Chapter144: Jargo Ironhoof's Mission
"Their High Chief is mad? That's good for us. They are easy to guide, and easier to crush," Vahn said.
Ezekiel then appeared before him with his usual soundless grace.
"Your majesty, the scouts already confirmed it. The Great Barbarian Union is trying to mobilize. But their tribes no longer trust one another. They are frightened of your rise."
Hearing him, a faint smirk formed on Vahn's lips.
"That's good. Fear makes them predictable."
Jargo nodded. "If we strike now, your majesty, their council will fracture before they can unite. The Union thrives on strength. If their strongest falls… the others will bow naturally."
Vahn turned his gaze on him.
"And you intend to help them fall? Your own kin?"
Jargo dropped to one knee.
"My life belongs to you now, your majesty. My tribe will follow. My people need cultivation, structure, and civilization. The Union cannot give it. Only you can."
His sincerity was engraved in his voice.
Lilith observed Vahn quietly.
"And? What is your next move, my husband?"
Vahn clasped his hands behind his back.
"First, we destabilize them from within. They have three pillars:
• The War Chief Council
• The Spirit Totem Keepers
• And the Slave Beast Armory"
Seraphina, in her flowing white robes, added softly:
"If any of these break, the others crumble. The Barbarian Union is a house built on violence, not unity."
Vahn nodded.
"Exactly. Which means—"
He turned to Jargo, eyes sharp.
"Tell me more about their weaknesses."
Jargo hesitated, then continued:
"The War Chiefs are powerful but blinded by pride. They underestimate anything that is not brute strength. The Totem Keepers rely on ancient rituals that cannot stand against your type of power. And the Slave Barbarians—"
He clenched his fists.
"—are kept in cruelty. Many would join another master if offered dignity."
Lilith's smiled.
.
"So we have leverage, then."
Jargo bowed.
"Yes, my queen. Enough to drag the Union to its knees."
Inside the Royal Court
Later that afternoon, Vahn sat on his throne as his commanders gathered.
Maps were unrolled across the war table.
Ezekiel, standing beside them, gave his report.
"Your Majesty, resource mining continues to exceed projections. Spirit Stones, refined ores, and Dragonsteel deposits are overwhelming the treasury. With this rate, we can equip an army large enough to swallow the Barbarian Union in a single campaign."
Ascalon and Golka puffed out their chests in pride for Ezekiel's competence.
Vahn tapped the table thoughtfully.
"Good. But we do not rush. Wars won through brute force end badly. We move with precision."
Ezekiel raised an eyebrow.
"You mean… we do not invade immediately?"
"No," Vahn answered. "We collapse them from inside first. When the Union is weak enough, they will beg for annexation."
Jargo nodded approvingly.
"It is the smarter path."
Longus added,
"The War Chiefs respect only overwhelming dominance. If you crush their strongest in front of their eyes, the rest will kneel without resistance."
Vahn's aura thickened, filling the hall.
"Then we will crush them. But on our terms."
Vahn pointed to three areas on the barbarian map.
"One: We sow discord among the Chiefs.
Two: We liberate the Slaves, breaking their war supply.
Three: We destroy their spiritual backbone by seizing the Totem Grove."
Lilith nodded.
"Husband, I can send shadow agents to spread chaos between the Chiefs."
Ezekiel added,
"I can lead the elites to free the Slave Beasts."
Seraphina, with a gentle yet firm voice, said,
"And I can weaken the Totem Keepers with Light Reversal Arts. Their ancient rituals will backfire."
Jargo, overwhelmed by the coordination and brilliance of their strategy, bowed deeply.
"Your Majesty… this is why the Barbarian Union will fall. You are everything the Union could never be."
Vahn lifted his chin.
"Jargo Ironhoof."
"Yes, my king!"
"You will return to the Barbarian Union as my official envoy. Publicly, you will claim you escaped death. Privately, you will begin planting the seeds of collapse. Don't worry about safety, I will send one of my summons to protect you. Your knowledge of their politics is vital for us after all."
Jargo breathed hard.
"To serve… in such a way… it is an honor."
Vahn stepped down from the throne and placed a hand on Jargo's shoulder.
"You kneel now, but soon… you will rise as the man who breaks an ancient tribe."
A shiver ran through the entire court.
The drums of destiny beat in the air.
That night, the moon bathed the dynasty in silver.
Vahn stood atop the palace roof, watching torches flicker across the rapidly growing capital. Lilith leaned against him; Seraphina held Eterna close.
Under the moonlight, Jargo and Longus trained together in the courtyard, preparing for the mission that would reshape history.
Lilith whispered,
"You are about to rewrite the map, husband."
Vahn's eyes gleamed with quiet, terrifying ambition.
"No," he replied.
"I am about to redefine power."

Three Days Later.
Jargo arrived at the gates of the Barbarian Union's stronghold, his heart pounding in his chest. The journey had been long and fraught with danger, but the worst part was yet to come: the faces of the chiefs who had once called him brother, now turned away from him. His reputation had already been shattered when he had opposed the union's war plans. But his loyalty to Vahn… it was now his sole purpose.
As the massive gates opened, Jargo's body tightened, preparing for the confrontation that would surely come. He walked into the war camp with his head held high, but inside he could already feel the eyes of the other warriors pressuring down on him. His tribe, his brothers in arms, no longer saw him as their chief. They saw him as a traitor.
One of the younger warriors, a familiar face from his past, stepped forward to meet him. A nervous, but stern look crossed his face as he locked eyes with Jargo.
"Jargo Ironhoof," the warrior growled, "You've returned. But this time, the Union will not bow. The other chiefs have already spoken of your treachery. You will answer for your betrayal."
Jargo stood tall and unflinching.
"I did not betray my tribe. I saw the truth. I see a future for us in the Necrotic Dynasty, where we rise alongside strength and wisdom. Not fall under the rule of the chaotic, drunken madness of the high Chief."
