Chapter 92: Ghost Hand The Great Dao
With Lin Yifan's protection, she clearly felt more confident.
Afterward, the three of them continued to walk forward.
Every few meters, a ghost would pop up from either side, along with coffins and creepy, terror-inducing skulls.
Since she had seen a "ghost," Zhou Jiajia seemed to have gained some courage. Faced with these sudden appearances, she would just scream loudly instead of trembling and feeling scared to tears as she had at the beginning.
Having experienced the prelude, the three of them entered the climax of the Haunted House; this was also the scariest part of the course.
At this moment, the eerie and thrilling sounds grew louder, and the surroundings became darker and more terrifying.
Moving forward, something suddenly grabbed An Qi's foot, who was leading the way, startling her.
She lifted her captured foot in fright and struggled to free herself.
Fortunately, it was just a prop, otherwise it wouldn't have been so easy for her to escape.
An Qi's encounter startled Zhou Jiajia who was following behind; she then asked anxiously, "An Qi, what happened? What grabbed you?"
"I was grabbed by a ghost hand," An Qi replied, still shaken.
"Ghost Hand!" Upon hearing these words, Zhou Jiajia instinctively stepped back, obviously frightened.
Because the floor ahead was dim, she couldn't see the shadow of the ghost hand, which made her very scared. Humans always harbor a fear of the unknown; only those with great courage might not feel as frightened.
Seeing Zhou Jiajia shrinking back in fear, An Qi reassured her, "Jiajia, don't be afraid, the ghost hand is fake; moreover, it's not high, you can just jump over it."
"Where is it?" Zhou Jiajia asked.
The distance between her and An Qi was about two meters. Even if she jumped, she needed to know the approximate position of the ghost hand; otherwise, jumping onto the ghost hand would certainly terrify her.
"Jiajia, wait a moment, I will check its position for you." Having said that, An Qi extended her foot to test it.
After extending approximately fifty centimeters, she eventually triggered the ghost hand prop, and the next moment, a ghost hand grabbed her foot.
Knowing that the ghost hand was fake, she was no longer afraid. Standing there, she said, "Jiajia, the ghost hand is in this position; it grabbed my foot, hurry up and jump over."
"Okay!"
Checking An Qi's position, Zhou Jiajia moved forward seventy centimeters, then took a leap over the ghost hand to a safe area.
Then, An Qi withdrew her foot, waiting for the ghost hand to let go.
Feeling something struggling, the ghost hand automatically loosened and retracted.
Free from its grasp, An Qi quickly backed away and then came to Zhou Jiajia's side.
Next, it was Lin Yifan's turn to come over.
Lin Yifan, fearless, directly stepped over the ghost hand to join the two women.
"Alright! Jiajia, let's continue moving forward," An Qi said.
"Okay!" Zhou Jiajia responded.
Thus, An Qi continued to lead the way, with Zhou Jiajia closely following her, and Lin Yifan protecting from behind.
They had advanced a few more meters when they arrived at "Ghost Hand Avenue."
As the name "Ghost Hand Avenue" implies, there were many "ghost hands" on both sides. These "ghost hands" moved, and the skin color closely resembled that of human arms, very lifelike.
As soon as they entered "Ghost Hand Avenue," An Qi was frightened to the point of wetting herself because some ghost hands had grabbed onto her clothes.
"Ah!!! Help! Help! Pervert! Someone save me!"
Hearing her screams, Lin Yifan rushed over in a single bound and quickly pressed An Qi down.
Since the "ghost hands" opened and closed intermittently, they wouldn't continuously grasp onto An Qi's clothes. Therefore, by pressing An Qi downward, they could escape the clutches of the "ghost hands."
The "ghost hands" were arranged in a line about one meter forty from the ground, leaving a sizable safe space underneath.
After pressing An Qi down, Lin Yifan soothed her, "Don't be scared, it's all over now."
"Wuuu!!! I was scared to death." An Qi threw herself into Lin Yifan's arms, sobbing uncontrollably.
The moment the dim light had flared up, she had been genuinely terrified. She saw many "ghost hands" on the walls on both sides, all eerily lifelike; lifelike was one thing, but the fact that they moved, coupled with the terrifying moaning, made her feel as though she was about to be dragged away by ghosts, or torn apart.
"Don't be scared! It's all fake," Lin Yifan continued to comfort her.
At this moment, Zhou Jiajia also bent down and quickly came up beside An Qi; then she continuously stroked An Qi's back, comforting her, "Little sister An Qi, don't be scared, we are here, and we won't let you get hurt."
In truth, Zhou Jiajia was scared too, but after seeing that the "ghost hands" only snapped open and closed, she was no longer afraid. As long as they were not actively attacking, there was nothing to fear.
In a haunted house, the person who goes first is usually the most susceptible to getting scared; even if you are very brave, you can still be startled by something that suddenly appears.
Once her emotions had stabilized, An Qi crawled along the five-meter-long "Ghost Hand Avenue" with the assistance of Lin Yifan and Zhou Jiajia.
When she looked back again, she was no longer afraid of these realistic "ghost hands."
"Boss An! Are you okay? Do you want me to lead the way?" Lin Yifan asked.
"No need! I'll lead the way," An Qi replied.
This was her first time in such a terrifying haunted house, so she definitely wanted to seize the opportunity to explore the unknown horrors.
"Alright then! Let's get in formation and continue on," Lin Yifan said, and returned to the back, waiting for An Qi to lead the way.
Taking a deep breath to bolster her courage, An Qi then continued onward.
They advanced a few more meters and came to another checkpoint – "Zombie Prison."
"Zombie Prison" was located on the right side of the road, a facility confining "zombies," and thus it housed many terrifying "zombies."
As soon as she stepped into this area, An Qi's hair stood on end; first, she felt a cold wind blowing from the right, followed by a wave of frightening zombie cries that bore down on her; then, when a red light flashed on, many ghost hands and vicious zombies suddenly emerged from the right.
These zombies were hissing at them and continuously rammed against the prison's gates, incredibly lifelike.
"Ah!!!"
Zhou Jiajia was the first to be frightened because she saw that these zombies moved and were not props – they were "living" zombies!
An Qi was frightened shortly after; the sudden crashing genuinely startled her; moreover, these "zombies" were not props but living, moving, crying beings with various ferocious expressions; at that moment, she genuinely perceived these "zombies" as real, fearing that they might break through the doors.
