Chapter 110: Establishment Of A New Faction
In the Southern Continent of Dalu, where a harsh winter had covered the land and sky in thick snow, a handsome young man with a noble temperament was struggling. He was desperately fighting against a few ferocious Glacier Bears.
Within just a few exchanges, he was driven onto his knees, exhausted.
"I am dead! I am dead! Father told me they'd be strong, but I never thought they would be this strong. How will I defeat them?" he muttered, fear gripping him.
Buzzz!!
Just then, something caught his eyes in the sky. An object was hurtling toward their battlefield with the speed and intensity of a meteor.
The young man immediately scrambled to his feet and started running as fast as his weary legs could carry him. The Glacier Bears, however, lacked such intelligence and curiosity.
"Ka-Booom!"
The impact was devastating. A furious wave of fire and ice shards shot up into the sky, creating a small mushroom cloud of destruction.
Young Ezekiel's mind was completely blown away, feeling the heat and the coldness of the collision even from his distant location. He realized he had been terrifyingly close to death.
"But what was that thing that caused such destruction?"
When the dust cleared and the temperature returned to normal, curiosity overcame fear, and he went forward to check the massive crater.
In the middle of the scorched pit, he saw a single, massive Greatsword, its blade completely dark, like polished obsidian.
"Oh Lord! This Sword caused such chaos?" he muttered, utterly shocked.
He went forward to pick it up, thinking he might have stumbled into a great fortuitous encounter. He reached out his hand, his fingers brushing the chilling, dark metal.
But just then, the scene in the sky changed again.
Instead of another falling object, a terryfying rift opened high above the crater.
Vahn, Lilith, Seraphina, and Eterna made their dramatic entrance, landing lightly on the snow-covered ground just before young Ezekiel. They were immediately surrounded by the remnants of the portal's powerful spatial energy.
Vahn, clutching the Dragon Pearl, was clean of the Secret Realm dust and radiated a refined, powerful aura.
Lilith looked expressionless, but her eyes instantly scanned for threats. Seraphina just held Eterna calmly.
Eterna's eyes sparkled noticing the snowy covers plains and mountains.
"This is my sword, thank you," Vahn said, staring directly at the young man and the weapon he had almost claimed.
Ezekiel froze, his hand still hovering over the black blade. He stared at the unearthly beauty of the two women, the strange child, and the handsome, terrifying young man who had just appeared out of thin air.
He immediately kowtowed on the snowy ground, his noble upbringing forgotten in the face of such transcendent power.
"Your Excellency," young Ezekiel pleaded earnestly, his voice shaking with awe, "You're so powerful! Would give this Ezekiel to become your disciple?"
Vahn, who had just picked up the Nuclear Dragon Sword looked down at the boy on his knees and the two bewildered Glacier Bears frozen in the distance. He was utterly speechless for a beat.
He had just fled an Emperor Beasts battle across dimensions, escaped five Saintesses, and had the Divine Treasury in his pocket, only to be met by a low-level cultivator whose greatest threat was a couple of fluffy white bears.
Vahn sighed dramatically. "Look, kid, I appreciate the enthusiasm, I really do," he said, shaking his head. "But training you would be like trying to teach a squirrel to pilot a starship. It's noble, maybe, but ultimately, it's just going to confuse the squirrel. My methods involve things like 'instantaneous power transfer' and 'fighting gods with a toddler.' You seem like a nice boy; you'd probably lose a few limbs just by standing too close to my sparring partner."
Ezekiel's face fell, crushed by the humorous but firm rejection.
Vahn's expression quickly shifted, replaced by a wide, confident smile; the kind that promises both ruin and glory.
"However," Vahn continued, gesturing broadly toward the frozen landscape, "I have a much better offer. I'm not looking for a disciple right now; I'm looking for a founding minister. I've just arrived on this continent and I plan to establish a Kingdom."
Vahn placed the Nuclear Dragon Sword on his shoulder, his eyes glowing with ambition.
"If you wish to join, you can be one of its very first and most trusted founding members. How does helping me conquer this Southern Continent and build an immortal Dynasty sound, Ezekiel?"
Ezekiel stared, his jaw dropped in astonishment. The two Glacier Bears slowly, intelligently, began backing away from the dangerous crater and the madman promising to build an empire.
Seraphina gently nudged Vahn with her elbow to warn about openly declaring his grand ambitions.
Lilith looked at Ezekiel, then back at Vahn.
The idea of King Vahn setting up a Necrotic Dynasty on a new continent was both terrifying and thrilling.
Vahn ignored his wives and focused on the young man.
"Forget the bears, forget the local nobility," Vahn added in a persuasive tone. "I have the resources to elevate this entire continent. I have the power, and now, I have the plan. All I need is someone who knows the local lay of the land, and someone who knows how to run a territory. You somewhat fill the criteria."
He pointed to the sky where the temporal void had closed. "I am Vahn Necrotis. You've stumbled into the start of a new history, Ezekiel. What do you say?"
Ezekiel, forgetting his exhaustion, his failed cultivation, and even his fear, scrambled to his feet. He bowed deeply again.
"Your... Your Majesty Vahn Necrotis! I accept! I would be honored to serve as your subject!" he exclaimed, immediately committing himself to the new regime.
Because, at that moment he understood this was once in lifetime opportunity. By hugging this big thigh, he could surpass his cousins and rivals easily. So why would he not?
With the first founding member recruited, Vahn had secured the necessary local knowledge. Now, he needed to establish his base.
