My Sexy Female CEO

Chapter 262 The Cunning An Gang

However, the two bodyguards stationed at the door were exceptionally dedicated; to buy more time for the person inside, they actually attempted to intercept Lin Yifan, which was courting death.

So the next moment, both of them were taken down to the ground by Lin Yifan's two kicks.

Pushing the door open and striding in, Lin Yifan and An Qi immediately saw An Gang; he was sitting next to An Qi's father's hospital bed, seemingly without any issues.

Their sudden appearance startled An Gang; he thought he was seeing things, so he rubbed his eyes and looked again, only to find Lin Yifan and An Qi were still there.

"Weren't they supposed to have died at sea? How are they still alive?"

As he questioned this, Lin Yifan strode towards him, looking like he intended to teach him a lesson.

The bodyguards next to him saw Lin Yifan's fury and stepped in to intervene; however, their obstruction was no match for Lin Yifan.

After fending off the two bodyguards, Lin Yifan grabbed An Gang with one hand and raised his palm to strike.

"Slap!"

The crisp sound resonated in the room, shocking everyone present.

An Gang seemed to be jolted awake; he glared at Lin Yifan, furious and bellowed, "You dare to hit me? I'll have you thrown in jail!"

"Damn you, you old fool, I haven't even sued you yet, and you dare to sue me? You're really asking for it!" After saying that, Lin Yifan was about to raise his hand again and strike down hard.

However, this time, he was stopped by the police who had followed them.

After all, in this society governed by the rule of law, every citizen is protected by the law. And as police officers, they have to uphold justice; they couldn't just stand by and watch Lin Yifan assault someone because if word got out, it would have a very negative impact on society.

Stopped by the police, Lin Yifan was willing to back off; however, after letting go, he still warned An Gang, "Just you wait, if I catch you slipping up, you'll be begging for mercy! Humph!"

On the other side, An Qi and her father, Mr. An, were comforting each other.

Seeing that her father was unharmed, An Qi could finally let the stone in her heart fall.

And seeing An Qi return unscathed, Mr. An was overwhelmed with emotion; he thought he would never see his daughter again in his lifetime.

Mrs. An was also relieved; had something happened to An Qi, she wouldn't want to live either.

"Qi'er, was it him who kidnapped you?" Mr. An asked, pointing at An Gang.

Now, he had completely disowned this so-called older brother by blood; hence his change of address.

"It feels like it, unfortunately, there's no concrete evidence." An Qi glared at An Gang with eyes filled with rage.

Her own great-uncle had tried to murder her time and again, leaving her both heartbroken and furious; she really wanted to rip out his heart and see what it was made of, so vile that he could even harm his own kin.

"I have conclusive evidence!" Mr. An said, then he complained to the police, "Officers, he just admitted that my daughter was in his hands and threatened me that if I didn't sign the contract, he would kill my daughter. He's the mastermind behind her kidnapping, arrest him!"

However, his claim was somewhat feeble, so the police asked him, "Do you have any evidence?"

"Yes! My bodyguards, my housekeeper, and my wife can all testify; moreover, the contract is still in his hands." Mr. An answered.

"Officers! Don't believe his nonsense. It was he who proposed the idea of the contract to me, wanting to sell the company and then raise money to ransom his daughter from the kidnappers." An Gang immediately retorted.

The police didn't just take his word for it and asked to see the contract for inspection.

An Gang wisely had his men hand over the contract, knowing full well there was nothing in it indicating coercion; even if the police looked at it clearly and carefully, they wouldn't find any useful evidence.

Seeing the sly smile that appeared on An Gang's face, Lin Yifan knew that they wouldn't be able to touch An Gang over the contract; he thus turned to An Qi's father, who was on the hospital bed, and asked, "Chairman, do you have any recordings?"

"No! We were all controlled by his men just now, there was no way to make a recording." Mr. An answered.

"Alas! Then there's nothing we can do." Lin Yifan sighed helplessly.

With no cameras in the room and no recordings, their testimony alone couldn't touch An Gang.

An Qi also felt a sense of loss, clearly aware that their so-called "evidence" couldn't touch An Gang.

Seeing them both sigh, Mr. An asked puzzledly, "Why sigh? We have witness testimony and physical evidence, are we really afraid that we can't sue this perpetrator?"

"Dad! We only have witness testimony; the contract you're talking about, if it's legit, doesn't count as physical evidence; we can't sue him with that." An Qi explained.

"Why not? Isn't witness testimony evidence?" Mr. An didn't quite understand.

Over the years, although his company had been involved in many lawsuits, those were handled by lawyers, and he rarely inquired about the litigation, so he didn't realize that when there's only witness testimony, it's not enough for conviction.

"Witness testimony is evidence, but it doesn't have much proof power, so it's not enough to make a judge's decision." An Qi replied.

"So he gets off scot-free?" Mr. An was extremely frustrated.

"There's nothing we can do, this is a lawful society, and everything relies on evidence." An Qi responded helplessly.

"Damn it!" Angered, Mr. An's heart condition was triggered, leaving him gasping for air.

Seeing his condition, Mrs. An quickly brought him his medication to take, and An Qi also kept persuading her father to relax and not to get angry.

The police in the room, wanting to find some valuable evidence, quickly and thoroughly reviewed the contract and eventually found a valuable lead at the end of the contract, prompting them to question An Gang, "This contract is for the transfer of shares, not the sale of shares, which is inconsistent with what you said earlier. What's your explanation for this?"

"What's wrong with that? Doesn't it all come down to him giving me the company in exchange for money?" An Gang calmly inquired.

"Why would Mr. An, with a clear mind, sign such a disadvantageous contract?" the police countered.

This contract was one-sidedly beneficial, and if the party transferring the shares hadn't received any money beforehand, it would be a loss-making deal; thus, a rational person would not sign such a contract that offered no benefits to themselves.

"He was desperate for money, and I assured him with my integrity that as soon as he signs, I'll pay up immediately." An Gang continued his defense.
