My Servant System

Chapter 1406: Interference

When those tendrils drew too close I targeted each and every single one, disrupting them and immediately causing Ayla to hiss in agony as she furrowed her brow, the connection between them and her getting severed violently.

The smile on Jillian's face fell once more, but only for a second before she grinned again when both Lilith and Lady Fenyras leapt away from us, outmaneuvering a pink tendril that I had somehow missed.

"You're so perceptive sometimes, doggy~! But not perceptive enough... Did you even bother learning the power that was given to you, or did you expect it to be handed to you on a silver platter like everything else in your life~?"

As she spoke a third tendril shot out towards Mom, forcing her away as well and whittling away the numerical advantage we had; each of them were now dancing around dozens of pink tendrils that would do who knows what to them, making Jillian all the more smug.

Her goading was beyond grating to me, so I decided to remain silent and spite her on that since she was fishing for a reaction, and as soon as she realized she wasn't getting one her grin turned ugly while her magic flared.

Draka was the next to be targeted, but unlike the others she was a tad bit slow on reacting, however she also had a rather interesting reaction to it since instead of running she just clasped her hands together and pulled something from her bracelet.

Immediately a thick cocoon of ice encased her body, and the tendril of Lust Mana Jillian was controlling smacked against it to no avail, unable to bypass the intricate weave of Ice Mana that was now defending the Dragonkin.

However it still got the same effect as the others - arguably even better thanks to her now being incapable of fighting at all - so Jillian didn't pay it any mind, enjoying herself again as she took us down to just the four of us.

"Now, we have unfinished business, don't we~? There is something the four of you are meant to give me, and I want it badly..."

The jagged blade in her hands began to solidify even more, the various 'gaps' in the metal becoming filled in with Earth Mana as the Elf coated her blade in it, turning the already sharp weapon into a razor sharp cudgel.

Beside her Ayla had gathered up a cocoon of her own, whipping up a water sphere before sending a pulse of mana ripping through the rooftop, using the clay tiles as projectiles as she sent them hurtling at us immediately.

No fanfare or speeches for her; she just attached and unleashed a barrage of heavy projectiles that exploded around us, showering chunks of hardened clay shrapnel everywhere in hopes of landing a few cuts.

It was sudden, and although Jillian likely wanted to hear herself speak some more she too got down to it, grinning maniacally as she rushed straight for Jahi, zipping across the gap between our roofs and colliding with the Demoness.

She was far faster than I expected, and the impact of her blade against Jahi's let out a grating screech as the metal of both blades scraped against each other while the larger Demoness actually slid back an inch, unprepared for the sheer speed displayed by Jillian.

Even as Anput tried to rush forwards to help we were given another display of speed and insanity as Jillian let out a shout of raw mana that pushed Jahi back again, allowing her to spin on her heel and launch herself at Anput next.

Barely a second or two had passed and yet she landed an attack on them both, an attack that had been blocked but one that had enough power behind it to leave them rattled; any aid Leone and I wanted to give them was filtered out through the hail of clay tiles that rained down around us, followed soon by giant chunks of rock that dotted the sky around us.

They weren't hesitating at all to unleash everything they had right off the bat, taking advantage of the seconds they bought from Jillian's lust tendrils in hopes of doing enough damage to make the fight more in their favor.

It was sudden, shocking and downright idiotic, but considering they knew their moment was over by the time Lady Fenyras or Lilith were free, it made a lot of sense...

That didn't mean that we were any less prepared for it, nor were we handling it all too well; Jillian was launching heavy charges before pulling back and repeating while Ayla was displaying a more than adept control over her magic as she launched artillery at us from just two dozen or so feet away.

It was jarring, but it wasn't impossible to deal with; huddling close to Leone I focused my mana inside of myself and felt for the will of the world around us, asking it to draw the cold from the cocoon around Draka and spread it over the tiles nearby Jillian's feet.

Sheltering behind the flames of my Vampiric gave me the time to do so, and as soon as the ice froze the tiles over the Elf slipped upon her next charge, not expecting something to happen that fast without any visual cue from me.

The instant she slipped Jahi was on her, lowering her shoulder and bashing it against the Elf's chest and head, knocking it back and sending her flying over the gap where she was caught and cradled by her lover's magic.

Seizing the opportunity both Anput and Jahi joined them, with the Jackalkin solidifying the rooftop and deflecting the projectiles to the best of her ability while the Demoness began to layer Light Mana over her blade, creating a pillar of golden brilliance that cut through the heavens.

Perhaps it had literally since the moment she raised it above her head she was flung backwards again - not by either of the Elves nor by the Arch Fiend, but by a being of incomprehensible power standing within the confines of a Gate.

| This is quite the surprise... Pray tell, what is the goal of this... fight? |
