! How can you say such a thing?" As the words came out of the judge's mouth, the scorpion disappeared.
Max's mind was confused, but he now understood that this was just a game, in which he had to rely on his understanding and judgment.
Chapter: The OCA Judgment Unravelled
The judge groaned in pain and said in a harsh voice, "No... this cannot be possible! Till date no one has been able to escape my illusion, how did you know that I am responsible?"
There was a mixture of anger and surprise in his voice, as if he was hiding a big secret. Suddenly, the walls of the room started turning into pitch black darkness. It seemed that both time and space were merging, as if all this was just a scary fantasy. He had rubbed his hair on his face. A strange thought came to his mind - did he harm Jackson on purpose? But then he looked at Rudra. Rudra did not have any special powers, while Jackson's condition was telling something else. He felt as if someone had harmed Jackson very hard.
Then, suddenly, the Judge's form started changing. His eyes turned blood red, and strange things started to surround his body. He was changing into a bad, scary form.
The air stirred, and a deep, scary voice pierced the air, "My revenge will be taken... my brother. He will definitely destroy you." Saying this, he disappeared.
Max's eyes were wide open. Revenge? What had he done? Was all this real, or was it part of some horrible dream? He could not understand anything. And what revenge was he talking about?
Then, suddenly, a notification came from the system:
Challenge completed

Level: 03
HP: 10/10
Strength: 10/10
Skill: 3
Experience Points: 25/50

Max carefully looked at the system score. He had also received a new skill, but was all this real? He was confused.
He closed his eyes, and when he opened them, he found that he was now in a completely different place. He had no clothes on his body and where he was standing, there was dirt all over. The walls were broken, and the place looked like a ruin.
Max picked himself up, and thinking to himself, "Is all this happening to me?" he checked his screen. And that was what happened, he had been impaled. Was it not a dream?
What was that, he couldn't understand how this could have happened. Slowly standing up, he assessed his situation and looked around carefully. The place looked like an old ruin that must have been a part of civilization at some point of time.
The moonlight was falling on the walls, and the scene looked very mysterious and scary. Suddenly, Max heard a pitiful sound in his ears. It was the sound of someone dying, groaning in pain, and then it was heard - someone was brutally beating someone.
Max moved towards that sound in fear. As he got closer, he saw a boy brutally beating another boy. The boy's pain was clearly visible in his eyes, as if he was struggling to save his life.
When Max saw that boy, his heart stopped. This was the same boy he had seen this morning. That boy was Sachin! The boy he had seen in his morning fight was now killing another boy.
Max's blood boiled. Was this real? Was this a dream he had, or had it become a horrifying reality?
Max's heart started pounding. He started feeling suffocated in this strange environment. There was something that did not seem right. His system was showing growth on the screen, but he could not believe that he had attacked someone in his own room.
