Chapter 151: The Tale of his Origin
Vahn was lying prone on the newly grown spiritual grass of the paradise island, utterly exhausted but filled with the surging power of the Soul Transformation Realm. The Eye of Heavenly Dao still pulsed faintly, mapping the retreating energy of the shattered Tribulation. He was prepared to initiate his return.
However, just then—
A ripple disturbed the air above him, not the chaotic tear of a Void Gate, but a smooth, calculated distortion.
"So, you're here, little brother."
Vahn, though weak, instantly snapped his eyelids open, his Eye of Heavenly Dao activating to analyze the intrusion. He saw a woman of striking beauty with shoulder-length dark hair appear out of nowhere.
She was dressed in a tight black top, leathery pants, and sleek boots, her attire giving her the sharp and intimidating appearance of a dominant figure. A cosmic gangster, perhaps.
Ignoring her prominent figure, Vahn focused on her terrifying aura. She radiated an incredibly powerful, yet carefully contained, spiritual energy and a distinctly domineering air.
On her beautiful face, a faint, predatory smirk remained.
What was astonishing, however, was that she had the same kind of facial structures as him. The sharp jawline, the intense gaze, and the almost aristocratic curve of the nose. She looked just like a female counterpart to Vahn.
Vahn forced himself upright, his hand instinctively going to the hilt of his sword. The Eye of Heavenly Dao analyzed her, but its readings were baffling. Her energy signature was chaotic, familiar, and yet utterly foreign.
"Who are you?" Vahn demanded, his voice strained from the battle, though the newly transformed Dragon Soul was regenerating his power at a fast pace.
Smiling amusedly, she woman took a slow step forward. The she knelt casually next to a newly matured Spirit Fruit bush, plucking a fruit and examining it with disinterest before tossing it aside.
"I see you have no manners, little brother? After all the trouble I went through to find you across the star streams," she purred with possessive amusement.
"You should recognize your own flesh and blood."
She met his gaze, the intensity in her dark eyes matching the golden swirls in his left eye.
"The name is Vaylin Necrotis. And I believe I'm your sister. Your older sister."
The revelation was a hammer blow to Vahn's mind, far more shocking than the appearance of the Void Worm. He had believed himself as the sole heir of Necrotis lineage, a transmigrator, and now this powerful, dangerous woman stood before him, claiming the same forbidden surname and an intimate connection to his past.
"Impossible," Vahn stated, though his newly acquired Dao Eye already registered threads of fate connecting them. The same threads that ran through the deep Void.
"Oh, it's very possible," Vaylin chuckled, standing up and dusting off her leather pants.
"And now that you've finally triggered your big breakthrough and drawn the attention of the local Daos, it's the perfect time for a family reunion. We have a lot to discuss about the Necrotis Clan, the Void Dragon God, and the mess Father left behind."
Vahn still remained wary of her as gripped the hilt of his Nuclear Dragon Sword. He didn't know his family's history, nor her true goals, so he naturally refused to move until he had answers.
"No. I am not going anywhere unless you tell me everything about me and the Necrotis Family," Vahn stated, keeping his stance defensive.
Vaylin wasn't upset; in fact, she seemed amused by his caution.
"Well, I guess you make a fair point, little brother. We shouldn't let you remain in the dark for too long. Listen closely."
Vahn sat down, keeping his ears clear and his eyes sharp, while Vaylin projected a stunning holographic display in the empty air above the spiritual grass.
Alongside the display, her narration unfolded the shocking truth of his origin:
"Years ago, in the Nether Realm, a human woman with a celestial appearance appeared for the first time. She wondered alone and slaughtered any demon she stumbled onto. But her intention was to eradicate a Demonic Dragon named: Velzard, a powerful Dragon Lord."
The display showed two figures battling among dark clouds, demonic energy and bright holy light clashing each other constantly.
"They fought day after day, month after month. At one point, things took a dramatic turn. Those who were supposed to be mortal enemies fell in love with each other."
The holographic scene shifted to a time of uneasy peace.
"The woman settled down in the Nether Realm and became the second concubine of the Dragon Lord, Velzard Necrotis."
Vahn watched the two figures clearly. One was beauty beyond heaven, other was devilishly handsome, far beyond Vahn was now.
Velzard Necrotis... Is my father? He guessed.
"Things were peaceful at first. However, as time passed, the main lady of the house and the other three concubines grew displeased as their husband started paying far more attention to the human woman who was going through her first pregnancy. They secretly plotted to end the baby."
Her voice turned cold.
The display turned dark, showing four veiled figures whispering conspiracy.
"Days after days, they mixed deadly poisons in her food. However, all were useless against her celestial resistance. So, they decided to use a forbidden ritual on the baby itself. After collecting her hair, nails, and garment, and sacrificing thousands of demons, they initiated the forbidden Ritual of Reincarnation of the Void Dragon God—the primordial ancestor of the Necrotis family."
Vaylin's voice shook. "And this time, they succeeded. Unaware to the happy couple, the Seed of the Void Dragon God was planted inside the little baby that had just been born. Not just that, they threw the baby into a distant, insignificant World."
Vaylin pointed a sharp finger at the final image on the display where now a tiny figure falling through a chaotic spatial rift.
"Yes, little brother. That baby is you, Vahn Necrotis."
Vahn was stunned. He had concocted many theories about his origin and family, but this was completely beyond his wildest expectation.
Her next words shattered the silence of the paradise island.
"And now, somehow, you have become a time bomb for this lower World. When you turn 18, the Seed of the Void Dragon God will mature and bring forth destruction and chaos."
Vahn's Spirit Sense instantly delved deeper into his Black Hole Core. The golden light from the Dao Eye helped him pierce the veil of his own consciousness. There, nestled deep within his core, he saw the tranformed miniature dragon, its eyes tightly closed, radiating an absolute power that was ready to burst.
It looked as though it could open its eyes anytime.
"Now, do you understand, little brother?" Vaylin said, stepping closer.
"Staying in this lower world is very dangerous for you and them. The energy drain from this breakthrough will accelerate the maturation process. We must go back and find a cure before the Void Dragon God takes control of your Soul."
