My Sexy Female CEO

Chapter 143: Malicious Intentions

"The business deal is done, and now it's time to head back," Zhou Jiajia interjected with her answer.

Now that the young girl had just gone through the most frightening, most desperate moment; her soul still harboring major trauma, how could one just abandon her alone?

"Really?" Xiaolian asked.

If her own matter delayed someone else's big business deal, that would be a sin.

"Really!" Zhou Jiajia confirmed, and then said, "Let's go."

Since there were no objections, Xiaolian had no choice but to accept the kindness.

Afterwards, Lin Yifan drove both of them away.

On the car ride, Lin Yifan asked Xiaolian, "You live near Shiyin Village, right?"

"Yes!" Xiaolian answered.

But at this moment, Zhou Jiajia's face turned sour, and she asked, "How do you know this young lady's address? Do you know each other?"

Sitting next to Zhou Jiajia, Xiaolian could distinctly feel waves of jealousy. This was a situation she hoped to avoid, as she believed she stood no chance in a competition with this beautiful sister for a man.

"Boss and subordinate, a hotel, oh my! It can't really mean that, right?" Xiaolian thought to herself, feeling that the two's relationship did not appear to be a typical boss-employee dynamic.

So she decided to test the waters to see how the beautiful big sister would react, "Oh, it's like this; the day before yesterday, Mr. Lin got drunk at the bar; owing to how he had saved me a few days earlier, I wanted to repay the kindness. So I took him back to my place to rest. But I swear, nothing happened between us besides undressing him, so please don't worry, sister."

Upon hearing that he was at another woman's place, and even undressed by her, Zhou Jiajia could hardly cope; jealousy overwhelming her, she threatened, "Please, Mr. Lin, provide a reasonable explanation, or else, according to the contract, you're fired!"

The so-called 'you're fired' means breaking up.

"Contract agreement? What agreement?" Xiaolian asked curiously.

Seeing Zhou Jiajia's furious expression, she knew the two were involved, possibly having gone to a hotel room.

"I don't want this! I don't want it!" Xiaolian panicked internally. She had finally taken a liking to a dream guy, and she didn't want to lose him to someone else. So she comforted herself, "It can't be like that! It can't! I'm just overthinking."

"No drinking allowed," Zhou Jiajia responded.

"Is it really a contract agreement?" Xiaolian doubted; if it was true, then Zhou Jiajia's turning green could be justified.

"Why would I lie to you?" Zhou Jiajia ignored the question before threatening again, "Explain it quickly!"

Through the rearview mirror, catching Zhou Jiajia's angry gaze, Lin Yifan felt a chill; losing a great beauty like Zhou Jiajia over this matter seemed like too great a loss. So he quickly replied, "A few days ago, I went to my girlfriend's house for a marriage proposal, and her parents ruthlessly rejected me. I had no choice but to drown my sorrows in alcohol. I ended up drunk and unconscious, and Xiaolian, seeing my pitiful state, kindly dragged me to her rented room to take care of me. Since I vomited and soiled my clothes, Xiaolian helped me take off my shirt. That's all that happened."

"Nothing else happened?" Zhou Jiajia pressed, her mood much improved. After all, this was all caused by her parents; she couldn't blame him.

"Nothing!" Lin Yifan answered somewhat distractedly.

Because he thought of the bathroom incident, but he wouldn't speak of it. Doing so would only make things messier and more severe.

Sometimes, however, things don't go as one wishes; if he didn't speak, someone else would.

So after he finished talking, Xiaolian suddenly interjected with certainty, "There is! That night, this big jerk peeked at me taking a bath."

Just when things were settling down, her statement escalated everything to a new climax.

Xiaolian's reasoning was quite simple; she believed Lin Yifan and the beautiful boss were an item, and breaking them up would give her a chance.

In essence, she was playing dirty tricks. For love, this little girl was not so simple.

When Zhou Jiajia heard that Lin Yifan had peeked at the young girl bathing, she exploded in rage, scolding, "You scoundrel! You even prey on young girls! Are you still human? I am going to 'fire' you!"

Seeing this, Lin Yifan quickly reminded her, "Boss! Don't be angry! If you judge my character just based on a few words from others, that would be too hasty. Between us, trust is the most important. We can't let spiteful people divide us."

Now, he was a bit disgusted with Xiaolian's malicious ways. Regardless of whether Zhou Jiajia was his boss, such comments tarnished his reputation; he always had an aversion to people who didn't care about his wellbeing.

Reminded by Lin Yifan, Zhou Jiajia instantly calmed down, "Right! How could I be so impulsive? He's the person I love most; I should trust him! I've been foolish! Truly foolish!"

To settle her agitation, she asked, "Then how do you explain this matter?"

Though she chose to trust Lin Yifan, she did not dismiss Xiaolian's statement. Without evidence, everything deserved suspicion.

"That night, I slept on the bed for a while, and then I urgently needed the toilet, so I got up to find it. As I approached the bathroom door, she came out wrapped in a towel; then she assumed I was peeking at her in the bath. That's all there was to it," Lin Yifan explained truthfully.

"Lies! You were outside the bathroom peeking at me shower! You big pervert!" Xiaolian declared indignantly.

"You need evidence to make claims; don't falsely accuse me. I've saved you twice now, so you can't smear my name in front of my 'boss'!" Lin Yifan warned.

"Hmph! But you have no evidence to prove you didn't peek! Am I wrong to say that?" Xiaolian challenged.

"Of course, you're wrong! Don't you know the difference between 'certain' and 'possible'? If you said it's possible I peeked at you, I wouldn't argue; everyone has their judgment, and you not trusting me is okay. But if you say for certain, I must object; because I honestly did not peek at you bathing," Lin Yifan answered.

"Hmph! I still believe that you were peeking at me showering," Xiaolian pouted, clearly not convinced.

Of course, she wasn't convinced, knowing her plan had failed as Zhou Jiajia's expression softened.

"If that's what you think, then there's nothing I can do about it," Lin Yifan said indifferently.

After hearing their exchange, Zhou Jiajia had an epiphany that it was all just a misunderstanding, with no evidence to prove who was telling the truth or who was lying.
