My Sexy Female CEO

Chapter 245: Blue Orb

Actually, the reason he wanted to venture into the jungle was to figure out what these sea snakes were up to.

He felt that there was something very troubling about these sea snakes. It couldn't simply be mating and laying eggs that provoked such a large scale movement; moreover, when he had entered the jungle earlier, he hadn't spotted any snake eggs at all; not even a shadow of an eggshell was to be seen. Therefore, these sea snakes definitely weren't entering the jungle on the small island to mate and lay eggs.

Meanwhile, An Qi clung to Lin Yifan like a koala clings to a tree. Besides that, she kept her eyes tightly closed, not daring to take even a peek at her surroundings, frightened to death.

At that moment, she had completely lost her initial spirit.

"Big pervert, let's just get out of here," An Qi suggested.

"Didn't you just vow not to be afraid? How come you're suddenly scared?" Lin Yifan teased.

"That was all talk in anger. Let's really get out of here," An Qi suggested again.

"No way! Since we're already here, we should properly investigate, can't just return empty-handed," Lin Yifan replied.

"Investigate? What's there to investigate?" An Qi didn't understand.

"These sea snakes move mysteriously, I think there might be treasures deep in the jungle," Lin Yifan answered.

"Treasures? I think it's more likely a snake nest; future husband, let's just get out of here and not mess with these sea snakes," An Qi was completely discouraged.

She really didn't want to go looking for any snake nest. If they accidentally fell into one, that would be the end; and who knows if there might be something terrifying inside the nest.

"Don't let your imagination run wild. If we haven't witnessed it firsthand, it doesn't exist," Lin Yifan ignored An Qi's suggestion and continued moving deeper into the jungle.

An Qi felt like she had boarded a ship of thieves; she shouldn't have let her temper make the decision in the first place. Now, whether she wanted to go back or forward, both options seemed cursed.

After moving forward several hundred meters and climbing numerous steep slopes, Lin Yifan finally discovered where these mysteriously moving sea snakes were headed—they were all crawling towards an underground cave.

This underground cave was highly concealed, its entrance covered with vines and from a distance, it looked like a dirt wall. If not for the snakes leading the way, Lin Yifan might have never found this underground cave.

An Qi also saw the cave. Feeling Lin Yifan starting to move, she nervously asked, "Big pervert, what are you doing?"

"I'm going to check it out," Lin Yifan answered.

"Don't go! That's a snake cave, there might be something terrifying inside," An Qi said fearfully, her heart filled with panic.

"Don't scare yourself. If I find something is wrong, I'll immediately take you out, don't be afraid," Lin Yifan reassured her as he continued forward.

An Qi had no choice but to trust the man she loved, though the feeling of placing her life in someone else's hands was far from pleasant.

After walking a few dozen steps, Lin Yifan finally reached the entrance. He then stretched his hand to sweep aside the vines covering the entrance and, holding a torch and embracing An Qi, walked into it.

Once inside, he discovered that the underground cave was much larger than he had imagined; the largest part could accommodate a residential building with an area of one hundred square meters and three floors high. Besides, the cave was quite deep, as even after walking fifty meters, Lin Yifan still hadn't encountered any of the sea snakes.

The dim, underground cave was damp, with both sides of the cave walls and the ceiling constantly seeping and dripping water.

Seeing this scene, a sense of fear rose in An Qi's heart, and she urged again, "Big pervert, let's go out. Don't go any further."

She was really worried. What would they do if they actually encountered the snake king?

"We're already at the door to the treasure, why not go in and have a look? We might really find some treasures," Lin Yifan responded.

"What treasures could there possibly be in this godforsaken place? Let's just get out of here, don't go in," An Qi continued to persuade.

However, Lin Yifan had made up his mind, so no amount of persuasion from her was useful.

"Don't worry really, your future husband is a psychic, and I can easily run away with you. Trust me," Lin Yifan reassured her.

Then, holding a torch, he found a small path formed by trampled vegetation; he quickly followed the path.

"Ah!" Sighing, An Qi leaned on Lin Yifan's shoulder again, resigned to her fate.

Following the path, Lin Yifan advanced another fifty meters; at that point, he finally noticed something.

He saw a deep blue light glowing not far away, incredibly eerie.

Next, he pressed on a few more steps, and then he encountered a mysterious phenomenon.

He saw heaps of sea snakes clustering around a blue light orb floating in midair, continuously breathing in and out as if they were imparting something to the blue orb.

Lin Yifan used his Cultivation Power to sense the surroundings and discovered that the sea snakes were exhaling essence for the blue orb to absorb.

"Oh my god! What is this ghostly thing? There's even such a weird occurrence happening." Lin Yifan was shocked.

He felt that the blue orb must be a treasure, absorbing so much essence from the sea snakes; it would be strange if it weren't something extraordinary.

"What's up? Did you find something?" An Qi curiously asked.

She was hugging Lin Yifan, with her head on his shoulder; hence she did not notice the anomaly in front.

"Found a treasure!" Lin Yifan replied excitedly.

"A treasure? Where?" An Qi suddenly got excited; then she turned her head back to see what it was.

"Over there!" Lin Yifan stretched out his hand and pointed at the blue orb in front of them.

Following the direction Lin Yifan pointed, An Qi saw a floating deep blue orb in midair; the orb radiated blue light, illuminating the space around it; looking below the blue orb, there were numerous black and white venomous sea snakes.

"Big pervert! What is that thing? Why are these sea snakes clustering around it?" An Qi was full of doubts, utterly puzzled.

This was her first time witnessing such a phenomenon. Even National Geographic had never reported such a strange animal behavior.

"I don't know. But one thing is for certain, that blue thing is a treasure to these sea snakes," Lin Yifan answered.

"No kidding, I could see that myself," An Qi said irritably; then she asked, "What do we do now? Should we go back?"

"A treasure is right before our eyes, how can we simply give up?" Lin Yifan countered.

"But... Can you really fight off so many sea snakes?" An Qi questioned.

There were at least tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of sea snakes; such a mass of sea snakes was a terrifying force.

"Can't fight them off, but let's try; if really necessary, we'll retreat." Facing this group of sea snakes, Lin Yifan had no other choice.
